Now, to find out if what it offers is the right fit for you, you must first understand how it works. The only way to do that is to examine how you can potentially earn from it. By doing so, it will give you an idea of how good or bad it is.
So, here’s how you can earn from Remotive.
Option 1 – Remote Jobs
As mentioned above, Remotive functions as a remote job platform where you can find various remote job offers. So, for you to earn, you must apply for any of the job offers found on the site.
What’s interesting about Remotive is that it offers this service for free. You don’t have to sign up as a member to apply for the remote job posted on the website. You just need to mention during the interview (if you get to this phase) that you got the lead from Remotive.
When searching for job opportunities, if you see one you are interested in, just click it to see the details page. It will show you the job type, salary, employer information, and the skills and experience needed for the job.
If you think you are the right person for the job, just click the “Apply for this position” button, and it will take you to the employer’s website or application page. Then, just go through the application process, where you will usually have to fill out an application form and submit your resume.
If the employer is interested in hiring you, they will reach out to you via email, so make sure to check your inbox regularly because there’s no timetable as to how long you have to wait to hear back from them. If you hear back from the employer, you will be provided with instructions on how to proceed to the next step of the application.
Normally, just like with any job-hunting process, you’ll have to go through an interview. As mentioned earlier, you must mention that you got the job offer from Remotive. I’m not exactly sure what will happen if you fail to do this because I never got the chance to do so while I was exploring Remotive.

How do you get paid?
If you get hired, your employer will handle the payment method for your salary. Based on my experience, remote jobs usually offer a convenient payment method like PayPal or direct bank transfer. And since they are all salary-based, expect to receive your salary depending on the pay period of your employer.
As for the affiliate program, Remotive will handle the payment for it. You’ll get paid every 15 days if you manage to hit the $100 threshold. If you fail to do so, you must wait for another 15-day period to get paid.
The site doesn’t tell you exactly which payment method it uses, but based on my experience, a site like Remotive usually uses direct bank transfers as a payment method, which is a convenient option, in my opinion.
Overall, you should expect to receive your salary/earnings conveniently since that’s usually the case with remote job platforms, based on my experience. From what I’ve observed while exploring Remotive, most of the job offers have competitive salaries. So, you can expect to earn a decent amount from any job, which is usually the case with remote job platforms, based on my experience.
That being said, don’t count your chickens before they hatch, so to speak, because you have to land the job before you can earn from anything it offers. The affiliate program also pays well, but in all honesty, Remotive is not something I would recommend to other people, and you will understand why later.
Can you use it on mobile?
Remotive doesn’t have a mobile app you can download, but it is mobile-friendly. So, you can search for jobs conveniently using your mobile app.
However, I urge you to use your computer instead because you’ll have to fill out an application form if you find a job you are interested in, which is best done on a computer, in my opinion. Plus, keep in mind that you must upload your resume when you submit your application.
Unless you keep a copy of your resume on your phone, then it is best done while you are on a computer, in my opinion.
Who can join Remotive?
Earlier, I mentioned that you don’t actually have to sign up as a member to apply for remote jobs. The problem is that if you opt for the free method, you’ll only have access to a limited number of remote job offers at any given time. So, your options are quite limited.
That’s why if you want to increase your chances of finding the right remote job, you must become a premium member, which is a bit expensive, in my opinion (refer to the photo below). The good thing is that the premium membership only requires a one-time payment.
It will cost $158 to access the full database of remote job offers. But as you can see in the photo above, Remotive regularly offers discounts for the premium membership, which usually brings the price down to $79.
Aside from getting access to the full remote jobs database, you’ll also gain access to a few features (advanced search, email notifications, career coaching, and access to a private Slack community) that will make your job search a bit easier.
The premium membership is a bit expensive, in my opinion, and I don’t like the fact that it doesn’t offer a lot of benefits for the free user. I have tested a few other remote job platforms over the years, and they usually offer more job opportunities for free users, which is why Remotive is not something I would recommend to other people.
As for the jobs offered, most of them will require you to be a resident of a certain country to qualify. So, even though Remotive is available globally, the actual opportunities you will be qualified for will depend on the country you live in. So, keep that in mind when you decide if it is the right fit for you.
Can you get support?
As a free user, you will not have access to any form of support from Remotive because it doesn’t have a FAQ or Help page you can check out. If you have questions, you must send your inquiry via email. You can do so by clicking the email icon at the bottom of the website.
If you are a premium member, as mentioned earlier, you’ll have access to the private Slack community where you can chat with a representative directly. You’ll also gain access to career coaching, which is the best thing you can get from their premium membership, in my opinion.
Overall, if you are a free user, then don’t expect to get a lot of help from Remotive. But if you are a premium member, then you can get decent support from them, in my opinion.
