Is Confero Mystery Shopping a Scam or Legit? (Full Review)

Confero Mystery Shopping Rating

Confero can serve as a decent secondary mystery shopping site to earn from as long as you are patient because you’ll have to wait some time before you can receive your earnings.

Confero is a website that claims you can earn cash by working as a mystery shopper.

Now the question is, is Confero mystery shopping a scam or is it legit?

Well, if you keep reading this Confero review, you’ll know the answer to that question and more. In this review, I will show you the full details of what Confero Mystery Shopping has to offer.

That way, you’ll know exactly what to expect from it before you even join. Then you can decide if this is a site worth your time or not. So let’s go ahead and examine everything Confero has to offer, shall we?

What is Confero, and what does it offer?

Confero is a company that provides customer experience research services to leading national brands and multi-unit and independent growth companies.

In short, it provides mystery shopping services, so if you are looking to earn from this site, you’ll have to work as one of their mystery shoppers.

It is indeed a legit site since you will really get paid to perform mystery shopping tasks. However, this doesn’t automatically mean that Confero is really worth your time. To find out if you should become a mystery shopper for this site, you must first understand how it works.

And the best way to do that is to examine the earning opportunity it offers, so you can get a clear picture of how much time and effort is required to earn from this site.

So here’s how to earn from Confero.

The earning opportunity – Mystery Shopping Assignments

The only way to earn from Confero is by taking on mystery shopping assignments. Once you become a mystery shopper for Confero, you just have to log in to the member dashboard to view all the available assignments.

confero job board
You can take on assignments near your area to earn.

However, before you can view the assignments from the job board, you have to complete your profile and pass the certification test. You’ll be given a maximum of six attempts to pass the certification test, which should be enough to pass it. Just make sure to read the document that the test is asking you to read.

Once you pass the certification test, you will be able to view the assignments near your area (refer to the photo above). When you see an assignment you are interested in doing, just click it and read the full details.

After reading the details, if you are really intent on doing the assignment, you can apply for it. If the assignment requires confirmation, you’ll receive an automatically generated confirmation or denial email from Confero. Keep in mind that some assignments will ask you to make purchases. Later, I will discuss how these assignments work in terms of compensation.

Now, there are also assignments that can be self-assigned, so if this is the assignment you are interested in, just assign it to your name and set the date when you want to do it. You won’t receive any confirmation email for this kind of assignment.

Once the assignment is assigned to you, all that’s left is to perform the tasks the assignment is asking you to do. And when you are done, you’ll have to submit your report to Confero for review.

If your submission is accepted, you’ll receive the compensation promised. In the next section, I will discuss how you will get paid. That’s basically how you can earn from Confero.

As for how many assignments will be available, that will entirely depend on where you are located. Later on, I will discuss the implications of your location in regard to the earning potential of the site.

How do you get paid?

Every time you complete an assignment, you will earn a certain amount, and it will be credited to your Confero account balance. As mentioned earlier, there are some assignments that will involve spending money.

In this case, you will be reimbursed for the money you spent, provided your submission is approved, of course. The amount that will be reimbursed will be credited together with the compensation promised, and it will also show up in your Confero account balance.

As for how you can withdraw your earnings, you will be able to do so via PayPal. This is the only payment method Confero offers, so before you decide to join, make sure you have a verified PayPal account first.

As for the scheduling of payments, for reports completed and submitted between the 1st and 15th of the month, the compensation will be issued between the 25th and 30th day of the following month. For reports completed and submitted between the 16th and 31st of the month, the compensation will be issued between the 10th and 15th day of the second following month.

So there’s a bit of wait time, which is the main downside of the payment system of Confero. But the good thing is that Confero doesn’t have a payout threshold you need to reach to receive your earnings. As long as you’ve earned something, you’ll receive it according to the schedule laid out.

Overall, I would say the payment system of Confero is relatively straightforward. You just need to be a bit patient. But I do like the fact that it offers a convenient payment system like PayPal.

If you are interested in more sites that offer a convenient payment method, I recommend you check out the top sites that pay via PayPal as well.

How much money can you make?

The amount you can earn will depend mostly on your location. Based on my experience with mystery shopping sites, the availability of assignments will entirely depend on which city you live in.

If you live in a metropolitan, there will be plenty of opportunities to earn since there will be a lot of shops around you that are probably clients of the mystery shopping site. But if you live in a small town, then you will most likely not find any opportunities to earn at all.

This is just how mystery shopping sites work, so there’s not much you can do about it. As for how well Confero pays, most assignments will allow you to earn around $20 to $30, which is not a bad rate, in my opinion.

That’s why overall, I would say the earning potential of Confero will vary depending on your location. If you live in a huge city, then the earning potential will be good. If you live in a small city, then the earning potential is next to nothing.

Can you use it on mobile?

Confero doesn’t have a mobile app you can download, but you can still access the member dashboard using your mobile device. Just open the mobile web browser and go to the login page.

Fortunately, the site is optimized for mobile use, so you shouldn’t encounter any issues while using it on your mobile device. You can also conveniently read all the content without zooming in.

This can come in quite handy if you want to check if there are available assignments and you are not in front of a computer. But when submitting reports, it is best you do it on a laptop or desktop, in my opinion.

Who can join Confero?

The site doesn’t tell you exactly which countries it is available in, but from what I can gather, you’ll be able to join if you live either in the US, Canada, Mexico, and other countries in South America. But most of the opportunities are really found in the US and Canada.

how to join confero mystery shopping
You can choose which platform to join, but both will really offer assignments from Confero.

To become a member of Confero, just go to the Evaluator Login/Signup page, and you will see something similar to the photo above.

Just choose which mystery shopping platform you want to sign up to. It really doesn’t matter because both platforms offer more or less, the same jobs, so there’s really no difference in where you should sign up.

Can you get support?

If you have any questions about the site or your account, you can check out the FAQ page for evaluators first. This page covers most of the basic topics you need to know as a mystery shopper for Confero.

If you can’t find the answers you are looking for, you can get in touch with their support team instead. You can do so by using the contact form provided by the website. Just make sure you use the contact form for shoppers and auditors (the orange form).

You can also call the number on the website (found at the bottom of their website) if you want to speak to a representative immediately. Overall, I would say the site provides decent support for its shoppers since it offers a couple of ways for you to receive assistance.

Final Verdict

Confero is a legit mystery shopping site that will pay you for completing mystery shopping assignments. It has a couple of good features, but it also has a few limitations you need to consider.

Let me finish this review by summarizing its pros and cons so you can see a clear overview of what it has to offer. Then you can decide if it is a good fit for you or not.

pros

Pros:

  • Offers payment via PayPal
  • No payout threshold
  • Offers decent rewards
cons

Cons:

  • Limited earning opportunities offered
  • Long wait time for payments

Confero is not a bad mystery shopping site, in my opinion. However, it doesn’t offer anything unique as well. It can serve as a decent secondary mystery shopping site to earn from as long as you are patient because you’ll have to wait some time before you can receive your earnings.

It pays a decent amount, but just like with all mystery shopping sites, the amount you can earn will really depend on where you live. So if you live in a small city, I suggest you find other ways to earn extra cash instead.

If you are looking for more mystery shopping sites to join, you can check out the best mystery shopping sites.

But if you live in a city where this kind of earning opportunity is not feasible, I recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead.

The sites on this list all have good earning potential, so you will be able to earn a decent amount in no time, no matter where you live and from your home. Plus, you don’t have to wait that long to receive your earnings.

  1. I applied on line for “secret shopper” job position and received my first check including a letter, in the mail today. This website states you have to have PayPal and also says that there is not a Mobil app for this site, but there is.
My bank couldn’t read the Check to deposit in my account and was worried it was fraud!
