Testlio is a website that claims you can earn money by testing websites and apps. Over the years, I have tested many sites like this, so I know, based on experience, that not all of them are worth it.
So, the big question now is, is Testlio a good opportunity to earn extra cash?
That’s what you are about to find out in this Testlio review because it will reveal everything it offers as well as its pros and cons, so you will know exactly what to expect from it.
Then, you can find out if this is a good fit for you or not. So, let’s check out Testlio, shall we?
What is Testlio, and what does it offer?
Testlio is a legit user testing platform that will let you earn by testing websites and mobile apps. Now, the fact that it is legit doesn’t necessarily make it a site worth joining.
To figure out if you should sign up for Testlio, the first step is to understand how it works. The only way to do that is to examine the earning opportunity it offers so you will have a clear idea of how much time and effort is needed to earn from it.
So, here’s how to earn from Testlio.
The earning opportunity – Testing
Once you become a tester for Testlio, you will gain access to testing opportunities in two ways. First, you can get an invite from them to join a testing workspace. You’ll receive invites based on your profile, devices, certifications, and listed working preferences.
Once you’ve joined a workspace, you’ll be assigned testing tasks by the testing team lead. You’ll only be assigned tasks where you have certifications. Testlio is very particular about who can test what, so you’ll need to pass the certification tests (more on this later) if you want to earn from the site.
As a tester, your goal is to identify issues and bugs. You’ll also have to provide feedback regarding the tests you’ve conducted. Plus, you are expected to collaborate with the members of the testing team, so it’s not a one-man show. If you are not prepared to do any of those, then this is not for you.
The other way to gain access to testing opportunities is by applying for them on the Work Opportunities board. You can access active work opportunities via the “Find work” tab in the member dashboard.
Once you click on a work opportunity, you can see the requirements that are necessary to be able to apply for the work opportunity, such as location or device. You can also see the testing type needed for the workspace.
If you are confident that you can do what is asked of the opportunity, then you can click the Apply button and follow the rest of the instructions. Most of the time, you’ll have to fill out a form and answer a few questions.
After you apply, you just have to wait for the work opportunity to be closed to find out if your application is accepted or declined. If you get accepted, you’ll be added to the workspace. If your application is denied, you’ll receive a rejection email regarding the specific work opportunity you applied for.
Now, what you need to know about testing for Testlio is that you’ll be paid by the hour, and you’ll have to do the testing using their platform. That way, they can track how long you’ve worked on the task.
After completing your testing task, the team lead will review it, and if everything is in order, they will approve your work and you will earn a certain amount, which will be credited to your Testlio account balance. In the next section, I will discuss how you will get paid.
There are a decent number of testing opportunities available, but from what I’ve observed, it’s tough getting accepted into a workspace. Your best chance of earning is to get an invite to join a testing workspace. Unfortunately, you don’t have control over this.
The best thing you can do is to pass as many certification tests as you can so you will have more access to testing opportunities.

How do you get paid?
As mentioned earlier, you’ll be paid by the hour when you are working on testing tasks. The rate you will get per hour will depend on the country you live in (more on this later).
Now, the question is, how can you withdraw your earnings? Well, Testlio processes payments automatically every week. At the end of every week, as long as you’ve earned something within that week, your earnings will be sent to you via PayPal or Payoneer (your choice).
That’s all there is to it. Overall, I would say their payout system is quite straightforward and I like the fact that it offers convenient payout methods like Payoneer. If you are interested in more sites that use a convenient payout method, I suggest you also check out the top sites that pay via Payoneer.
How much money can you make?
The amount you can earn from Testlio will depend on which country you live in and how many testing opportunities you get to participate in. Testlio has a tier-list of countries, and you can check them out here.
As shown in the photo above, the pay rate for members who live in tier 1 countries will range from $18 to $35 per hour. In contrast, the pay rate for the lowest-tier countries is $10 to $20 per hour, so there’s a huge gap.
As a tester, you’ll usually start with the lowest rate for your country. But then, you can increase your rate (within the tier’s pay rate range) by performing well on tasks that you do. So, if you want to maximize your earnings, you must always do your best when performing testing tasks. Testlio will eventually notice your performance and increase your pay rate.
As for how many opportunities you can participate in, unfortunately, you don’t have control over it. The best thing you can do, as mentioned earlier, is to take as many certification tests as possible to increase your chances of getting invites to participate in a testing workspace.
But overall, I would say its earning potential is quite decent since its rates are above the market range, from what I’ve observed. It’s just not that easy to land testing opportunities, so you have to be very patient.
Can you use it on mobile?
Testlio doesn’t have a mobile app, but its member dashboard is optimized for mobile use, so you can perform tests conveniently using your mobile device. It is to be expected, in my opinion, because they do say that you get to test mobile apps as well if you become a tester.
So, at some point, you’ll have to use a mobile device when testing. And if you want to maximize your earnings, you’ll have to perform tests on your mobile device from time to time. That’s why I was glad to know that you can conveniently do so on a mobile device.
Who can join Testlio?
Testlio is available globally, so you can sign up as a tester anywhere in the world. However, signing up as a tester isn’t as easy as you might think.
After you complete the registration process, the next step is to take the certification test called Functional Regression Testing. This test is designed to evaluate your testing capabilities so they will know if you are qualified to participate in the testing opportunities they offer.
Think of this test as a process of weeding out the unqualified testers. So, you must take this test seriously because if you fail, you can’t re-take it. And if you fail, you will not be able to participate in any testing opportunity.
That’s why it’s not that easy to become a Testlio tester, and it’s not for everyone.
Can you get support?
If you have questions about the site, you can check out Testlio's Help Center page. To access this page, you must log in to the member dashboard. It discusses most of the important topics you need to know about Testlio.
If you can’t find the answers you need, you can contact their support instead. You can use the contact form provided by the website for this.
Overall, I would say it does provide decent support to its members since it offers a convenient way for you to get assistance. Plus, you can just talk to your team lead about any testing concerns to resolve them. They will be happy to assist you.
Final Verdict
Testlio is a legit user testing site that will let you earn by working on testing opportunities. It has a couple of good features, but it also has certain limitations you must keep in mind.
To help you with your decision, I have summarized its pros and cons so you can see a clear overview of what it offers.
Pros:
- Available worldwide
- Offers convenient payout methods
- Processes payments automatically
Cons:
- You must pass the certification test to become a tester
- Limited earning opportunities
In my opinion, Testlio is a good user-testing site to earn extra cash. However, it is not for everyone because they only accept those who have the skills to perform the tests required.
It’s not like most other user-testing platforms where you can get by without having exceptional testing skills. That’s why I only recommend you go for it if you are confident with your testing skills.
Otherwise, you are better off finding easier ways to earn extra cash. If you fall under this category, then I suggest you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites and apps on this list all have good earning potential, so you can earn a decent amount quickly and regularly.
