JobHunt App Review – Worth It? (Pros & Cons Revealed)

JobHunt Rating

I don’t really recommend JobHunt because there are not a lot of job offers available. And even though the app’s user interface is simple, the user experience it offers isn’t great because it lacks certain useful features, in my opinion.

JobHunt is a mobile app that claims it can help make your job search easier if you use it. So, if you are job hunting, you might be tempted to install it.

However, before you do, I highly recommend you read this JobHunt app review because it will reveal the pros and cons of the app. That way, you’ll know exactly what to expect from it. And let me just tell you right now that there are a couple of important things you need to know about it.

Then, you can discern if it is worth it or not. So, let’s check out JobHunt, shall we?

What is JobHunt, and what does it offer?

JobHunt is a job board app that will help you find job opportunities you can apply for. And from the looks of it, it is legit. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should use it.

To find out if it is worth it, you must first understand how it works. To do that, we have to take a look at what it offers so you will have a clear idea of how you can potentially earn from it and how good it is.

So, here’s what JobHunt offers.

The earning opportunity – Jobs

Let me just make it clear that what JobHunt offers are just job opportunities from other companies and websites. It doesn’t offer any guaranteed ways to earn. So, for you to potentially earn from what it offers, you must apply for the jobs posted on the app.

jobhunt job offers
You can apply for the jobs offered by the app.

When you log in to the app, you will immediately see all the job offers available for you. From what I observed while testing it, the job offers that were displayed were those related to the profession you chose when you signed up as a member.

So, it’s guaranteed that you will see job opportunities you can potentially apply for. To view the job offer details, just click the job, and you will see most of the important information you need to know about the job.

While testing, I noticed that none of the job offers tell you how much you will earn if you are hired. I understand that this is often discussed at a later stage of the application process, but it would be nice to know beforehand how much you can earn from the job.

It’s the main selling point of the offer. And let’s be honest, the first thing you look for when checking out a job offer is the pay, right? So, it would be more attractive if this piece of information was readily available. At least, that’s how I look at it.

Now, if you are still interested in the job, just click the “External Apply” button and it will take you to the LinkedIn page of the employer, which, again, I found weird. Normally, other job board platforms will take you directly to the application page or application form you must fill out. It’s just one of the disadvantages of JobHunt, in my opinion.

jobhunt premium membership
The benefits of the premium upgrade aren't that great.

JobHunt offers a premium subscription that claims you can submit your application automatically or help you with your resume, but I’m not exactly sure how they can do that since resumes are typically made using a computer. It’s hard to create a quality resume using your mobile device.

The premium membership also claims that it will write a cover letter for you using AI technology, which, based on my experience, is a practice that is frowned upon by employers. You see, employers want to know about your skills, and if you were not the one who wrote your cover letter, then they can’t truly gauge your skills.

So, you are essentially misleading them, which is not a great way to start any job-hunting process, in my opinion. This is why I never even tried to test their premium membership because some of the features it offers are not exactly what you would want from a platform like this, in my opinion.

Plus, it also costs around $12 per month, which is a bit expensive, in my opinion, considering you won’t be getting a lot of benefits from it. There are also not a lot of job offers available. Aside from that, most job offers are for full-time positions, so if you are looking for part-time opportunities, this is not the best option for you.

How do you get paid?

Since you will essentially be working for a different company or business, then expect the payment to be handled by your employer and not JobHunt. JobHunt’s responsibility is just to present you with offers.

Now, based on my experience, companies that hire employees through these platforms usually use a convenient payment method like PayPal or direct bank transfer, so expect to receive your salary through convenient means. And since these jobs are salary-based, then expect that you’ll receive your salary every pay period.

Now, if you are interested in more sites or apps that use a convenient payment system, I recommend you also check out the top sites that pay via direct bank transfer.

How much money can you make?

As explained earlier, you will not know immediately how much you will get paid for the job you apply for because the job offer will not disclose the salary immediately. You’ll have to find out on your own (probably during the interview) if the job pays good money or not.

That’s why it’s hard to gauge the earning potential of the jobs offered on JobHunt. That being said, based on my experience, the jobs offered on these job board platforms usually follow the industry rate, so expect to earn what you are supposed to earn if you get hired.

Can you use it on a desktop?

JobHunt is a mobile-only platform, so you’ll need to use your phone when searching for jobs, which, as explained earlier, isn’t very ideal. The reason why I say this is because the online job application process usually involves the use of a computer since you will eventually have to create a resume and cover letter.

These documents are nearly impossible to make with your phone, which is why I was surprised when I found out that JobHunt doesn’t have a web-based platform. The only feature that’s great for mobile that the app offers is you’ll get notified immediately when there’s a job offer suitable for you.

jobhunt app
The app works on both Android and iOS devices.

As for the app, it is available to both Android and iOS users, and the user interface is relatively simple. In fact, I would even go as far as to say that it is too simple. There are some features and sections that I was expecting to see inside the app that were not available (like the FAQ section or a search function).

So, even though the user interface is simple, the user experience it offers is not that great, in my opinion.

Who can join JobHunt?

You can download and install the app regardless of where you live, but it is only really available to people who live in countries like the UK, US, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, and some countries in Africa.

how to join jobhunt
JobHunt is only available in certain countries.

So, if you don’t live in any of the countries mentioned above, then this is not for you. To sign up as a member, you have to use your Google account. Then, you have to choose your country and profession.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll be offered to become a premium member with a free 3-day trial. After the trial period, you’ll have to pay around $12 (the amount will be converted to your local currency) per month, which is quite expensive, in my opinion.

Now, as explained earlier, the features of the premium membership aren’t that beneficial, so I don’t recommend you go for the premium membership. But since it gives you a 3-day free trial, you can still give it a try if you are curious.

Can you get support?

Earlier, I mentioned that it doesn’t have an FAQ or Help page you can check out, so if you have questions about the app or your account, you must contact the support team instead. The app does offer a way for you to do so. You’ll have to click the Contact Us link inside the app.

However, it will take you to LinkedIn, which I found a bit confusing. I’m not sure if this is an error, but that’s what happened while I was testing it, so I checked out its Google Play page to find another way to contact support.

You can try to send your inquiries via email to hi@jobhunt.work, but I’m not sure if you’ll get any response. Overall, I would say JobHunt doesn’t provide great support to its members since it doesn’t offer a convenient way for you to get in touch with the support team. It also doesn’t help that it doesn’t have an FAQ or Help page you can check out, so there’s a chance that your concerns or issues won’t be resolved.

Final Verdict

JobHunt is a job board platform that will help you find job opportunities. It doesn’t have a lot of great features, only a few drawbacks that you must be aware of.
