Buff is a platform that claims you can earn passively by playing video games.
But is Buff legit or just another scam you must avoid?
This is a valid question to ask before joining any site that claims you can earn from it, and I will address it in this Buff review.
Aside from that, this review will also show you everything you need to learn about Buff so you will know exactly what to expect before you sign up. Then you can make an educated decision on whether this opportunity is a good fit for you or not.
So let’s go ahead and take a closer look at Buff, shall we?
What is Buff, and what does it offer?
At its core, Buff is a loyalty program that will reward gamers for playing video games.
It is indeed a legit platform since you will really earn rewards for playing video games while the program is running in the background. However, this doesn’t automatically mean that this opportunity is the right fit for you.
To figure out if you should take advantage of what Buff offers, you must first understand how Buff works. And the best way to do that is to examine the earning opportunities it offers, so you will get a clear picture of how much time and effort you need to invest.
For that, I have made a video that gives you an inside look and shows exactly how you can earn from Buff. You can also read all the details below the video.

Option 1 – Playing Supported Video Games
As mentioned above, you can earn passively by playing any of Buff’s supported games.
The platform supports more than 1,500 online video games (refer to the photo below), and there are a few popular titles like Valorant, Fortnite, Call of Duty Warzone, Dota 2, and more.
To start earning, you must first install the software, which is also compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices. However, if you are going to install the software on your computer, take note that it will only work with Windows systems as of the writing of this review.
When you’ve installed the software, and you’ve already registered as a member (more on this later), all you have to do is start playing any of the supported games while Buff is running in the background. While doing so, you will earn Buff points (which is the currency the platform is using). Later, I will explain to you what you can do with the Buff points you’ve earned.
The site isn’t exactly clear on how many Buff points you will earn, but one thing is clear though, you will earn more from winning games than from losing. That’s why this platform actually encourages you to become better at the game you are playing, which is something I have found to be unique with this platform.
Most platforms that offer the same opportunity don’t really care about your in-game performance. They will just award you with a fixed reward for every minute you are playing. And the good thing is that the points you will receive will not decrease the longer you keep playing a certain game, unlike other platforms I have tried, so you can just stick to one game you are good at and keep playing.
Now if you are wondering what the software does exactly and how Buff benefits from it, then let me explain to you how it works. It basically monitors your gaming activity so it can provide game developers with valuable data they need to design new games or improve current ones.
Buff gets paid by game developers and studios by providing valuable data to them. This is how Buff manages to pay you for using the software. And by using the software, you are essentially helping game developers improve their products, so it’s a win-win situation for the parties involved, in my opinion.
Option 2 – The Buff Wheel
Another way to earn Buff points is to play the Buff Wheel. The idea is really simple, you spin the wheel to win a random number of Buff points.
You can play this game every three hours, and you can potentially win as much as 1,000 Buff points. You can skip the 3-hour waiting period by paying $1.99 per spin, but it’s not really worth it, in my opinion, because you might just end up losing money instead.
Option 3 – Challenges
You can also earn by completing challenges set by Buff. Just go to the Challenges section of the software to see what challenges are available for the week (refer to the photo below).
The idea is to complete the challenge before the deadline ends. Most challenges will involve playing the supported games of Buff. After you’ve completed the challenge, just go back to the Challenges section and claim your reward.
There aren’t a lot of challenges available if you are a free member, but you can unlock more if you become a premium member.
Option 4 – Watching Ads
Lastly, you can earn more Buff points by watching video ads. All you have to do is go to the Challenges section and you will see the “Watch Ads” opportunity.
If there are ads available, you will be able to click the “Watch Ads” button to start earning. You have to finish viewing the ad to earn the reward. When I was testing Buff, there weren’t any ads to watch, so that leads me to believe that it doesn’t offer a lot of ads to watch, which also means you will earn very little from this opportunity.

How do you get paid?
As explained above, you will earn Buff points from the earning opportunities Buff offers. But what can you do with the Buff points you’ve earned?
Well, you can exchange them for various in-game items for Valorant, Fortnite, and a few other games.
You can also convert your points to an Amazon or Steam gift cards. Sometimes, Buff will also offer gift cards for other gaming platforms like Riot Games.
However, you have to keep in mind that this kind of reward will only be available until supplies last. Buff does restock these rewards, but you have to be alert because they will restock them without any prior notice.
While I was testing Buff, the Amazon and Steam gift cards were not available. Plus, some of these reward options will only be available for premium members (more on this later). You can also donate your points to various charities that Buff supports.
The number of points to redeem a reward will depend on the type of reward you want to redeem and your membership level. For example, if you want to redeem a $10 Steam gift card, it will only cost you 1,600 Buff points if you are a premium member, but it will cost you 2,200 Buff points if you are just a free member.
Overall, I would say the payment system of Buff is relatively straightforward. However, it doesn’t offer any cash rewards. The closest you can get will be Amazon or gaming platform gift cards. If you prefer to earn cash, I recommend you check out the top sites that pay via PayPal instead.
How much money can you make?
Let me tell you right now that you will not earn a lot from Buff. The platform doesn’t pay that well. It will take you a couple of months to earn around $10 to $15 worth of rewards.
That being said, it’s still a nice bonus considering you don’t have to exert any effort to earn. All you have to do is play the games you want (as long as they are supported games, of course), and you will earn something. Buff does offer premium membership, which will help you earn more from the opportunities it offers.
If you become a premium member, you will earn more Buff points while playing, and you will also receive a few more benefits, including additional challenges to earn from. But I advise you to think carefully before you become a premium member because it does cost a significant amount to become one (as shown in the photo above).
In my opinion, you can just think of Buff as a bonus for playing games you love. However, this platform isn’t exactly for everyone. I would only suggest you join this site if you play any of their supported games regularly anyway.
Can you use it on mobile?
As mentioned earlier, Buff has a mobile app that will work with both Android and iOS devices, so you can also earn more points while playing mobile games.
I do have to say, though, that it doesn’t support as many mobile games as desktop games, so you might find fewer opportunities to earn while using the mobile app.
When I was testing Buff, the only supported mobile games were Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars, so it’s not really a great option for mobile gamers.
Another thing to note with Buff is that if you let the software run in the background, it might affect the performance of the game you are playing. Your FPS (frames per second) will decrease. If you are very particular about that, then this is not a good option for you.
Who can join Buff?
The site doesn’t explicitly say which countries it is available in, but from what I can tell, it is available more or less worldwide, so you shouldn’t encounter any trouble signing up as a member.
To register as a member, you have to install the app/software on your device first. Once you’ve installed it, you will be able to register when you first open the software.
As shown in the photo above, you can register using your Google or Discord account. You can also create your own login when signing up. After you’ve completed the registration, you can log in to the software, and it will automatically scan for any supported games. If there are supported games installed, you can start earning Buff points by playing them.
Can you get support?
Buff has an extensive FAQ section that discusses most of the basic topics you need to know about Buff.
There are also various articles posted by the site that will help you become better at playing specific games. These articles offer tips to become a better gamer in general.
But if you experience any issues while using the software or you have questions that are not answered by the FAQ page, you can use the contact form provided by the site to submit your inquiry. Buff also has a Discord channel you can join if you want to interact with other members or Buff representatives.
Overall, I would say Buff provides decent support to its members since it offers convenient ways for you to request assistance.
Final Verdict
Buff is a legit platform that will allow you to earn rewards passively by playing any of its supported video games. It has a couple of decent features, but it also has a few limitations you need to keep in mind.
Let me wrap up this review by summarizing its pros and cons to give you an overview of what it has to offer. Then you can decide if it is a good fit for you or not.
Pros:
- A lot of popular games are supported
- You can earn passively
Cons:
- Low rewards
- Doesn’t offer any cash rewards
In my opinion, Buff is not for everyone. If you play any of their supported video games regularly anyway, then this can be a good opportunity to earn bonus rewards. But if you are mainly looking for a way to earn extra cash, then this is not for you.
The reason why I say this is that the platform doesn’t pay that well. It will take a lot of time just to earn a decent amount from it. Plus, it doesn’t offer any cash rewards. In my opinion, Buff is mainly suited for gamers who play their supported games regularly.
That is why if you don’t belong to that group, but you are looking for a way to earn extra cash, I suggest you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites on this list all have good earning potential, so you will be able to earn a decent amount in a short period of time.
