Tapestri no longer works
The Tapestri website no longer works, and the app is no longer on Google Play or the App Store, so you cannot join or earn with it now. Even before that, I strongly recommended staying away from it: Tapestri paid me several times in the past, but then it stopped paying me even though it owed me more than $100, and its support stopped replying. I keep my review below as a record. The apps I would pick instead are further down.
Tapestri was an app that paid you to let it collect your location data in the background. It stopped paying me, and now its website and app are gone too. I tested it myself for months before that and was paid by it several times. I used to like it because it was so easy, but I found it was definitely not a fast way to earn.

But then it stopped paying me, even though it owed me more than $100, and its support stopped replying. It used to be an app I liked and recommended because it was so easy, but after that, I strongly recommended staying away from it.

My experience with Tapestri
I installed Tapestri, let it run in the background and tried its other ways to earn for months. I was paid several times, and then the payments stopped. This is what I did myself, and what I did not test.

Was Tapestri legit and safe?
Tapestri no longer works. It did pay me several times, but then it stopped paying me and stopped replying. These were the problems.
- It no longer works
The Tapestri website no longer works, and the app is no longer on Google Play or the App Store. Tapestri made no announcement about it that I could find.
- It stopped paying me
I have been paid by Tapestri in the past. But then I was not paid for months, even though it owed me $100+. I reached out to their support about this, and they just gave me some kind of lame excuse that did not make sense. I wrote them again and asked further questions, and I never heard back from them. Therefore, I must conclude that they are not intending to pay me.
- Support stopped replying
I have been in contact with them several times, and the experiences have been mixed. They usually replied fairly quickly, but often the replies were not great. Then I contacted them about the missing rewards, and about them trying to charge my card several times for my affiliate membership, and they never got back to me about any of it.
- A very high payout threshold
In the Geo 1 and 2 countries, which had the most earning opportunities, you needed at least $65 to withdraw. It used to be only $10, and this huge increase was definitely not a great move and not very user-friendly, in my opinion.
- Readers report the same
11 readers wrote between April 2023 and April 2024 that they were not paid, or that their payment was pushed back month after month. Several of them also wrote that support did not reply.
My takeTapestri no longer works, so it is not an option. Even before that, it was an app and platform I strongly recommended staying away from, because it stopped paying me and did not reply to my support tickets. There seemed to be no guarantee you would get paid, and if you ran into issues, you could not expect help. See the alternatives below.
How you earned on Tapestri

Running the app in the backgroundUp to around $25 a month
Once you installed the app, you just had to allow it to determine your location all the time. Whether you were picking up milk, taking kids to soccer, or filling up the tank, the app could see your movement and understand your mobile activity throughout your day. It only collected data about your location, anonymously, so it did not gather sensitive information like your banking details or passwords.
So once the app was installed, you did not have to do anything special. You were effectively earning passively. Some people do not like an app that tracks where they go, even anonymously. But I think many apps already do this without us knowing it and without us getting paid for it. At least Tapestri was transparent about what it did.
Paid surveysVaried by survey
You answered a few qualifying questions first, and if you qualified, you got the survey. Based on my experience, the countries with more surveys were the US, the UK and Canada.
When I was testing the app, there were not a lot of surveys available. That is just how paid surveys work, so if you saw a survey available, I suggest answering it immediately if you wanted to maximize your earnings.
Playing gamesSmall rewards per minute
You earned a reward per minute you played a featured game. But what the app did not tell you is that the longer you kept playing a specific game, the fewer rewards you earned.
This system was designed to motivate you to try out other games quickly, because that is how the app got paid. If you just stuck to one game, the app did not earn a lot from you.
Map check-insLow
The Map section showed locations that offered rewards when you checked in. Think of this opportunity as a bonus. You could not go to a specific location just to check in, because it would not be cost-effective, and the rewards were not that high.
In my opinion, this was suited for people who moved around the city a lot.
Referral and affiliate programDepended on your referral’s country
You earned a small reward when someone joined through your link, and the referral program had two tiers. The affiliate program worked the same way and paid better, but you had to pay a fee to become an affiliate.
With the paid upgrade, you got a recurring reward every month for as long as your referral stayed active, instead of a one-time reward. It was a decent way to boost your earnings, but you had to be committed to using the app to earn back the amount you spent. After Tapestri stopped paying me, I definitely did not recommend upgrading.

How much could you make?
It depended on how active you were and how often you moved around your city. You could potentially earn as much as $25 a month just by moving around while the app ran in the background, and you could add to that with the other ways to earn. I was paid for the first time after testing it for around 4 months, so it took a lot of patience.
You could also upgrade your membership to earn more. It used to cost $19.95 a year in Geo 1 and 2 and $4.95 in Geo 3, and later it cost $19.95 no matter where you lived.
Overall, I would say the earning potential of Tapestri used to be ok, as long as you were an active member and moved around the city a lot. But considering I have not been paid what they owe me, it is not an app I recommend as a way to earn, as there seems to be no guarantee you will get paid.

You earned Tapestri coins and withdrew them once you had enough. The minimum depended on your country.

I liked that you could withdraw your earnings in a couple of ways. But the $2.25+1% fee on Stripe meant you did not receive the full amount, and then I experienced some big issues with the payment system: I was not paid for months, even though they owed me $100+. As I explain in the review above, Tapestri is no longer a platform I recommend and I definitely also do not recommend upgrading.
Here’s what happened when I joined:
It didn’t take me very long to reach the $10 minimum threshold stated in the FAQ, but I did not receive the automatic payment at the beginning of the next month as stated in the app and the FAQ. I started investigating to see what I had done wrong, and lo and behold, when I logged into my wallet, it stated that the minimum threshold was now $25.
So, I kept going, and when I reached $25, once again, I did not receive automatic payment at the beginning of the next month. I checked my wallet again, and now it’s a $65 minimum threshold.
I’ve now got $89 in there and they have not responded to my support messages. In fact, when I look for them, there aren’t any – so either they deleted them, or they just disappeared into cyberspace. There is no support. And, I’m sorry to say, there is no payment.
Furthermore, I was foolish enough to pay for the $20 upgrade, and they don’t provide a way to cancel it on the website.

As I mention in the review above, the threshold has been $65 in some countries for a long time. Also, I have been paid by it several times myself. But I agree the support and the conditions definitely could be better.
Since the new update, my tapestri won’t open work. It just comes up with a picturebof buildings and the people emojis, bit won’t continue to the app. I can’t earn anything, because it won’t open.

I have played games under Offers and achieved the requirements but never received the points into my wallet. Do the Offer points go somewhere else?
No, they should go into your wallet. If you have problems, you need to contact their support.
I am a tapestri member for almost 2yrs now. But haven’t been paid ever since. I still have $97 but i can withdraw it or send to my stripe wallet account. I’m so disappointed with this app.

When I contacted their support about this same issue, they eventually got back to me saying that they would pay me as soon as their clients paid them. Funny, that contingency wan’t explained up front.

I have had the app. For a year now and have never been paid once. I have stripe set up on my phone, my wife opted for the gift card which she was never sent. Emailed twice an never got a response. Haven’t deleted the app you but don’t bother checking in at places I go. Disappointed
As you can see in the video in the review above, I have been paid by Tapestri. But it also took a lot of patience, and it is definitely not a fast way to earn.
Havent got payed any jet! I started this app early april. So far i am up more than 40. I did have more but some was taken away. So trange. I even got the GPS on all the time. I checked my stripe account but nothing. I have gotten 8 referrals but not extra earnings!

Been using the app for 5 months invited 48 referrals im a paid affiliate still not received 1 cent,
Im not sure if this app is legitimate they added the $48 then removed the money i got in contact with them through the affiliate support group on Facebook,
Was told referrals have the be active for 30 days before I get paid 5 months latter not even $1 for referrals,
And no payment for my activities on the app.

I have just been paid by them for the first time last week. I will soon publish a video on my YouTube channel where I show the proof and talk more about the earning potential after having tested it for 4 months now.
I can’t ev n get into my back office. I am not hearing anything from customer service after contacting them. Such a poor business! I’ve not gotten any money since Sept of 2022. I’m ready to delete my app very soon!

An app to track where people go everyday…even if it’s anonymous it can be dangerous information..if you have enough data to support it..don’t like it wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Do it at your own risk. I joined before they launched in 2021. Built a team 2 levels deep. I left it on my phone, turned on, but ignored it, since most of my recruits left from so many problems. Sep ’22, I get an email that I need to open my payment acct, because I have over $200 sitting there. I did so immediately, before month end. All that did was start a long string of emails each month from someone at the top, each time promising me I would get paid. At one point he said they were waiting for funding. What is that supposed to mean? He, again, promised I was on the list in Feb ’23…and here it is Apr ’23 with that $270+ still sitting in my acct. I’m trying to find out how to file a BBB complaint, because I’ve heard lots of the same stories.

Same here. While I didn’t join before they launch as I was waiting to see how legit it was, so I joined in February 2022. And I have NOT been paid at all since. I have “money” on my account and getting emails promising that I will be paid to no avail. I also observed that the money I had there decreased as well. When I asked why they just said that I will be paid 20th June 2023. Today is the 22nd and I am yet to even receive an email to say why I wasn’t paid. Every month there is an issue with payment at one point they were blaming Openode for none payments. I changed to gift card option and still no payment. I conclude that it couldn’t have been Openode at all since its almost 4 month now since Openode have been removed and still no payment. Additionally, they ignore your emails. I have been emailing them for sometime with no response, after giving them a review on Google Play thats when they started to respond. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. Also so if you find out how to file a BBB complaint please share.
Be aware that the payout can take 5-7 business days to be processed after the 20th. They explain this on their website. And I just checked and can see they have added Stripe as an option instead of Openode. Let’s hope that will work smooth. I will also keep checking and update the review accordingly. Please keep me updated in about a week or so about whether you received your payment or not.
So I delayed my response to allow even more time to elapse. Today the 1st of July and still no payment. All I have been getting for the past 3-4 months are empty promises that I will get paid on the 20th of the month. You mentioned Stripe but 2 things: it doesn’t apply to all countries and 2 when I contacted them to get it set up they were unable to get it resolved so I had no choice but to select Gift Card. Based on my experience with them (Tapestri) they are dishonest and don’t communicate well.
