ClickASnap Review – Legit or Scam? (Not for Everyone)

ClickASnap Rating

The one main drawback of ClickASnap is that the earning potential is very low. Also, you can’t really earn anything if you just opt for their free membership. But if you have a big audience and are great at taking photos, it can be a way to earn a bit extra.

If you are a photographer or you love taking photos, ClickASnap claims you can upload your photos to their platform and earn per view you get.

It definitely sounds like an easy and fun way to earn.

But is ClickASnap legit and really an easy way to make some extra money online, or is it a waste of time?

I have signed up and personally tested it, and in this ClickASnap review, I will share all my findings.

You will learn about all the pros and cons so you will know exactly what to expect before deciding if this is the right option for you or not.

So, let’s go ahead and take a closer look at what ClickaSnap has to offer, shall we?

What is ClickASnap, and what does it offer?

ClickASnap is a photo-sharing website that will pay you for uploading your original photos. And yes, it is indeed a legit site since you will really get paid for doing so.

Now, to fully understand how the site works, we have to take a closer look at the earning opportunities it offers. This is a good way to get a clear view of what you need to do on the site.

I have, therefore, made a video that gives you an inside look and shows exactly how to earn from ClickASnap. You can also read all the details below the video.

Option 1 – Uploading your photos

As mentioned above, you have to upload original photos to earn.

That means you can’t use any stock photos, screenshots, or graphics that you’ve made. It has to be photos you’ve taken with your camera.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let me explain how you can earn from uploading your original photos.

clickasnap membership fees
You can upgrade your membership to earn more per view.

ClickASnap used to also showcase the free membership on the membership page and at that time, you could see that you could still earn even with the free membership. You would, however, earn significantly less.

They have removed info about this on the website, but from what I have been able to find out, you can still get 0.1¢ per view with the free membership.

But to get a chance to actually earn something real from the photos you’ve uploaded, you will have to upgrade to a paid subscription. The minimum membership level you can subscribe to in order to earn from your uploaded photos is their Upload+ subscription.

When you upgrade to this subscription, you will earn a certain amount (I will explain the amount you can earn later) for every view your photo gets. The user must view the photo for a minimum of 5 seconds before it can be counted as a paid view.

For every photo you’ve uploaded, there will be a view counter, so you’ll know how many views you’ve gotten for that photo. Now, getting consistent views for your photos is another story. And that, in my opinion, is really what makes this site not for everyone.

To get a lot of views, you have to upload high-quality photos. Then, you have to build a following. That way, you can easily get hundreds or even thousands of views for your photos. That’s going to be a lot of work, and you have to keep in mind that you will have to spend a bit of cash every month in order to earn.

So, you need to make sure you can earn back the monthly subscription fee so you won’t end up losing money instead. That’s why I would say this site isn’t really for everyone.

If you just like looking at photos, you don’t need to pay for their monthly subscription. If you want to earn, you have to spend a bit of money to get the best chances.

If you decide to upgrade, be aware that you can save 40% by paying yearly. This is, however, not something I recommend you do right away.

In my opinion, it is better to first test it for a month or two to see if it lives up to your expectations before committing to paying for a full year.

Option 2 – Selling your photos

If you notice in the photo above, there are membership levels with the word seller. So, if you upgrade to that subscription, you can actually sell the photos you’ve uploaded. They will appear in ClickASnap’s marketplace.

And if anybody wants to buy your photo, they just have to pay ClickASnap and the site will do the rest.

Usually, when people buy photos, ClickASnap will also print out the photo and mail it to them. So, aside from the digital copy, they will also get a physical copy of the photo.

Take note that you will be the one to set the price for the photos you want to sell. And you also get to keep most of the earnings (ClickASnap will receive 4% of the total cost of the photo to cover any service fees during payment).

So, you’ll actually have to determine the price for every photo you want to sell. And you may find that to be a not-so-simple undertaking. You need to find the right balance to arrive at a fair price point. That way, you will have a higher chance of selling your photos.

How do you get paid?

For every photo you sell and view you get, you will earn a certain amount, and it will be credited to your ClickASnap account balance. Then, once you’ve earned $15, you will be able to withdraw your earnings via PayPal.

This is the only payment method they offer, so if you don’t have a PayPal account yet, I would suggest you sign up for one and get it verified before you register as a member of ClickASnap.

Personally, though, I don’t mind if they only offer PayPal as the mode of payment since it is really one of the most convenient payment options around.

If you are interested in more sites that offer a convenient payment method, I would recommend you also check out the top sites that pay via PayPal.

How much money can you make?

As I’ve explained earlier, the determining factor for the amount of money you can earn from ClickASnap will really be your following.

Think of this site as a social media site for photos. You will have to do the work to build up a large following to potentially earn a lot from the views.

You see, you will only earn $0.009 per view of your photo – and that is if you have the most expensive membership.

That’s really a very small amount. Many people get confused about how much they can earn and think they will earn 9 cents per view because ClickASnap writes you will earn 0.9¢. But just to make it clear, this means $0.009.

In order to reach their payout threshold, you will need to get at least 1666 views. That’s a pretty huge number, right?

And that will take a lot of work. You’d have to really be an active member of the site, and you’ll have to interact with other members to have a chance at increasing your following if you do not already have a following.

If you opt for the subscription level that lets you sell your photos, then reaching the threshold will be relatively faster. ClickASnap does offer tools to help you promote your photos if you avail of their Seller and Pro Seller subscriptions.

But again, you can’t really expect to sell all of your photos immediately. That’s why, overall, I would say the earning potential of this site is really pretty low for most people.

Only a few people can really take advantage of everything the site has to offer. And if you don’t really have the time to build up your following on this site, then you can’t really expect to earn a lot from it.

mobile site of clickasnap

Can you use it on mobile?

ClickASnap doesn’t have a mobile app you can download. But, you can still use the site on your mobile device conveniently since their site is optimized for mobile use. You just have to use a mobile web browser.

This can come in quite handy, especially if you use a high-end mobile device that is capable of taking professional-quality photos (like the latest iPhone, for example).

That way, you can just snap photos and upload them immediately to the site. That’s really the best scenario I can think of where you can take full advantage of their mobile-friendly site.

Who can join ClickASnap?

A good thing about ClickASnap is that it is available worldwide.

However, even though you can join from all countries, be aware that it only pays out via PayPal, so if you live in a country where PayPal is not available, it does not make sense to join to earn.

You have to be at least 18 years of age to register as a member.

how to sign up on clickasnap
To become a member, you just have to fill out the form or use your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account.

The registration process is really simple. You just have to fill out their sign-up form, or you can use your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account to sign up.

Once you are done with the registration process, you can log in to the site and complete your profile. Then, you can start uploading photos and building your following.

Can you get support?

If you have any questions about the site or you encounter an issue while using it, they have quite a comprehensive FAQ page you can check out. You might be able to find the answers you are looking for.

And in case you can’t find the answer, you can always just get in touch with their support team by going to their Contact page and creating a support ticket. So, it’s pretty easy to get the help you need.

That’s why I would say they have a good support system in place for their members since they ensure you will always be able to contact them.

Final Verdict

ClickASnap is a legit photo-sharing platform that will pay you for uploading your photos on their site. It has a couple of good features, but it has some disadvantages that you need to be aware of.

Let me end this review by summarizing its pros and cons so you can get an overview of what the site has to offer. Then, you can decide if you should really go for it or not.

pros

Pros:

  • The site is mobile-friendly
  • Offers payment via PayPal
  • Available globally (but you can only get paid if PayPal is available in your country)
cons

Cons:

  • It is very hard to earn as a free member
  • Low rewards
  • Hard to get views

The one main drawback this site has is that you have to be extremely patient to earn, especially if you only have a free membership. You can’t really earn anything if you just opt for their free membership. If you want to earn anything significant, you have to upgrade your membership to any of their 3 paid membership levels.

Plus, while earning will be relatively easy, it will actually involve a lot of work. You will have to gain a lot of followers to really earn a decent amount from this site. And to do that, you will have to invest a lot of time interacting with other members of the site or promoting your profile elsewhere.

That’s why I would say this site isn’t really for everyone. If you are a photography enthusiast and you have a lot of extra time, you can join this site and hopefully earn a decent amount. But you might also not even be able to earn back what you pay for the monthly membership, and you need to be aware of this.

If you are just looking to earn extra cash, I would recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites on this list all have good earning potential, and they are all free to join, too. So, you don’t have to spend any money to earn.

  1. Where is the section to add your paypal information to get paid? Or does it pop up when you reach the least cash out amount which is $15 @clickasnap

  2. I appreciate your review.
I just learned about the website. I decided to give it a try. Although I noticed that uploading photos, entering data about them and replying to comments takes a lot of time. I can’t deny, though, that getting views, interacting with other users, watching and admiring their photos are entertaining as well. I applied for an Upload+ account, which allows me to upload an unlimited number of photos each day while paying a monthly submission fee of £3. They also promise to pay me 0.7 cent for each view, which works out to almost 143 views making $1. The number of views for your photographs must generate $15 before any withdrawals. However, if you look at Uploads section of your account, you will find two related column: paid views and view. The number of paid views are always less, and it seems more than 50% of views are not recorded as paid views. I’ve received over 4500 views till yesterday. I requested payment because my withdrawal was more than $15, but surprisingly it was declined. I attempted to contact customer service to learn why. Actually, nobody is around. The attempts will land at “https://blog.clickasnap.com/faqs/contact-us,” but the chatting page is a bot that only automatically replies with the following phrase about declined payment: “If your withdrawal requests has been declined because you have breached our terms of service and community guidelines. You can read our community guidelines by clicking on the link!” The guidelines are so broad and all-inclusive. The most important thing is to upload your own high-quality photos, as I am confident in my photos. I need to be made aware of the precise reason that caused the rejection. It really gets under your skin, and you somehow feel duped! I have no idea where to look for the answer. I would be grateful for any help in this regard.

    • Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Unfortunately, I cannot help with this. Only their support can help. As I explain in the review above, it is not really a platform I as such recommend as a way to earn.

      • Thank you, Mikael. I was waiting for a conclusion before writing this; perhaps it will be useful to someone. You are well aware that no one can reach the threshold amount unless they pay something to ClickASnap in the form of various submission fees. To be honest, I like the platform because it allows me to share thousands of photos while also noting them. Furthermore, I can see the world through the eyes of others and learn a variety of things from them. My other hobby, however, is painting, and some photographs help to develop creativity and inspire me. As you can see, the financial incentive for me to remain on this platform is not significant. If you’ve ever tried to upload photos and add information to them, respond to other people’s comments, search for photos, and watch them, you know that least people are on this platform to make money. In fact, the time they spend is thousands of times more valuable than the money ClickASnap promises to pay them! It’s like a small bonus. But, because ClickASnap claimed it while acting in the opposite direction, I went after it.
To access the support, you need to raise a thicket and their support responds. They sent me a PDF file about their policies and criteria for being eligible for payment. In my opinion they ae so general and sometimes so funny which can be manipulated by them in a way that finally they pay as less as possible number of account holders. Those are as following:
*The view must last five seconds long minimum
*The image, when being viewed, must be in focus
*The view must be created organically i.e. not by a bot
*The view must not be a result of Click Circles
*The view must not be a result of incentivising a paid view i.e. begging.
Click Circles: A Click Circle is the (verbal, written or implied) organisation between two or more individuals to view one another’s images, with the specific intent of creating paid views to ensure mutual returns, rather than to view images based on the merit value of the imagery.
Begging: To ‘beg’ is to; 1) make a request (verbally or written) to another member on our platform for them to view, like, comment or follow you and/or your ClickASnap profile 2) comment the same comment repetitively on multiple images on an individual’s ClickASnap profile 3) comment the same, or similar, short comments on multiple images on multiple profiles across our platform.
Photo dump: To ‘photo dump’ is to; 1) upload multiple images that are the same or are similar 2) excessively upload images which have no artistic intention.
They also mentioned “One of our terms is that you must not create fraudulent views. It is evident the views gained on your profile, have been done so via fraudulent means”. It set me on fire because all I did was view other people’s photos, and then they viewed mine. I asked to tell me precisely which fraud had been committed in exchange for the enormous sum of money ClickASnap promised to pay!!! I explained that did not violate any of the rules because:
        * I took the uploaded photos, and they are not copies of other people’s work. They are high-quality and have good resolution. Since I adore them, I enjoy sharing them with others.
        * I most definitely did not use a bot, pay anyone, or beg for someone to look at my photos. Do you believe that the amount ClickASnap will likely pay to someone will be so significant that someone will choose to use some of it to hire viewers? Isn’t that a naive thought?
        * “The view must not be a result of Click Circles”, I did not create any click circles. I do know that almost none of those people follow me or me them, or that we view and like each other’s photos. I’m guessing people found each other on the platform through the search and “related image” sections (as I did). When you view and like other photographs, they return to your page. This occurs automatically on any platform with view and follow options! It is so natural that everyone asks their friends to look at their internet pages! Even the platform allows for sharing. I also shared my page on Twitter and sent my username to close ones and friends so they could see it. Otherwise, how should others learn about your posts and why should they come?
        * Although I am certain it does not apply to my situation, it was mentioned as an item and prompted a genuine question for me: how does a non-artist define “images which have no artistic intention”? And how can you judge others intention?
        * I may leave brief comments on many of the photographs of others, but why should this be a problem? There are limited words and time to respond to hundreds of images that you may genuinely enjoy! Why should it be a criterion when you know it’s a real person doing it?
        * Furthermore, the number of my views is significantly greater than the number of views required to reach $15 (nearly twice as many). I assumed the ClickASnap system had eliminated some views based on its rules. Instead of being a complainer, I am accused of having fraudulent views, which is both offensive and insulting.
The respond I received was: “We are not at liberty to divulge our anti fraud measures but please be assured these are vigorous and can always see how and when views are generated”.
In my opinion, this is a very ambiguous and insulting statement. I’ve reached a point where further communication seemed pointless and I just shared my frustration and feedback with them. My Clickasnap experience is summarized below: First and foremost, I discovered that it demeans and looks down on its customers. As if they are all attempting to steal from the company while providing no benefit to it. However, the company profits far more than it pays, which is why it exists. Without those who share their photographs on the website, the company is nothing, and giving them this opportunity is not a favour. The second issue is that the criterion for defining legitimate viewpoints is wrong. For instance, I didn’t check my Clickasnap for several days to see how it affected the views. The number of views fluctuated only slightly. You will not have views unless you view and appreciate other people’s photographs, which Clickasnap appears to refer to as making a “Click Circle.” If the company is serious about being fair, these criteria should be revised, or the claim about paying for opinions should be dropped. Third, the website has several flaws (which I will not go into detail about) and should be tested by a software tester.
