The only way to earn from Fieldwork is by participating in their research studies. Most of the time, these studies are in the form of a focus group. While it may sound very simple, there are a few things you need to know about this opportunity.
Before you can participate in any study, you will have to answer the survey questions for the specific study you are interested in. These questions are designed to identify if you are qualified to be a participant in the study, so you must answer as honestly as possible.
After you’ve submitted your answers, all you must do is wait for Fieldwork to review them, and if they deem that you are qualified, you’ll receive a phone call or an email informing you that you are qualified. If you qualify, then you will have to report to Fieldwork’s office at the date and time specified.
As of the writing of this review, Fieldwork only has 11 offices in different cities in the US, so it’s very impractical to participate in a study that is far from where you live because the cost of travel might be more than what you will earn from participating in the study.
That is why before you answer the surveys of the study, you must check the location of where it will be held to find out if you will profit from participating in it. Otherwise, I don’t see the point in spending money to go to the office of Fieldwork and participate in the study. It’s a bit counter-intuitive, in my opinion.
That being said, some studies that Fieldwork offers will not require you to go to an office to participate because they can be conducted over the phone or online. There are even opportunities for taste tests, product trials, in-home interviews, shop-along interviews, and online research. In my opinion, these are the studies you should target because they won’t involve any travel expenses.
For these types of studies, you’ll still have to go through the same process of answering the survey questions. After you complete a research study, you will receive compensation immediately. In the next section, I will discuss how you will get paid.
There are a decent number of studies available at any given time, but you must keep in mind that you will not always qualify for them.

As explained above, you will get paid after completing a study. How you get paid will depend on the study you participated in. Most of the time, you’ll be paid in cash, but it will be in the form of a prepaid Visa card.
Other times, you’ll receive gift cards as a reward. The payment system of Fieldwork is relatively straightforward, and I like the fact that it doesn’t have a payout threshold. So, you don’t have to wait to earn a specific amount to receive your earnings like in most other survey and market research sites.

When I was testing Fieldwork, the rewards I saw for studies that involved having to go to their office usually paid around $100 to $500, depending on the length of the session and the complexity of the topic.

So, if I were to classify the earning potential of Fieldwork, I would say that it would only be pretty good if you live in a city where there is a Fieldwork office. If you don’t, then the earning potential will be very low because online and over-the-phone studies are relatively rare.
Plus, Fieldwork is very specific with who they accept as participants for their studies, so you might not even qualify just for one study.
Can you use it on mobile?
For the work that needs to be done to earn, you will not use a mobile device. As explained earlier, most opportunities are for focus groups, and these usually require you to go to their office. For online focus groups, you’ll need to use a computer to participate.

You will have a hard time finding opportunities to earn from Fieldwork because their online and over-the-phone opportunities aren’t very common. Plus, Fieldwork is very specific with whom they will accept as participants in their studies.
So, even though the site pays a decent amount, you might not be able to find any opportunities to earn. You are better off finding other ways to earn extra cash instead.
