Did you know that you can make money while traveling? Yes, you read that right. There are opportunities to earn good money even when you travel.
So, if you travel frequently, I would recommend you read this guide on how to make money while traveling.
It’s a great way to earn back some of the money you spent to travel or even make a full-time income and just enjoy life while being on the go.
I will include a summary of each method so you can easily identify which one is a good fit for you. Let’s get started, shall we?
What to consider when earning while traveling?
Before showing you the methods, let’s first discuss what you have to consider when earning while traveling.
One of the things you have to consider is to bring your computer (preferably a laptop) with you because this will be your primary tool for earning.
You have to invest in a good laptop. If you don’t have one, a good rule of thumb when you shop for a laptop is always to consider the processing power. Make sure you get one that has enough capabilities to do the things you need to do.
Another thing you need to consider is that there are some ways to earn extra cash online that are not really suitable for travel. For example, earning from paid surveys isn’t good when you travel because the survey sites will ban you if you log in from other countries.
That’s why I didn’t include this method in this guide. It’s simply not advisable.
How fast can you start earning?
The methods I will recommend will require a bit of time and effort on your end. You have to make the right preparations before you can earn from these methods.
So, before you book your ticket, make sure you set aside some time to do the prep work and set your schedule as well once you arrive at the destination you are headed to. You can’t just expect to earn without spending some time doing the work that needs to be done.
Just to make it clear, these methods will affect your time exploring the place where you are going. So, make sure to iron out your schedule before you leave.
Best methods to make money while traveling
Now that you know what to expect, it’s time we discuss the actual methods you can go for, so you can earn while traveling.
Just choose the method that suits your preferences. I recommend you start with one first so you don’t spread yourself too thin.
It’s better to focus on one, in my opinion, and get the desired results. Then, you can just branch off to the other option when you have enough time.
The video below explains what these methods are. You can also read the details below the video.

Option 1 – Create a blog/website
Creating a blog or website is one of the best ways to earn extra cash in general. The good thing is that this method is also feasible even when you are traveling.
Having a blog or website that contains a lot of content can give huge earning potential from affiliate programs, ads, and sponsorships. Of course, you have to choose the right niche for your blog/site.
It doesn’t have to be a travel blog/site because I will tell you right now that the competition for this niche is quite brutal since there are already thousands of people doing it, including celebrities. So, it’s quite hard to break this market, in my opinion.

It can be any niche you want. The key thing is to find a niche you enjoy doing and then make quality content. That way, you can generate value for your audience.
Once you do that, you will acquire the trust of your readers, and you will be able to successfully market your affiliate programs, ads, or sponsored products.
The thing about creating a blog or website, though, is that it involves a lot of work, especially when you are first building it. You have to optimize it first and, of course, design it so that it will be appealing to your readers.
Once all the prep work is done, the work required to maintain it will be lighter. All you have to focus on is generating quality content.
Now, the good thing about this method is that you don’t have to be a professional writer to do this. It is something anyone can learn and do.
You can see my top recommended way to learn this method here.
Option 2 – Make YouTube tutorials
Making YouTube tutorials can be a great way to earn while traveling. This method is where having a laptop that can edit videos can come in handy. A good camera also helps.

This method is a great way to earn extra cash because there are a lot of videos you can make. But just like the other method, you will also have to figure out the type of tutorial videos you want to make.
The good thing about this method is that it is easier to start because you don’t need a lot of prep work. You just create your YouTube channel, which essentially takes just a few minutes to do. Then, you make the tutorial videos you want and edit them.
Most of the work that will generate income will be about optimizing your channel and promoting your videos so you can get views. This method aims to get people to watch your videos because YouTube will pay you for the number of views you get.
Of course, the more views you get, the more money you will receive. Again, I do have to emphasize that quality is a key factor in this method. You have to make sure you make quality tutorial videos and that you are generating value for the viewer.
Then, as mentioned above, you have to promote your videos to get views. Fortunately, there are many ways to promote your channel and your videos. You can use email market, social media, affiliate links, and more.
Once the traffic starts building, it can lead to a huge earning potential for you.
Option 3 – Data Entry Jobs
Another way to earn while traveling is by doing data entry jobs. These jobs can be done anywhere in the world. As long as you have a stable internet connection, your employer won't care where you are.

They are not that high-paying, but they are easy to do and don't require a lot of experience. Hence, it's not draining, so you can still enjoy your travels after work. Most of these jobs will also let you work on your own schedule, so it's quite a versatile option.
You just have to make sure you submit your deliverables on time. You can find a list of the best data entry jobs here.
Option 4 – Remote Jobs
In general, remote jobs are ideal if you travel frequently or if you just like having the freedom to work from any location you want to without commuting. You just need a laptop and a good internet connection, and you are all set.

And one of the best sites to find remote jobs is FlexJobs. It is an online job board that offers an opportunity for you to find full-time or part-time jobs that can be done remotely. You can find entry-level to executive-level remote jobs once you become a member.
It has a subscription fee, but you can easily recoup it since there are plenty of job offers available.
How to get started?
The two methods I have shared above are methods that I have done myself, so I know that they work. These methods can give you the freedom to work anywhere and earn good money.
But as mentioned earlier, you have to be willing to put in the work and time needed to make these methods successful. The results will not show overnight, but if it is done properly, you will be able to earn decent money, and the work needed to maintain it will be significantly lighter.
Hence, you will be able to enjoy your travels more and more. For a step-by-step guide on how to get started, you can check out the simplest and safest way for a beginner to build a REAL online business.
You will be able to save a lot of time because if you just try to figure these methods out on your own or read blogs about them, there will be no guarantee that you will get the desired results. Believe me, I wasted about a year trying to figure out how to succeed with these methods.
So, following a step-by-step guide can steer you in the right direction and save a lot of time and effort in the process.
