If you have been looking for survey and Get-Paid-To sites to earn some extra money, it is likely that you have come across ySense.
But is ySense legit and really a great and easy way to make some extra money online, or is it a scam to stay away from?
I am myself a long-term member of the platform and have tested it thoroughly, and I am still using it daily.
So let me just reveal right away that ySense is legit, and it does pay you – I have been paid many times myself, and will show payment proof later.
However, this does not necessarily mean it will be the right option for you.
This 2025 ySense review will give you all the details you need to know to decide whether it is worth it for you or not.
My review is a bit long as the platform offers many things, and I want to cover as much as possible to give you all the info you need to make a decision about joining or not. But if you are the impatient type, you can just scroll down to the conclusion:-)

What is ySense, and what opportunities does the site offer?
So, let's start with the name – the platform used to be called ClixSense.
ClixSense was started in 2007. Initially, it was started as a PTC site (paid to click) and was mainly seen as a PTC site for many years. Personally, I was not a big fan of the PTC side of ClixSense, and, therefore, mainly focused on other opportunities on the site.
In the middle of 2017, ClixSense made some big changes. This included getting rid of the PTC side, as that kind of business has a bad reputation, and ClixSense, therefore, decided to move forward without that aspect.
Personally, it is a choice I was very happy with, as it was not a great opportunity anyways, and I think it shows a lot about how serious ClixSense was about developing the platform and keeping moving forward.
Then, in August 2019, they made some more big changes – they rebranded themselves with a new name and moved to a new domain (ysense.com). So, the platform is now called ySense.
Most of the options are the same, but there have been some great updates, and ySense has continually rolled out new improvements since it took the new name.
Let me just reveal right away that if you are wondering whether ySense is real or fake, you do not have to worry about that. It is indeed a legit and real way to earn, and it is safe – I have been paid by it many times myself (you can see payment proof in the video later in this review).
But that does not mean it is necessarily the right option for you. So, let's look into what opportunities ySense now offers so you can find out if you should join or not.
For that, I have made a video that gives you an inside look and shows exactly how it works and how to use it step-by-step. You can also read all the details below the video:

Option 1 – ySense Surveys
The best way to earn on ySense is by taking paid surveys.
It usually gives plenty of daily opportunities for doing paid surveys as it has partnered with many different survey providers.

Be aware that you will not qualify for all the surveys that are available. I mention this as I know how frustrating it can be to click on available surveys and then not qualify.
Just bear in mind that the availability of surveys will depend on where you are from, your age, etc. This goes for all survey sites, so it is not just on ySense that you will not qualify for all surveys.
So if you click surveys, and they are not available, just be patient and keep clicking – it takes a short time to check if they are available, and there will, in most cases, be many available ones, and usually, they are pretty well paid in relation to the time spent compared to other survey sites.
After a while, you will also figure out what kind of surveys you usually qualify for, and then you can just ignore the others, so as not to waste your time. That is what I do.
As you can see in the image above, the rewards you get vary a lot from survey to survey and can also vary from country to country. But overall, the surveys you can find on ySense pay quite well compared to many other survey sites.
Also, be aware that in addition to the surveys you can see, there is also a section right below the surveys where you can see the survey routers ySense has partnered with.
There are several sections here, and it can be a great way to find extra opportunities.
ySense has improved this since it first launched and has continuously added new survey partners, so you can now find a lot of paid surveys here. So, you should make sure to check that out.
ySense has also added the opportunity to take a daily poll. This short question will only take you a second to answer, and you will receive $0.01.
This is something you should make sure to do every day. You will find the daily poll by scrolling to the bottom of the ySense survey page.
Option 2 – Paid Offers
ySense has a whole section with paid offers. It used to have a large number of different offerwalls, but now, the offers and offerwalls are very limited, so you won't earn a lot from this opportunity.

If you're new to this type of earning opportunity, let me explain what paid offers are. Offers can include trying new products or services, downloading apps, playing games, signing up for websites, watching videos, and entering free contests, among other options.
Before you take an offer, you can see what the conditions are and how much the reward will be. Offers can be a great way to boost your earnings. Some of them give small rewards, but there are also some that give really high rewards, so it is worth checking out the different offers regularly.
Just make sure to read all the conditions for the offers you are interested in before taking them, so you know exactly what you have to do to get your reward. Some offers have great conditions and are very easy to take, and others are, in my opinion, not worth taking. So, make sure you know what the conditions are.
Option 3 – Referral Program
You can also earn money by inviting other people to ySense.
They used to have a great referral program where ySense would pay you a 20% commission on whatever the people you refer earn. If you had more than 100 referrals that had been active within the last 30 days, you would get 25%, and if you had more than 200, you would get a 30% commission.
However, this suddenly changed without notice, and you will now just earn 10% commission no matter what. It is now standard, but it used to be a better referral program than on many sites.
The commission will NOT affect what the person you refer earns, as the bonus will be paid by ySense to thank you for inviting somebody else.
Option 4 – ySense Watch (Watch Videos)
One of the newer additions to the earning opportunities is ySense Watch. This is a section where you can earn simply by watching videos.

You simply choose your preferred video topic/channel, and there are relevant topics, almost no matter your preferences.
You will then be taken to content within that category and have to stay and watch a video for a certain amount of time. There will be a timer that tells you when you can move on to the next video.
You have to watch several videos to get your reward, and you can all the time follow how many you have left before you will get paid. Usually, it will be 7-10 videos.
Usually, this will pay you $0.02-$0.03. So, it is not huge earnings, but it is still quite good compared to many other sites that offer videos as an earning option. And the good thing about this option is that you can always find a way to earn, even though it is not a lot you can earn, but at least it is entertaining at the same time.
Just be aware that currently, this option is only available in the US. ySense is working on making this option available in more countries as soon as possible, but if you cannot find ySense Watch when you log in, it is simply because it is not available in your country yet.
However, if you want to earn by watching videos in other countries, you can find an option to do this in the offerwall section.
The offerwall called Adscend will give you the option to earn by watching videos – you just need to know that you will not earn a lot by doing that, but it can be an entertaining way to earn.
Option 5 – Activity Bonus
ySense offers a great extra earning possibility that puts it apart from many other survey sites.
If you have a certain activity every day, you will get an extra bonus called the Daily Checklist Bonus. I will go into the details about this below, as it is a big topic and needs its own section.
It is free to sign up and participate in all the offers ySense has.
Option 6 – Get Paid to Play
Getting paid to play games on your mobile phone is one of the newer earning opportunities on ySense.
However, it is only available through the ySense app (more about the app later).
But if you like playing games on your phone, then this can be a great way to earn at the same time.
Once you have logged into the app, you just go to the “discover” section and choose “playtime rewards”.
Here, you can find different games you can download, and you will then get paid for every minute you play. Before downloading any app, ySense clearly shows how much you will get per minute and how much you can earn overall from each game.
Overall, the playtime rewards option on ySense is one of the best I have seen out of all the apps I have tested that offer such rewards. So, if you like playing games, this is an option to check out.

What is the Daily Checklist Bonus?
As mentioned above, ySense has something called a daily checklist bonus that can be a great way to earn some extra money.
When you first join, it might seem a bit confusing, but it is pretty simple. But to make it easier for you, and so you will know from the beginning, I will now explain how it works and how much extra it can make you.
In short, it is a bonus where you can make up to 16% of your earnings, and it will be added to your account at the end of each day if you qualify for the bonus that day.

It is not that difficult to qualify. On your account page, you can all the time see how close you are to getting the bonus that specific day (see picture above).
To get the bonus, you have to either take 2 surveys or 2 offers.
However, as not everyone has the same opportunities to do surveys or offers, you can combine these to qualify for the checklist bonus.
So, you can also qualify for the bonus by taking 1 survey + 1 offer.
If you fulfill one of the options above, you will earn the daily checklist bonus and get 12% into your account at the end of the day.
You will have the chance to add extra to this bonus. You can earn an extra 2% by installing the ySense addon, which is an extension for your browser.
This used to only be available for Chrome when it was ClixSense, but now it is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, which is a great expansion, in my opinion.
It is an add-on that will give you notifications when there are new surveys, new tasks, etc. You need to have it actively running for 1 hour on a day where you also qualify for the checklist bonus, and then you will get 2% extra.
The browser extension not only helps you get the bonus, but it is also a great way to keep updated about new opportunities posted on ySense without having to log in often.
Finally, you can earn 2% by getting an activity bonus by completing the checklist bonus 3 days in a row. Be aware that if you fail to qualify for the checklist on a day, the activity bonus will be reset (see the picture below for an overview).

So, by having a certain activity on ySense, you have the chance to get an extra 16% into your account. Any day you meet the requirements for the bonus, it will be transferred to your account at the end of the same day.
This is a nice bonus and not something many survey sites offer.
How do you get paid?
Every time you do a survey, take an offer, play games, or do anything else on ySense, you will earn dollars.
The payout method is one of the biggest changes after ySense was rebranded from ClixSense. You used to be able to get your money paid out through Payoneer, Skrill, Dwolla, Tangocard, or a check.
One of the big changes when it was launched as ySense was that it started to offer payouts via PayPal. This is the preferred payout method for many on survey and Get-Paid-To sites, so great that they have made this possible.
And the payout threshold for PayPal is fairly low, as you only need to earn $10 to cash out through PayPal. And it will still take too long to get to this on ySense.
ySense has, however, also introduced payout methods with a lower threshold than it used to have as ClixSense. You can now get Amazon gift cards already when you have earned $5 (for Amazon DE, it is even lower at €1). One of the newest gift card rewards it has introduced is Steam gift cards – Steam cards are, however, mainly available in European countries, whereas the other rewards are available in all countries.
In addition to this, you can also get your earnings out via Payoneer, AirTM, and Skrill, which are also great ways to get your earnings in cash. And in some countries, there will also be other gift cards available. So there are some really great reward options, in my opinion.
When you have participated in a survey, you will usually be able to see the reward on your ySense account right away. Some surveys (the ones that give an extra high reward) have to be approved before you get the money into your account. These surveys are marked with a little red flag, so they are easy to recognize.

When you use some of the other opportunities on ySense, like, for example, getting paid for downloading an app, you earn dollars as well, so it will be easy to see exactly what you get for each offer.
When it was called ClixSense, you used to earn Clixcents for the offers. So this is another example where ySense is now more user-friendly.
Often, it takes 5-15 minutes before you can see these rewards in your account.
Once you have requested a payout from your ySense account, it usually takes 3-5 days before the money is in your chosen account.
Below, you can see a video where I show step-by-step how to withdraw, and I also show a $250 ySense payment proof:
Click to Check Out ySense for Yourself
Can you use ySense on mobile?
Yes, you can easily use ySense on your mobile phone or tablet.
In fact, as mentioned earlier, it has its own app, and you can download the ySense app from the App Store or through Google Play.

This makes it a lot easier to get access to the surveys fast, which can be important as some of them fill up quickly. And it will also give you access to the playtime reward option, which you cannot find on the website itself.
Overall, it is just super convenient when a survey or Get-Paid-To site has an app, as it is a great way to earn a bit extra when you are on the go. For example, when waiting in line, waiting for the bus, sitting on the train, etc.
So great to see ySense spend time developing one that works well and is user-friendly.
If you do not want to download the app, you can still easily use ySense itself through the browser on your mobile device, as the website is mobile-friendly.
How much money can you make?
How much time you have to spend to make money and how much you can earn on ySense depends on how many of the opportunities you wish to use, as there are many.
In general, the rewards for surveys are pretty good in relation to the time spent, so they are worth participating in. But there are also a lot of other opportunities.
Some of the offers give high rewards, and the tasks can also give some nice extra money, especially if you end up being one of the top earners and get a part of the weekly prize money.
By being a bit active, you can also fairly easily qualify for the daily checklist bonus and earn up to 16% extra, which is a great bonus.
So, ySense is one of the survey sites that has decent earning potential. It used to be great, but since the number of paid offers have been significantly reduced, it will take a little bit more time to earn a significant amount from it.
As with all other survey sites, it is, however, important to remember that it will not make you a full-time income. If you expect this, you will probably be disappointed and not participate actively on ySense, and thereby also not have success with it.
In which countries is ySense available?
One of the great things about ySense is that it is available more or less worldwide, as ClixSense also was. The opportunities on ySense will, however, vary depending on the country you live in.
But if you do not have many surveys or offers, you might have great access to tasks, so there are good chances for many countries, and it is one of the survey sites that gives fairly good opportunities to the broadest range of countries out of all the sites I have tested.
Be aware that you cannot take surveys from another country than where you signed up, so you cannot use ySense to take surveys while traveling.
You have to be 16 years old to sign up for ySense.
Bonus advice and tips
Above, you can see how to use ySense. I just also want to add a few extra tips to help you make the most out of the platform:
Bonus tip 1 – Do not give up if some of the surveys are not available to you:
Depending on your age, where you live, etc., there will be some surveys that you will not be able to take after you have clicked an available survey. This can be frustrating, and sometimes, you have to click several surveys before you find one you can participate in.
But there are many available surveys, so do not give up when you run into one (or several) surveys that you cannot participate in. Over time, you will also get to know which kinds of surveys you usually qualify for, and then just click them and ignore the others.
Bonus tip 2 – Visit the site often:
New surveys and tasks will appear and disappear throughout the day, so visit the site several times during the day if you have the time.
Alternatively, you can install the ySense Addon for your browser. It is a great way to keep updated about new opportunities without having to log in often.
Bonus tip 3 – Less activity on weekends:
Be aware that on weekends, there is often less activity on ySense. My experience tells me that there are usually very few surveys on the weekends, so do not get discouraged if you join on a weekend and do not find many opportunities.
There are opportunities on the weekends, but just not as many.
Also, usually during the main holidays, there will be fewer surveys available.
Can you get support?
How good support a site or service offers always says a lot about it.
I have several times been in contact with ySense's support, and I have always gotten a fairly quick and useful reply.
When you send a message to their support, you will see that they say it can take up to 10 business days to get a reply. This is quite slow, but luckily, it will likely not always take this long. When I have been in contact with them, I have usually received a reply faster, but in some cases, it can take a bit of patience, which is something I hope they will also improve as they keep improving the platform.
Also, whenever there are any updates, changes, special offers, or anything like that, you will see a message about this when you log in.
ySense also has a forum where you can get answers to a lot of questions from both other members and ySense staff. There are even forums in many different languages so that you can communicate with staff and other members in many languages other than English.
So, ySense has good support and is good at keeping members updated, which is something I appreciate, and some survey sites could learn from this.
Final Verdict
I have tested many online paid survey sites and Get-Paid-To sites, and ySense is not a scam or fake – in fact, it gives genuine opportunities to make some extra cash in a legit way.
I know from personal experience that it is legit, as I have been paid by it many times myself.
But let’s finish this review by summing up the pros and cons so you can get a better overview before deciding if it is for you:

Pros:
- Good opportunities in a wide range of countries
- Nice extra bonus, if you have a daily activity
- User-friendly
- Good rewards in relation to time spent
- You get paid in cash
- Many payout methods to choose from

Cons:
- Often, you have to click on several surveys to find one you qualify for
- Not all countries have many opportunities
Overall, ySense is very user-friendly, which is great for us as members, and it is one of the sites where I have seen great results with myself.
It is definitely a legit site where you can make some extra money, and in my experience, it is definitely worth it, and therefore, it is also one of my top recommendations when it comes to free and easy ways to make some extra money on the side online.
How do you join ySense?
It is very easy and fast to sign up. Just click the button below. This will take you to the ySense website, where you have to fill out a small registration form, and then you can start earning.
The first time you log in, you have to fill out a little info about yourself, which only takes a few minutes. It is, of course, free to join.
If you have any comments, questions, or experiences with ySense, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.

Hi, Mikael.
I am a former member who used clixsense about 7 or 8 years ago as a way to make a bit of extra money for myself. Finally, I decided that I simply did not like it, viewing it as too time consuming as frankly, I was to eventually look for other ways to earn some income online.
I was quite interested as I began to read your review of clixsense that you stated that this company has recently incorporated major changes in its philosophy about members earning money at the site.
With the continuing growth in usage of Smart Phones, and although clixsense does not have an app of its own, the fact that members can still make money online through using mobile devices is a major positive for this company.
in the past I distinctly remember that clixsense did have a bit of issue in providing survey opportunities for members. Remember this was circa 2010. In fact back then I felt as if clixsense regarding its availability of surveys and being able to qualify for them was among the worse I had experienced with any similar site.
At clixsense, I also hated doing tasks which came with accompanying advertisements that you had to sit through first in order to eventually be rewarded. It was a feeling going through me of my wasting valuable time having to sit through ads that I did not care one iota about. The money earned was not equivalent to time lost as there are only 24 hours/day.
As you did not mention this at all, perhaps clixsense has done away with them. Perhaps not.
This site has improved although in my opinion a somewhat similar site in which multiple opportunities to earn extra income called SwagBucks is still the best site online regarding this type of venture.
Jeff
Thanks for sharing your experiences Jeff.
Great to hear a bit about how ClixSense was in the past and get a sense of how it has developed. I have not tried any tasks where I first had to watch a bunch of ads. There are of course ads at the site but in realtion to what you are telling about, it seems like the site no longer has this, which is great. The ads that are there now are not something that bothers me and they do not disturb the experience.
And you are right that SwagBucks is definitely a very great site, and also one of my top choices. The only disadvantage Swagbucks has is that it is not available for so many countries. So many countries cannot join. ClixSense is available worldwide and also has some great opportunities for many countries that other sites do not have opportunities for, which is great. But both sites are great, and for people that live in a country where you can sign up for both, I definitely would recommend that.
Anyways, thanks again for sharing your experiences.
All the best,
Mikael
Hello this is cinzia from Italy. I am following your top ten guide but I have some questions: 1)how much do you earn from clixsense?2) I have tried my f.eight task but my result was so there are no job for me, is it possible to retry? Thx
Hi Cinzia,
How much you can earn on ClixSense is difficult to say exactly as it depends on your activity and how many surveys and offers you qualify for.
Sometimes there will be no Figure Eight tasks available. Then just try again the next day. It is the same with surveys and offers. New ones are added all the time sp just because there are no options one day does not mean there will not be the next day or later the same day.
Mikael
Very informative, I wasn’t expecting so much content with a lot of validity.
One question, since you listed your top 10 survey Co’s, has there been a change?, in other words, is this list still as current as since you last wrote it?
I know there is always a new company setting up here and there, what I also tend to find is in the UK the rankings seem not to take effect here. The U.S seem to take a lead. I once thought Toluna is UK based. Curious I guess.
Hi Vivien,
Yes there are new sites starting up all the time. I keep testing sites, and I adjust the top 10 list all the time, if I find any sites that deserve to be on the list – so yes it is updated.
US is definitely the country that has some of the best opportunities for paid surveys, but luckliy you can also find plenty of good sites in other countries. I have actually also made a list specifically with the best survey sites in the UK. Toluna is available more or less worldwide. And it is big in the UK. I have also made a specific article about Toluna UK, if you want more details about that. But it is relevant for more or less any other country as well.
Let me know of you have further questions.
All the best,
Mikael
Thanks for the post.. If I sign up with this ClixSense or other survey sites in general, and I’m about to withdraw my earnings. For instance, lets say I’m using paypal or payoneer as my paymet method, will I be asked to input the email for the account I wish to withdraw to or it’ll be sent to the email account with which I registered?
Hi Rasheed,
Usually you will be paid to the email account you signed up with. If you need to have it paid out to another email account, you need to contact the support of the survey site.
All the best,
Mikael
How it works
I explain exactly how ySense works in the article above. So just read that and watch the video and then you will know how to use it. And if you then have more specific questions then just ask.
Hello Mikael,
I live in Singapore. May I know is Clixsense available in Singapore? I only have Paypal. I do not have Payoneer, Skrill, Dwolla and Tangocard. Are there other modes of payment?
Hi Magdalene,
Yes ClixSense is available in Singapore, and it gives pretty good opportunities there. If you want a Payoneer or Skrill account, it is free to get, and it is easy to sign up. Dwolla is not a payout option in Singapore for ClixSense, and Tango Card not really a good option in Singapore. But both Payoneer and Skrill are good options.
However, if you only want to join sites that pay out through PayPal, ClixSense is not the right site for you. Then you can instead check out my list of the best survey sites in Singapore, where you can get an overview of which sites offer this payout method.
Mikael
If I refer a friend to clixSense, do I get a commission on what they earn in perpetuity or is it just a one time thing.
Hi Tony,
You get a commission every time your friend earns as long as he/she is a member. The commission is something ClixSense pays and the reward your friend earns will not be affected.
Mikael
Thanks for your response. You stated in the article that they must be active for 30 days for me to earn from them. what is meant by ‘active’?
You are welcome Tony.
You will earn from them from day 1. The percentage you will earn however depends how many people you have referred, who have been active within the past 30 days. Active simply means that the person has taken part in a survey, taken an offer, or done a Figure Eight task.
Hope this answers your question.
Mikael
Hi Mikael. I’ve got another question. You said i earn a commission on what my referrals earn. Is it correct to say that if they also earn a commission on their referrals earnings, i would indirectly be getting a piece of their earnings too?…
No, you will not get anything from the earnings your referrals get from their referrals. On ClikSense you only get paid for your level 1 referrals, as it is called.
