Engage In Depth is a survey site that promises to pay you for completing their surveys.
But is Engage In Depth legit and a way to earn or a site to stay away from? These are the questions you should be asking if you are interested in joining this survey site.
Let me answer the legitimacy question right away. Yes, this survey site is legit. It does pay you for completing their surveys.
But this doesn't mean you should sign up right away and become a member.
You need to figure out if joining this survey site is a good use of your time. This Engage In Depth review will tell you all you need to know so you can decide whether this site is for you or not.
So, let's take a good look at what this survey site has to offer, shall we?
What is Engage In Depth, and what does it offer?
As mentioned, Engage In Depth is a survey site that will pay you to answer their surveys.
It's a bit more unique than most survey sites because they have separated their panels into two categories: the consumer and the healthcare panel.
The consumer panel will mostly deal with TV viewing, ad effectiveness, automobiles, or any consumer-related topics. As for the healthcare panel, it deals with medical or healthcare topics.
To get a clear picture of what Engage In Depth has to offer, we need to take a closer look at how you will be able to earn from this.
Here are its earning opportunities.
Option 1 – Engage In Depth Surveys
Paid surveys will be your number one source of income after you sign up for Engage In Depth. After all, it is a survey site.
Engage In Depth, however, doesn't make it clear on their website how you can take these paid surveys.
As you can see in the photo above, you will be able to log in to the member dashboard of the panel you signed up for, but you won't be able to see the available paid surveys.
Normally, with other survey sites, once you log in to the dashboard, you will see all the available paid surveys you can take. But their dashboard is quite different because it only contains your profile information.
Instead, you will receive survey invites through your email. Typically, these emails for survey invites will contain the link to the actual survey, as well as the reward you will get for completing it, as well as the estimated time to complete it.
And with most survey sites, before you can proceed to the actual survey, you have to answer several pre-qualification questions so they can determine if you indeed belong to the demographic the survey is targeting.
Once they see you are qualified, you will then be redirected to the actual survey. If you don't qualify, they will tell you right away so you won't have to waste your time answering a survey you won't get rewarded with.
You also need to be aware that as a consumer, you can only join their consumer panel. The health care panel is only for physicians and medical professionals.
If you are not a physician/medical professional but would like to take part in healthcare studies, you can check out this list of clinical paid studies instead.
Option 2 – Focus Groups
Engage In Depth also mentions on their website that they hold focus groups for the panel you join. But again, that is the only information they have provided.
But in my experience, survey sites that do hold focus groups tend to send invites to those who are qualified.
It's pretty much the same process as paid surveys. The only difference is that focus groups will discuss only one specific topic.
The rewards for joining focus groups tend to also be much more significant than paid surveys but they, of course, also take more involvement.
But if you get the chance, focus groups cannot only pay pretty well but also be fun to participate in, in my experience.

How do you get paid?
Now that you know how to earn from Engage In Depth, the next you need to know is how you will get paid.
Again, their website doesn't make it clear how you get paid, but based on my own experiences, feedback from other members, and visitors here on my website, Engage In Depth will often reward you directly for each paid survey you complete or focus group you will join.
They do mention that participating in any of these market research activities will allow you to earn $50 to $100.
As to how they will pay you, from what I can gather, they will often mail you a check for the reward you've earned. However, it also seems you can sometimes get paid via PayPal or check, which is way more convenient, in my opinion.
The good thing is that you don't need to reach a specific amount to claim the reward you've earned.
Most survey sites typically require you to reach a specific amount or number of points (which you can then convert into cash or some other type of reward) before you can start redeeming them.
They will pay you right away once you complete any of their market research activities.
However, if you get the payment sent by check, don't expect to receive it right away, though, because it will then be sent to you via postal mail. Plus, it will typically take a couple more days before they issue your check.
So expect to receive your reward after a week or so first (and sometimes even longer).
If you are looking for survey sites that will allow you to easily and quickly get your rewards, I recommend you check out the top survey sites that pay through PayPal.
How much money can you make?
With survey sites like this, the earning potential will mostly depend on how many survey/focus group invites you to receive, the actual number of surveys you complete, and the rewards you will get for completing the market research activity.
For Engage In Depth, the good thing is that their rewards are pretty high ($50 to $250). It is one of the highest-paying survey sites I've encountered.
But don't go thinking you will be able to earn quite a lot of money just yet. In my experience, survey sites that offer a handsome reward normally don't offer opportunities regularly.
And true enough, based on the feedback of members, the invites don't come often.
You could argue, though, that since the reward you will get is quite high, the money you will earn will almost be comparable (if not higher) than survey sites who send frequent invites but pay less.
In my opinion, it can be a good site to earn money from time to time. Just don't expect to earn from it regularly.
And depending on your profile, there is no guarantee you will be able to qualify for the few surveys you will be offered.
If you are looking for survey sites that will allow you to earn regularly, I suggest you check out the top survey sites in your country.
Can you use it on mobile?
There is no mention on their website about an Engage In Depth app, which you can download on your mobile device so you can work on surveys even when you are not in front of the computer.
However, the mobile version of their website is optimized for mobile use.
What this means is that you will be able to view the content on your mobile device without having to scroll left and right or zoom in and out.
This makes it much more convenient for you because you can answer online surveys even when you are not in front of a computer.
As for the other market research activities they offer (focus groups and interviews), I don't think you will be able to complete them with a mobile device though.
So, don't expect to earn rewards purely from doing work on your mobile device.
Who can join Engage In Depth?
Here's where the confusing part of Engage In Depth becomes quite clear.
As you can see in the photo above, the registration form does allow you to select a country.
But if you notice, there is also a required field that says State. The choices in that field only display states from the US and one that says Other.
So for example, if you live in Denmark, you'd have to choose another as the right option. Considering that you will get your rewards via postal mail, this leads me to conclude that the Panel is only available to US residents because sending a check overseas really isn't very practical.
Also, when I checked the registration form for their Healthcare Panel, you won't be able to choose a country. The only choice you have is for the State. This supports my conclusion that this survey site is only available to US residents.
The sad part here is that we have to assume some things because their website lacks all the necessary information you will need so you can decide if this site is for you or not. In my opinion, this is just poor website planning.
As a survey site that plans to recruit members, the first thing you have to ensure is that you have to provide all the relevant information for the interested party to make a decision.
They did a poor job with that, in my opinion.
Can you get support?
As you can see, the lack of information on their website can cause many problems, especially if you are leaning toward signing up as a member.
Naturally, if you are interested in signing up, you will look for information that would support your decision.
So, you'd look for a FAQ section, which Engage In Depth doesn't have. Your next option is, to look for their terms and conditions, which they don't also have.
These are basic components of a website, and in my opinion, the lack of these components shows a lack of interest on their part to provide you with relevant information.
They do have a contact form on their contact page, as shown in the photo above. So, if you have any questions, which I'm sure you will, you can use that contact form to talk to their support team.
They do have a Facebook page you can visit. The problem is, they haven't been active for quite some time. So, I'm not sure if they will respond to your inquiry through that platform.
So, I will leave it up to you to decide whether their support system is adequate or not.
Final Verdict
Engage In Depth is a legit survey site that does pay you for completing their market research activities. But it does have plenty of problems, in my opinion.
So, let's finish this review with a summary of their pros and cons so you can decide whether this survey site is indeed worth becoming a member of or not.
Pros:
- No payment threshold
- High rewards for their earning opportunities
Cons:
- Limited to US residents (but they do not display this clearly)
- Lack of relevant information on their site
- Lack of support system provided
- Poor website planning
- Few available studies/surveys
As you can see, the main issue with Engage In Depth is the lack of information they provide you before signing up as a member. In the grand scheme of things, this might seem a small thing, but it shows a lot about who they are as a website.
The good thing, though, is that they do reward you quite significantly for every market research activity (paid surveys, focus groups) you complete.
And they pay you real money right away. So, if you manage to become a member, it can be a decent secondary site to earn from.
Just don't expect to earn from it regularly. If you are looking for survey sites that will allow you to earn regularly, I suggest you check out the top survey sites in your country.
The survey sites on this list will have great offers. Plus, you will be able to find one no matter where you live.
