SolidGigs Review – Worth It or Not? (What to Expect)

SolidGigs Rating

SolidGigs is a good tool to use to find job opportunities as a freelancer, but only if you can afford it. Its subscription rate is a bit pricey for my liking, and it doesn’t offer anything you can’t do on your own.

SolidGigs is a website that claims you can find freelance job leads once you become a member. So, if you are a freelancer looking for work, you might want to consider using it. However, before you hit the sign-up button, I highly suggest you read this SolidGigs review.

It will show you what SolidGigs offers. It’s the best way to know exactly what to expect from it before you even join. Then, you can figure out if it is worth it or not.

So, let’s dive in.

What is SolidGigs, and what does it offer?

As their website says, SolidGigs is not a freelance marketplace like Upwork or Fiverr. Instead, it is a lead-generation tool for finding freelance gigs. And yes, it is legit since it can really give you leads which can lead to earning opportunities.

Now, the question is, is it worth your time? Well, the only way to find out is to understand how it works. And the best way to do that is to take a look at the opportunity it offers so you will have a clear idea of how it works and how well you can benefit from it.

So, here’s how SolidGigs works.

The earning opportunity – Lead generation

Technically speaking, SolidGigs doesn’t offer any earning opportunities. As mentioned above, it serves as a tool for finding freelance job leads, so all it does is help you find freelance job opportunities.

how solidgigs works
SolidGigs acts as a lead-generation tool you can use to conveniently find opportunities to earn as a freelancer.

Once you become a member of SolidGigs, all you have to do to start getting leads is set up SolidGigs' search parameters. During this step, you can adjust the location, salary, types of jobs, and more.

Once the search parameters are set, SolidGigs will use a team of “gig hunters” together with AI matching tools to find the best leads for you. They will search job boards, social media platforms, marketplaces, and more to find leads.

Once they find leads that match your preferences, they will send you the details through the member dashboard. You’ll also receive an email when this happens, so you can check your email inbox regularly to see if you have leads.

If you decide to act on a lead, just log in to the member dashboard of SolidGigs and go to the Leads section. Then, click the “Send Pitch” button and it will take you to the source of the freelance job opportunity.

This is where SolidGigs’ responsibilities end. As for whether you can convert the lead into an earning opportunity, that will totally be up to you. And just like with any job-hunting process, you’ll have to go through the application, interview, and hopefully, onboarding phase.

I do have to say that SolidGigs does a good job of finding leads for you. However, what they are doing isn’t irreplaceable. You can actually search for opportunities on your own. All it does is offer a convenient way for you to get leads so that you don’t have to spend a lot of time looking for job opportunities.

How do you get paid?

Just to make it clear, you will not earn anything from SolidGigs. The money you will earn will come from outside the platform, specifically, from the companies that hire you.

So, you can expect that the payment system that will be used will be the payment system your employer prefers. But typically, based on my experience, you and your employer can negotiate which payment method will be used to pay you.

Usually, employers like to use convenient payment methods like PayPal, Payeer, AirTM, or direct bank transfer, so you should be able to receive your earnings conveniently. Plus, we are talking about salary-based opportunities here, so you won’t have to hit a threshold just to receive your earnings.

One good thing about SolidGigs, in my opinion, is that it won’t take a cut from what you earn from the leads you get. Later, you will understand why.

Now, if you are interested in sites that use a convenient payment system, I recommend you also check out the top sites that pay via AirTM.

How much money can you make?

As explained earlier, when setting the search parameters, you can indicate your preferred salary, so you are guaranteed to earn the amount you prefer from the leads you will get from SolidGigs. As to whether you can convert the leads that will be given to you is an entirely different matter.

And based on my experience, landing jobs as a freelancer will mostly depend on your skill level and experience. If you are just starting as a freelancer, it will be quite hard to compete with experienced freelancers and they will typically get the job instead of you.

But if you are patient enough, you will eventually find opportunities that are a good fit for you. However, if you are going to use SolidGigs, you have to factor in its monthly subscription (more about this later). Yes, SolidGigs is not free. You must pay to use it. This is also the reason why SolidGigs won’t take a cut from your earnings because they’ve already made money from you through the subscription fee.

So, if you want to profit from it, you must convert some of the leads that will be given to you by the site. I’m personally not a fan of this kind of tool because you might end up losing money instead of earning.

You must have a solid plan to earn back the money you spent to use SolidGigs. The only way to do that, as mentioned above, is to convert some leads into earning opportunities.

Overall, I would say the earning potential of SolidGigs is not that great because you have to factor in the monthly subscription you are paying just to get the leads. Plus, there’s also the added pressure to convert at least one of the leads just to earn back the money you spent on the subscription.

Can you use it on mobile?

SolidGigs doesn’t have a mobile app you can download, but you can still access the member dashboard using a mobile device since it is optimized for mobile use, so you can actually check the leads using your mobile device.

This makes it quite convenient to use because you don’t have to sit in front of a computer just to see if the leads that were given to you are of any good or not.

Who can join SolidGigs?

The site doesn’t tell you which countries it is available in, but from what I can tell, it is available more or less worldwide. So, you should be able to sign up as a member regardless of where you live. But as mentioned earlier, using it will cost you.

solidgigs rates
You have to pay a subscription fee to use SolidGigs.

As you can see in the photo above, it costs $35 a month to avail of their services. If you want to get a one-year subscription, it will cost less ($21/month). It’s a bit on the pricey side, in my opinion, so you really need to make sure you can convert at least one good lead every month just to earn back the money you spent on the subscription fee.

It’s also the reason why its earning potential isn’t that great. The registration process is relatively straightforward. You just have to fill out the registration form, pay for the subscription and you are good to go.

Then, as explained earlier, you must set up the search parameters that SolidGigs will follow when searching for leads. After you’ve done this, then all you must do is wait for them to reach out to you when they have collected leads.

Can you get support?

SolidGigs doesn’t have a FAQ or Help page. All it has is a “How it works” section that briefly explains how the site works. So, chances are, you will definitely have questions regarding the ins and outs of the site.

When this happens, you must get in touch with the support team to resolve your concerns. To do so, you must click the Message icon at the lower right of the site. This will open the message window where you can chat with a support representative or send your inquiry via email.

You can also use the contact form provided by the site to submit your questions. Overall, I would say the site does provide decent support to its members since it offers a couple of convenient ways for you to ask for help.

However, I do wish they would at least have a Help or FAQ page to minimize the instances of having to contact support.

Final Verdict

SolidGigs is a site that will help you find legit freelance job opportunities. It has a couple of good features, but it also has some drawbacks you must consider.

Let me finalize this review by summarizing its pros and cons so you can get a clear overview of what it offers. Then, you can decide if it is truly worth it or not.

pros

Pros:

  • Offers a convenient way for you to find job opportunities
  • Available worldwide
cons

Cons:

  • Its subscription fee is a bit pricey
  • Doesn’t offer guaranteed ways to earn

In my opinion, SolidGigs is a good tool to use to find job opportunities as a freelancer, but only if you can afford it. Its subscription rate is a bit pricey for my liking, and it doesn’t offer anything you can’t do on your own. All it offers is convenience, in my opinion.

That’s why I would only recommend you use it if you have the budget. Otherwise, you are better off looking for job opportunities on your own on the best freelance sites instead.
