Swagbucks vs Freecash – which is the better site?
I have been asked this question many times. That’s why I’ve decided to finally settle this so you can decide which site to go for.
In this guide, I will show a side-by-side comparison between the two sites so you will know what both of them have to offer so you can see which site offers the most advantages. That way, you’ll be able to discern which one suits your needs.
I have tested a lot of ways to earn money online for free (including both Swagbucks and Freecash), so everything I will be sharing in this guide will be based on my experience. So, without further ado, let’s go ahead and start the comparison.

What is a GPT site?
Before we talk about the differences between the two sites, it is important we first understand what these sites are.
In case you don’t know, Swagbucks and Freecash are both examples of a Get-Paid-To (GPT) site.
A GPT site is an online platform that you can join for free, and it offers ways for you to earn through the micro tasks it offers. Usually, you can earn by answering surveys, signing up for websites, playing games, testing other mobile apps, watching videos, and more.
And two of the most popular GPT sites are Swagbucks and Freecash. So, which one is better? Let’s find out.
Who can join?
The good thing about Swagbucks and Freecash is that both sites are available more or less worldwide. So, you’ll be able to sign up as a member regardless of where you live.
However, on Swagbucks, some of the earning opportunities it offers are only available in certain countries (I will discuss more of this later). In general, though, most of the earning opportunities it offers are available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and Ireland.
But that doesn’t mean that if you live in a country not mentioned above, you won’t be able to earn anything. All I’m saying is that your earning potential will be significantly better if you live in one of the countries mentioned above.
As for Freecash, the opportunities to earn are more balanced. It is important to note though that in general, the earning opportunities that GPT sites offer will vary from country to country. That’s just what I have observed after testing hundreds of GPT sites over the years.
But if you decide to go for any or both of the GPT sites, I highly recommend you don’t try to fake the country you live in using a VPN service just to gain access to more opportunities. Both sites have great security measures that will be able to identify if you are using a VPN.
And when that happens, your account will get banned and you will forfeit all the rewards you’ve earned. So, you’ll essentially just be wasting your time. That’s why you should not even bother cheating your location because they will eventually find out.
Also, it is fraud and you are stealing from the owners of the sites by doing something like this, and that can not be excused for any reason, in my opinion.
Joining bonuses compared
When choosing which site to go for, one factor to consider is the joining bonus, and both sites offer this. But the question is, which site has a better joining bonus?
For Freecash, you'll get a chance to win up to $250 in cash. It may sound like a lot, but you must remember that this is not a guarantee. The minimum amount you can win will be $0.05.

As for Swagbucks, they have a different joining bonus depending on the country you live in. In most countries, you’ll receive a $3 joining bonus (if you join through the link below) if you manage to earn at least $3 in the first 30 days of using the site.
But in the countries mentioned earlier, you will receive $5 as a joining bonus instead. But, you will have to earn at least $25 to receive this bonus.

While Swagbucks clearly offers a higher guaranteed joining bonus, you need to meet certain conditions, so it is not so easy.
That’s why I would say that the answer to the question posed above will mostly depend on you. In my opinion, if you can’t commit to staying active for the first month, then Freecash is the better option because you’ll receive the bonus right away. After all, something is better than nothing, right?
On the other hand, if you are serious about earning and you can commit the time needed to earn the amount required to receive the reward, then, Swagbucks is the better option, unless you are lucky and get one of the joining bonuses that are worth a lot.
Common earning methods compared
Now, let’s break down all the earning opportunities both sites offer, and let’s do a side-by-side comparison so you can see the difference. This is the best way to see which site offers better earning methods for you.
#1 – Offerwalls
Both Swagbucks and Freecash have offerwalls available. In case you don’t know what an offerwall is, it is an in-site advertising platform that offers multiple ways for you to earn. Usually, these offerwalls will offer micro-tasks in exchange for rewards.
These micro-tasks are designed to promote other websites or mobile apps, so you can expect that most (if not all) of the tasks will involve having to sign up as a member of another website, play a mobile game, or try out other mobile apps.
In Freecash’s case, they have around 5 to 10 offerwalls available at any given time. Now, keep in mind that this number will depend on the country you live in because some offerwalls will not be available in certain countries.
The same is true with Swagbucks. There are more or less around 5 to 10 offerwalls (more if you live in the countries mentioned earlier) available at any given time, depending on your country. So, in terms of the number of offerwalls available, there’s not a huge gap between the two.
But the best indication of which offerwalls are better will be to take a look at which one pays more. There is also one thing you need to know about offerwalls. You can find many of the same offers on offerwalls on both platforms.
And, it is important to note that you can’t work on the same offer on both platforms. You have to pick one because the offerwall that posted the offer will be able to track down if you did the same offer on both Freecash and Swagbucks. If that happens, you won’t get paid for either one.
That is why you have to choose which one to go for. And this is where the site that pays more comes in handy. When I was doing my comparison, I noticed that Freecash pays more, and from what I can gather, you, in some cases, can earn almost twice the amount from Freecash compared to Swagbucks.
So, for this earning method, Freecash has the advantage because you can earn more from the same offer.
#2 – Paid surveys
Another earning opportunity that both sites have in common is paid surveys. And from what I’ve observed, there’s no clear gap between the two.
It is important to note though that this earning method is not the same as the offerwalls. Meaning, there’s a low chance that you will find the same survey on both sites. I’m not saying that this can’t happen, but it’s a rare occurrence.
So, in this case, you can join both sites to gain access to more surveys. And in terms of how much you can earn from each survey on both sites, from what I have observed, they are pretty much neck and neck.
There’s no clear indication of which site offers higher-paying surveys. That’s why I would say that in terms of paid surveys, it’s a tie.
Other earning methods compared
Now that we’ve discussed the most common earning methods found on both sites let’s discuss the other earning methods found on either site.
For Freecash, the bulk of your earnings will mostly come from offerwalls and paid surveys.
But Swagbucks, offers other earning methods that can’t be found on Free cash. However, these earning methods will vary from country to country, so I can’t say exactly which ones will be available to you.
For example, in some countries, you will find cashback offers you can avail yourself of. So, if you like to shop online, Swagbucks is the more ideal option because you can also earn rewards while shopping.
In some countries, you will also get paid to search the internet. Swagbucks will not pay you a lot to do this, but it is still an additional earning method you can use to earn more rewards.
In general, I would say that Swagbucks has a higher number of earning opportunities offered which can result in more ways to earn. But again, it will all depend on which country you live in. You may live in a country where these opportunities are not available.
Bonus opportunities compared
Both sites will also allow you to earn bonuses when you keep being an active member, but they present it in different ways. For Freecash their bonus opportunities are presented in the form of “Leaderboards”.
If you are among their top earners daily and monthly, you will receive additional rewards. For their daily leaderboards, they hand out $500 for the top earners with the 1st place getting $50. For their monthly leaderboards, they hand out $2,500 to the top earners, with the 1st place getting $250.
As for Swagbucks, their bonus rewards are presented in the form of a member recognition program. If you stay active on the site, your membership level will eventually increase and for each level you gain, you will receive different benefits like one-time bonuses.
So, to compare, Freecash has a more competitive bonus rewards program, while Swagbucks has a more inclusive one. To figure out which is better will really depend on your preference. If you are the competitive type, then Freecash has better bonus opportunities.
But if you prefer guaranteed bonuses, Swagbucks is the better option, in my opinion, because you will eventually get the bonuses as long as you stay active on the site.
Payment methods compared
Now that we’ve discussed how you’ll earn from both sites, it’s time we compare how you can take out your earnings. When it comes to cashout options, there are some important differences you need to be aware of.
For Freecash, you will need to earn a minimum of $5 to get paid via PayPal. If you want to convert your earnings to crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, LiteCoin, or Dogecoin), you will only need to earn $0.50 to do so.
You also have the option to convert your rewards to various gift cards. The threshold you need to reach will depend on the gift card you want to redeem, but in general, it will be around $5 to $10 usually.
Plus, withdrawing your rewards from Freecash will typically happen immediately once your account has been approved.
As for Swagbucks, the cashout options will depend on the country you live in. In some countries, you will be able to cash out via PayPal or Payoneer. You can also convert your rewards to various gift cards.
If you want to withdraw your earnings via PayPal, the threshold will usually be $10. In some countries, it will only be $5. The same is true if you want to redeem gift cards instead.
You can expect to receive your earnings within 3 to 5 business days, so it takes a bit longer for you to receive your earnings from Swagbucks. One great thing about Swagbucks, though, is that some of their rewards will be on sale at times. That means these rewards will require fewer Swagbucks points to redeem, so you can redeem more.
Overall, if you prefer a site that pays quickly, Freecash is the preferable option. But if you want more reward options, Swagbucks is the better option, in my opinion.
Final Verdict
Now that we’ve compared all the important features of both sites, it’s time we sum up our findings.
In my opinion, it’s a bit hard to give an exact answer for which site is the absolute best. It will all boil down to your preferences and the country you live in.

I use both so I can gain access to more opportunities to earn. In my opinion, it doesn’t have to be one or the other. You can use both to your own benefit. You just have to remember that in some earning opportunities (like offerwalls), you have to pick which one to go for.
