If you are the do-it-yourself kind of guy or girl, you know the value of owning various power tools. However, you also know how expensive it can be to buy all the power tools you need.

So if you are reading this article, you are probably looking to save some money and still get the power tools you are looking for, and this guide will help you with exactly that.

It will show you how you can get into the sampling program of one of the most popular power tools brands out there today – Dewalt.

And let me just say that there are some things you need to know about the Dewalt sampling program as it is quite different than what most people expect. At the end of this guide, I will also give you a tip on how you can get more free Dewalt tools.

So, let’s get this guide started, shall we?

What is the Dewalt sampling program, and why does it exist?

The Dewalt sampling program, as the name suggests, is a program where you can get free Dewalt tools. In exchange, you will have to review the tools you get and provide honest feedback.

Dewalt made this program for two reasons. First, it is a great way to generate user content online. The content provided by the members of the sampling program is used for marketing purposes.

If you think about it, the great feedback they get from users can give the brand some clout and enhance its reputation. As for the negative feedback they get, it’s the driving force for the second reason, which is product research and development.

The best way to improve the quality of your products is to get valuable feedback directly from the users.

This is why I would say that the sampling program of Dewalt is an ingenious way to promote the brand and do product research at the same time.

How can you join the program?

While it is a great way to get free stuff from Dewalt, I do have to say that it’s very hard to get into this sampling program. The reason why I say this is that for you to become a member of the Dewalt sampling program, you have to get an invite from Dewalt.

writing reviews on dewalt

Now, the question is, how do you get an invite?

Well, there’s no exact answer to this, but Dewalt seeks customers who enjoy sharing their opinions and sentiments about the products they use.

The site says members are selected based on criteria such as how many reviews they’ve written on www.dewalt.com in the past, involvement in one of Stanley Black & Decker's trusted digital communities, and their current membership capacity.

The thing you need to focus on here is the number of reviews written on the Dewalt site. This means you have to buy Dewalt tools before you get any chance of an invite from them because you can’t post a review if you didn’t buy an actual product from them.

In short, you have to be prepared to spend some money if you ever hope to receive an invitation for the sampling program. This is why I would say that you should not purposely aim to join the sampling program.

It would be counterintuitive to keep buying Dewalt tools just to post reviews. That’s why my best recommendation is to just buy Dewalt tools as needed and make sure you leave an honest review about the product you bought.

Based on my experience, you’ll have a higher chance of getting an invite if your reviews are very detailed and honest. It doesn’t matter if your review is positive or negative. As long as you are honest, then it should be all good.

If you keep this in mind when you write reviews of products you have tested, then chances are you’ll receive an invite sooner or later.

The invite will contain the instructions on how to sign up as a member of the sampling program – it will be sent via email, so make sure to add Dewalt to your contact list to prevent any emails coming from them from going directly to your spam folder.

Do you receive any rewards for writing reviews?

Unfortunately, you will never receive any reward or compensation when writing reviews of Dewalt tools you have tested. But once you get invited to the sampling program, you get to keep all the free tools they send you.

Plus, you won’t have to spend a single dime to get free tools because Dewalt will take care of the shipping cost as well. You literally will have to sit and wait for them to send you free tools, which is what I would consider as your reward for writing great reviews.

Other ways to get free Dewalt tools

The Dewalt sampling program is a very exclusive club. It’s tough to get an invite and there’s no reliable way to get one.

However, there’s another way you can get free Dewalt tools, which is by getting free Home Depot gift cards. As you probably already know, you can also buy Dewalt power tools from Home Depot. So, theoretically speaking, if you have gift cards for Home Depot, you can use them to buy Dewalt power tools.

Fortunately, I have tested several sites where you can actually get Home Depot gift cards for free. You can check them in my guide on getting free Home Depot gift cards. The sites on this list will ask you to answer surveys, complete offers, watch videos, play games, and more to earn rewards.

You can then use your rewards to redeem Home Depot gift cards (or other gift cards, for that matter). Most sites also offer other reward options, such as cash, which you can withdraw via PayPal.

It’s a versatile way to get free Dewalt tools. Plus, the sites are free to join, so you won’t have a hard time registering.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, while getting free Dewalt tools directly from the company is certainly possible, the sampling program is exclusive and hard to get into.

It will take a lot of time and some money before you can score an invite from them, which is why I would say it is not the most practical option, in my opinion.

Instead, I suggest you check out the best ways to get free Home Depot gift cards if you want to get free Dewalt tools. It will take some time and patience to earn enough gift cards, but at least you can join these sites easily.

Plus, as mentioned above, these sites offer various other rewards, so it’s a very flexible option, in my opinion.

  1. Through my 30 plus years experience in the construction industry, I must say it was all about Makita tools. Founded in 1915, it came a long way. It became popular in the 80s and 90s. By this time here comes Dewalt founded in 1924. In the 90s it introduced a new technology on battery operated cordless hand tools, and I must say it flew off the charts. So I tried it out and was impressed with the 20v lithium technology. One battery could last a whole day depending on your daily task. These tools that I have will retire with me with the exception of the honey DO list around the house. I do own all DEWALT TOOLS that’s reliable and won’t give up on me. Thank Dewalt for all your years of reliability. My wife knows there won’t be any delays in her honey do list thanks to DEWALT TOOLS.

  2. I do maintenance for a major truck stop company. I have used DeWalt tools while others have used Milwaukee, Skil, Craftsman, even Ryobi. My tools never let me down and have outperformed all the others. I wouldn’t give up my tools for any others even if they where free.

      • Hi Michael my name is dessie I’m a carpenter by trade last 20 years. My van got broken into for the second time a week before Christmas. They took thousands worth of dewalt tools. I’d love to become a member sample your tools as dewalt is all I’d use. Have used makita in the past but dewalt blows them out of the park.

        • @Dessie: As you can read in the article above, it is not easy to become a member and I do not have any affiliation with Dewalt so I can not help you become a member. The only way is to do what I describe in the article above.

  4. I was a Fire Marshal in my home town here in rural part of the north Carolina mountains. For 18 + years I have watched many different building construction workers come and go throughout many building/renovations of my home town commercial businesses. I have noticed many different tools being used from multiple tool company manufacturers. I have stopped and asked on different occasions and different construction companies which tools they like the best. Boy what a loaded question this always is but, I wanted to know what tools were the best since I would be spending my hard earned money on and didn’t want to have to buy the tool again from a different manufacturer. My time and money is just as important as a millionaires money is to them even though I’m a blue collard man. After all the years and all the long debates over different manufacturers of this tool is better that theirs, my tools of choice are hands down Dewalt. After I retired I got back into construction work since that’s what I done from the age of 14 to 31. I have used the other brands and each brand has its place in the construction industry however, in the work I do now, my choice still stands for Dewalt. I’m not just saying that for a review that’s my choice no matter when or where you ask me.
    Respectfully,
    Steve Smith from the Carolina!
