Crowd Content is a website that claims you can find freelance writing jobs to earn extra money. If you are looking for a way to earn extra cash, you must be mulling over whether it is worth joining this site or not.
Well, if you continue reading this Crowd Content review, you’ll know exactly what to expect from the site before you even sign up because it will give you a detailed inside look at what the site has to offer. Then, you can properly evaluate if this is the right opportunity for you or not.
So, let’s go ahead and take a closer look at what Crowd Content is all about, shall we?
What is Crowd Content, and what does it offer?
Crowd Content is a freelance site that offers opportunities for writers to earn extra cash. And yes, it is a legit site since you can really earn from the writing jobs it offers. But the question is, is it worth it?
Well, the only way to answer that question is to understand how the site works. And to do that, we must inspect the earning opportunity it offers so you will have a clear idea of how much time and effort is needed to earn from it.
So, here’s how to earn from Crowd Content.
The earning opportunity – Jobs
To earn from Crowd Content, you must work on writing jobs. There are two ways how you can work on these jobs. The first is to apply for them (refer to the photo below).

When you log in to the member dashboard, you’ll see all the available jobs you can apply for. Just click on the job you are interested in to see the details. Make sure to read the details carefully before you apply for it.
The application process will ask you to write a sample article for a topic provided by the client. Make sure to follow the instructions for this part because if you miss one, there’s a very high chance your application will be rejected.
After you submit your application, you’ll usually hear back from the client within 24 hours. If you get accepted, then can start working for them. When this happens, you’ll be sent an order to write/edit (depending on the job you applied for) an article.
Now, when working on an order, one of the most important things you need to keep in mind is the turnaround time (TAT). This is the time it will take for you to submit the article you are working on. Once it is submitted, the client will have to review your work.
If the client is not satisfied with your work, you’ll be asked to revise it according to their preferences. You will be given 24 hours to submit your revision. If you fail to submit the revision on time, you’ll receive a strike, which is the site’s enforcement system to ensure reliability and quality.
If you also fail to submit your work on time, that will also be another violation that will give you a strike. If you get one strike, your capacity to take in orders/jobs will be reduced. If you accumulate a total of three strikes, Crowd Content will review your account and work with you at their discretion for improvement.
They can also just remove your account at their discretion if you really fail to submit any quality content. This is why it is very important to always submit your work on time.
Now, the other way to work on jobs is to claim direct orders. Clients can also send you a direct order for an article to be written or edited. You see when you sign up as a freelancer for Crowd Content, you’ll be asked to provide your areas of expertise/interest.
Now, if a client is looking for content to be written, they can just ask the site to find a writer for them. That’s when Crowd Content will match the client’s demand with certain writers according to their expertise/interest.
You don’t have to accept direct orders. You must keep in mind that you should only accept jobs that you can do a good job with. But if you decide to claim a direct order, you are only given a maximum of 30 minutes to reconsider. This is called a Drop Window, and during this time, you can withdraw your claim for the direct order without any penalties.
If you drop the order after this window, you’ll receive a strike. After you clear this window, all that’s left to be done is to submit your deliverables on time. When the job is finished, your client will give you your rating for the work you completed.
This is also another important aspect of the job because it will determine the amount you will earn for completing the job. You can get a maximum of four stars in your rating, with four stars being the highest rating.
The site is not quite clear on how much you will earn per rating, but I do know that you will be paid per word and the rate will depend on your rating as a writer. In the next section, I will explain exactly how their payment system works.
What I noticed when I was testing the site was that there’s always a decent number of jobs available that you can apply for. Although, I can’t really say how often you will get a direct order because I never got one while testing.

How do you get paid?
As explained above, you’ll be paid per word you write. Now, as for the rate per word, that will depend on your rating as a writer. Again, the site is not quite clear on what the rate per rating is, but from what I can gather, this is how their system works.
- 1-star – Around $0.01 per word
- 2-star – Around $0.02 per word
- 3-star – Around $0.05 per word
- 4-star – Around $0.07 per word
You’ll also receive a bonus if you can submit your work earlier than expected. This is called the TAT Bonus. Then, when you’ve earned at least $10, Crowd Content will send your earnings via PayPal automatically every Tuesday or Friday, depending on which day you were able to hit the $10 threshold.
Overall, the payment system of Crowd Content is relatively straightforward. I like the fact that it offers a convenient payment system like PayPal, and I also like that the payments will be processed automatically. So, you can just focus on churning out as much content as possible to earn more.

How much money can you make?
The amount you can earn from Crowd Content will mostly depend on two things – the number of jobs you complete and how skilled a writer you are. As for the first factor, when starting, you’ll be limited to just one job at a time.
But when you keep completing a job, you will eventually be able to work on more jobs at any given time. Then, as explained above, you’ll earn more if you keep getting a good rating. So, your strategy to maximize your earnings should be to always submit quality content ahead of the deadline.
If you manage to do that, then you’ll be able to earn a decent amount from this site. Overall, I would say the earning potential of Crowd Content is relatively good. Its rate is actually competitive. But as explained, you must make sure to submit quality articles to unlock the full earning potential of the site.

Can you use it on mobile?
The site doesn’t have a mobile app you can download, but you can still access the member dashboard using a mobile device because it is optimized for mobile use. However, the only thing you can really do if you access the dashboard using a mobile device is to check if there are any orders you can claim.
For the rest of the work that needs to be done, including applying for jobs, you must use a computer since you’ll have to write. It’s quite impossible to write an article using a mobile device, in my opinion.
So, to answer the question above, NO, you can’t. You will definitely need a laptop or a desktop if you want to earn from this site.
Who can join Crowd Content?
While you can sign up as a freelancer regardless of where you live, Crowd Content only really hires freelancers who live in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. So, if you live somewhere else, then this site is not for you.

If you are eligible to join, you must sign up as a freelancer. Then, as mentioned earlier, you’ll have to indicate your areas of expertise/interest. Aside from that, you’ll be asked to write a short biography so that clients will have an idea of what kind of writer you are.
After you finish the registration process, the site will send a confirmation link via email. You must click the link in the email to complete your registration. Once you’ve done this, you can log in to the dashboard and start applying for jobs.
Can you get support?
If you have any questions about the site or your account, you can check out the Help & Support page or the Writer’s Resources page. These pages discuss most of the important topics you need to know about the site.
But if you can’t find the answers you need, you can just get in touch with the support team. To do so, just go to the Help & Support page on member dashboard. Then, scroll down and click the Submit a Ticket button.
Overall, I would say the site does provide decent support for its members since it offers a convenient way for you to ask for help.
Final Verdict
Crowd Content is a legit freelance site that will let you earn extra cash by working on writing jobs. It has a couple of good features, but it also has some limitations you need to consider.
To help you decide, I have summarized its pros and cons so you can get a clear overview of what it offers.

Pros:
- Offers competitive rates
- Offers payment via PayPal
- Has a decent number of earning opportunities

Cons:
- You can only work on a limited number of jobs when starting
- Only available in a few countries
In my opinion, Crowd Content is a good site to earn extra cash from. However, I would only suggest you join this site if you are actually a skilled writer. That’s because you will not earn a lot from it if you don’t submit quality content.
If you are just an average writer, you’ll still be able to earn from it, but you will not be able to unlock its full earning potential. Plus, you also have to make sure you always submit your work before the deadline. So, it requires a certain level of dedication to earn from this site.
