WriteAppReviews is a website that claims you can make money while testing apps on your mobile device.
Over the years, I have tested a lot of apps and sites that make the same claim, so I know that not all of them are worth it or even legit.
Now the question is, is WriteAppReviews legit or a scam?
Well, if you continue reading this WriteAppReviews, you’ll know the answer to that question and more.
It will show you all the details, so you will know what to expect from it before you even join.
And let me just tell you right now that there are a few things you really NEED to know about it. After reading this review, you can make an educated decision on whether it is really worth it or not.
So let’s go ahead and check out what WriteAppReviews offers, shall we?
What is WriteAppReviews, and what does it offer?
At first glance, you might think that WriteAppReviews is a user-testing platform where you can earn by testing mobile apps. However, that isn’t exactly the case.
What WriteAppReviews is, is very confusing, and you will only be able to figure it out once you become a member of the site.
In reality, WriteAppReviews is an affiliate marketing platform where you can potentially earn by driving traffic to the app reviews you write for it. You can potentially earn from it, but there are a few important details you need to know first.
The video below explains exactly how the site works. You can also read the full details below the video.

The earning opportunity – Promoting affiliate links
As mentioned above, the actual way to earn from WriteAppReviews is not by reviewing apps. Instead, your goal is to drive traffic to your WriteAppReviews page by writing reviews of apps because this page is where you can include your affiliate links.
So not only will you not be paid to write reviews, but there’s also no guarantee you will earn from the opportunity it offers. That’s because, if you are new to affiliate marketing, the only way to earn from it is if somebody buys the product your affiliate link is promoting.
When you become a member of WriteAppReviews, the site will give you access to their database of apps you can test. From what I noticed when I was testing the site, the apps they will ask you to review are quite obscure, so I’m not even sure if anybody will be interested in the reviews you will be writing. This fact will add to the difficulty of earning, in my opinion.
When you write app reviews, you can post them on your WriteAppReviews page, and you can include your affiliate links. However, as explained above, you can only earn from affiliate links if somebody clicks them and buys what you are promoting. And that’s a very hard goal to achieve if no one is interested in the review you wrote because no one will click your link.
While I’m not saying that this method of earning doesn’t work, to succeed in affiliate marketing, you need to invest a lot of time and effort to learn all the skills needed to do it properly. You’ll have to lay out the foundation to get sustainable traffic to your website and get clicks for your affiliate links.
If you are new to affiliate marketing, I recommend you read this guide on how to promote your affiliate links for free. It will show you viable options you can go for to promote affiliate links.
Another issue I noticed while I was testing WriteAppReviews is that if you want to gain access to the site’s app database, you actually have to pay a fee of around $27 (which I don’t recommend you pay), so this opportunity doesn’t come for free.
In essence, what WriteAppReviews claims to offer is a shortcut to promoting affiliate links through app reviews. While there’s nothing wrong with that, what you need to keep in mind to succeed in promoting affiliate links is that there is no shortcut to success.
As I’ve explained earlier, to successfully promote your affiliate links, you need to learn the right skills to promote your affiliate links. You also need to invest a lot of time and effort to properly promote your affiliate links.

Red flags you need to know
If it isn’t obvious by now, I found a few red flags while I was investigating WriteAppReviews.
These red flags make it not a good option to earn from, in my opinion. Let me elaborate on each red flag so that you will learn how to spot them in the future if you encounter other sites that offer similar earning opportunities.
Red flag #1 – Not transparent with how to earn
As I’ve mentioned earlier, WriteAppReviews is not transparent with the earning opportunities it offers. At first, you might think that you will be able to earn by writing app reviews. However, as explained above, the actual way to earn from it is by promoting your affiliate links.
Based on my experience, sites that are not transparent with what they have to offer usually have something to hide. And in this case, their actual earning opportunity doesn’t offer guaranteed earnings. And to make matters worse, you have to pay a one-time fee to gain access to something that will not be worth it, in my opinion.
In all my years of testing online rewards platforms, I have never encountered a site that claims you can review apps to earn but asks you to pay for the opportunity to do so. All user-testing sites will always allow you to review sites or apps for free.
Red flag #2 – Unrealistic earning claims
Another red flag I encountered was the unrealistic earning claims it offers. You see, WriteAppReviews claims you can earn a specific amount per hour when working on the site. In all my years of doing affiliate marketing, I have never heard of a platform paying an affiliate marketer by the hour.
That’s not how affiliate marketing works. In affiliate marketing, you will earn when somebody avails of the offer you are promoting, so it doesn’t make any sense how WriteAppReviews claims you can earn a certain rate per hour.
A successful affiliate marketing campaign will allow you to earn even when you are sleeping. But to reach this status, you have to spend a lot of hours building up your website/page to get sustainable traffic. This sustainable traffic is the lifeblood of any affiliate marketing campaign.
If you get people to view your links, you will eventually earn good money. But again, to do this, you need the right skills and a lot of time and effort.
Red flag #3 – Unclear payment methods
Lastly, WriteAppReviews claims that you will get paid once a week via check, bank transfer, or Payoneer.
What’s wrong with this claim is that, first of all, with affiliate marketing, the one who will pay you will be the company/brand you promote.
With what WriteAppReviews is claiming (refer to the photo above), they make it sound like they will be the ones who will pay you when you earn from the affiliate links you include in your app reviews. So if you are to analyze what the site is saying, they are essentially taking a cut off of your affiliate earnings, which is not what is supposed to happen because, as explained above, the owner of the offer will pay you directly.
That’s why when I read the statement in the photo above, it immediately raised a few questions. I’m not sure why they stated it that way. All I’m sure about is that a 3rd party platform should not take a cut off of your affiliate marketing earnings, and from the statement, it seems this might be what they are doing.
Final Verdict
WriteAppReviews is a site that potentially will let you earn by promoting affiliate links in the app reviews you will be posting. If it’s not quite clear yet, there are a few important things you need to know about it.
Let me finish this review by summarizing its pros and cons so you will have a clear overview of what it has to offer. Then you can decide if it is truly worth it or not.
Pros:
- N/A
Cons:
- Not transparent with the earning opportunities it offers
- Offers unrealistic earning claims
- You have to pay a one-time fee to start working on the site
To make it clear, I do not recommend you join WriteAppReviews. It has a lot of red flags you need to be aware of, and when a site has several red flags, you should always stay away from them, in my experience. You are better off earning extra cash online in a different way.
