Grass.io Review – Worth It? (What You NEED to Know)

Grass Rating

Grass can be a way to earn a bit passively. The first time they paid people, the rewards were quite decent. But after they finally annoucned their new reward structure, many people got dissapointed (myself included). Therefore, it is no longer something I recommend.

Grass.io (aka GetGrass) claims you can earn passively by sharing your unused network resources.

I admit, it’s quite an appealing offer. But the question is, is it worth it?

This GetGrass.io review will show you what you need to know about the site so you will have a good idea of what to expect from it. Then, you can decide if it is really worth it or not.

And let me tell you right now that there are a few things you need to know about this site before you join. So, let’s get this review started, shall we?

What is Grass.io, and what does it offer?

As mentioned above, GetGrass.io (or Grass as it is now called) is a platform that will reward you for sharing your unused network resources. In other words, it will reward you for sharing your unused internet bandwidth. It’s a lot like Honeygain but with a few key differences.

But before you can decide whether to sign up for this platform, you must first understand how it works. The best way to do that is to take a look at the earning opportunities it offers, so you will have a clear idea of how much time and effort are needed to earn from it.

So let's go over all the details.

Option 1 – Sharing Unused Internet Bandwidth

The main way to earn from Grass is to share your unused internet bandwidth through its browser extension. Well, at least that's how it used to work. But now, it also uses a special program to share your unused internet bandwidth and a mobile app (more on this later).

how to earn on grass
You must install the Grass desktop node to start earning.

To start earning, you must install the software first. Then, once it is installed, you’ll need to provide your login credentials. After this step, you’ll be able to set up how the program will share your unused internet bandwidth.

Once the setup is completed, just click on “Connect.” Then, you’ll be able to view your connection and watch the points roll in. It will not eat up a lot of your computer's resources, so you will hardly feel that it is running in the background.

This is a good thing because you can still use your computer like you normally would.

Option 2 – Referral Program

The other way to earn from Grass is through its referral program. All you have to do is share your referral link with the person you want to invite, and when they click the link and sign up as a member, they will become your referral.

You can invite other people to join to earn more rewards.

You can also share your referral code with them and remind them to input it during sign-up, and they will become your referral. As a reward, you will receive a 20% commission when your referral earns from GetGrass.

Its referral program is three levels deep, so if your referral invites other people to join, you’ll still receive a commission of 10% from your referral’s referral. The last level will only reward you with 5%, but it’s still a nice way to earn passively, provided, of course, the referrals will remain active.

How do you get paid?

What you will earn from sharing your internet bandwidth are points that you can use to redeem rewards.

When Grass first launched, these points could be converted to Grass tokens, which are already being traded on crypto trading platforms. This means Grass tokens already have monetary value.

payout options of grass
You can withdraw your Grass tokens to any Solana wallet.

That is how you got paid when Hrass did its first airdrop. However, they have now announced that they will move to payments in USDC for future payments.

Also, one very important thing you need to know is that you can only get paid at set times. Grass will announce when you can withdraw.

But, in my opinion, they have not been transparent enough about this. From the first airdrop until they announced the second payout, it took almost 2 years.

A lot of people (myself included) was not ahppy about this.

And when they finally announced the actual earnings for that period, many people got upset, so let's go a bit more over that next.

Important Grass rewards update – July 2026 (so far, rewards look very low)

As mentioned above, Grass has finally announced more details about the next reward distribution for users who have contributed their bandwidth since the last airdrop/reward distribution.

This is something many users have been waiting for for a long time, as some have been running Grass for close to two years, and in some cases on several devices.

However, based on what has been shown so far, the rewards look extremely low.

grass points value in usdc
The announced value of your Grass points.

As you can see in the image above, in the dashboard, you can see the value they have announced so far for the points you have earned.

Also, as you can see, it seems they have moved away from paying out in the Grass token but will instead pay out in USDC.

People have already started sharing what they can see they will receive, and I have seen many reports from users who have been active for a very long time and only seem to be getting around $1–$3 worth of rewards. Understandably, many users are very disappointed and upset about this.

Grass now shows estimated rewards in the dashboard based on different types of points. There are both network points and uptime points, and from what I can see, the uptime points seem to be rewarded even lower. For example, it looks like you would need around 15 million uptime points just to earn around $1.

That is, of course, extremely low if this is the final reward structure.

I really hope we have misunderstood something, or that more details, adjustments, or other rewards will be added later. Because as it looks right now, the rewards are honestly much lower than I expected, especially for users who have supported the network for such a long time.

If nothing changes, I think most people will stop contributing to the network, as it just does not make sense. I never expected it to pay a lot, but the whole idea of the network from the beginning was to pay contributors fairly, and in the first airdrop, the rewards were also quite decent. But if this stays as announced so far, I will personally immediately stop using and recommending Grass.

I will keep following the updates from Grass and update this review again if anything changes or if there are new details about the distribution.

Also, just an important warning: be aware that there are many scammers pretending to be Grass who are doing fake airdrops to drain your crypto wallet or scam you in other ways, so only trust announcements about the next airdrop on the official website and social media.

How much money can you make?

As for how much you will earn when sharing your internet bandwidth, that will mostly depend on your network score.

earning potential of getgrass
The amount you can earn will mostly depend on your location.

The factors that will affect your network score are shown in the photo above. The main factors will be your location and the number of unique IP addresses attached to your account.

To maximize your earnings, you must install GetGrass on computers that use different public IP addresses. Technically, you can still install the software on multiple devices connected to the same public IP address, but your earnings will be split into the devices connected to the same IP address.

As a result, your earnings will be the same whether you connect one computer or several computers to one IP address. In the end, it will be much more efficient to just let it run on one computer to lessen your electricity consumption.

Overall, I would say the earning potential of GetGrass is will mostly depend on how many computers are connected to different public IP addresses you have access to. If you only have access to one, then it can take a bit of time to earn a decent amount of Grass tokens.

But if you have access to several, you can earn more.

However, as explained in the update above, right now it looks like the rewards you will get will be extremely low.

Can you use it on mobile?

When I first tested GetGrass, it didn't have a mobile app you could download. However, since then, it has released an app for Android devices.

So, if you are an Android user, you can now also earn using your mobile phone.

It has also released a desktop app.

grass app

The app is relatively easy to use, so you shouldn't have a hard time getting used to how it works. You can now even download it from the Google Play Store (when it was first released, you had to download it directly from the website).

Now, if you are an iOS user, then this is not for you. I suggest you check out the best money-making apps for iOS instead.

The overall user experience it provides is quite pleasant, which is all you want from an app like this, in my opinion.

Who can join Grass?

GetGrass.io is available more or less worldwide. However, to register as a member, you’ll need a referral code, and you can get that by joining their Discord channel or by using my invitation link, which you can find at the end of this review.

how to join getgrass
You must fill out the registration form to become a member.

Once you have the referral code, you can register as a member by filling out the registration form. When you complete this step, you must install the browser extension. After installing the browser extension, you must input your login details to begin the setup.

When the browser extension is completely set up, you can start earning.

Can you get support?

If you have any questions about the site or your account, you can check out the FAQ page on their website first. It discusses most of the basic topics you need to know about Grass.

If you can’t find the answers you need, you can use the chat option inside the website dashboard. However, I have tried this myself, and even though I managed to get through to a representative, I just got a generic reply, and then the representative interrupted the chat and just referred me to their Discord for more help.

But when I then went to Discord, the support section just tells you to use the chat option on the website.

So, how it is now, you can basically not get any support, which is another reason I no longer recommend Grass.

Final Verdict

Grass is a platform that will let you earn rewards by sharing your unused internet bandwidth. It has some decent features, but it also has a few drawbacks you need to consider.

Let’s finish this review by summarizing its pros and cons to give you an overview of what it offers. Then you can decide whether it is really worth it or not.

pros

Pros:

  • Offers a passive way of earning
cons

Cons:

  • Limited payout options are available
  • You do not know exactly when you can get paid
  • The announced rewards for the next reward distribution are extremely low and disappointing
  • They have terrible support

In my opinion, GetGrass was great when it first launched. When they did their first aridrop, I think they lived up to their goal about fair rewards.

But the lack of transparency regarding when you would be able to get paid, and the extremely low rewards then announced is a deal-breaker, in my opinion.

Therefore, as of updating this review, it is no longer a platform I recommend.

I suggest you check out the best passive income apps instead. All the options on this list offer good payout options and are more transparent.

But if you want to be more proactive in earning, I recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites on this list all have good earning potential, so you can earn a decent amount in no time.

If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with Grass, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.

    • As I explain above, you can only get paid when they do an airdrop. Unfortunately, they are not very clear about when the next will be, but I have explained when you can approximately expect it will happen above. It definitely takes some patience.

    • Unfortunately, there is no way yet to know how much the points will be worth once they do the next airdrop. I wish they were more transparent about this so we all knew what to expect, but we have to wait and see until they do the next airdrop.
