There are many apps nowadays that give you the chance to earn some extra money from your phone. One such example is Premise.
This mobile app promises to pay you for participating in the activities it offers. One of the most common ways to earn with this app is by taking pictures.
Not a lot of apps have that kind of earning opportunity. But is Premise app legit and really a way to earn, or is it a waste of time?
Let me just answer this question right away so we can discuss other important details. Yes, Premise is a legit app that does pay you to participate in its activities. But is it worth it, though?

What is Premise, and what does it offer?
Premise is a mobile-only platform that rewards you for completing the tasks it offers. What it does is collect ground-level data from across the globe to help organizations answer their most important questions.
You, as a contributor, will then receive compensation for providing such data. Now, to fully gauge how well this site will allow you to earn extra cash, we have to examine the earning opportunity it offers.

The earning opportunity – Survey Tasks
The earning opportunity it offers is called Survey Tasks. But unlike other paid survey sites and apps, their surveys will also sometimes ask you to perform tasks (hence the name).
The process starts with you recording your information (refer to the photo above). To do so, you have to follow the instructions that will be displayed.
It will ask you to take a photo. Once you’ve completed recording your location, you will now be given access to the app’s dashboard. The dashboard will display all the available survey tasks you can do.
Some surveys will only ask you questions, while some will either ask you to take photos or go to a certain location to provide data. That’s why you must always have a mobile internet connection.
Every survey task will have a set expiration date. So, I suggest you prioritize those that are nearest the expiration date or those that you are nearest to. It will also display the amount you will earn once completed.
The survey tasks you will receive will mostly be directed to your locale. So, the availability will vary from location to location. Some locations will have more opportunities than others.

How do you get paid?
Every survey task you complete will earn you a certain amount in the form of the currency of the country you live in. If you live in the US, the currency that will be automatically used will be American dollars. If you live in the UK, it will be in GBP, and so on and so forth.
Once you’ve earned enough, you will be able to request payment in several ways. You can either withdraw your money using PayPal, Bitcoin, or Payoneer. However, the exact payout options available will vary from country to country.
The threshold you need to reach to start withdrawing your earnings will also depend on the country you live in. But usually, it will be around $5, which, in my opinion, is a very low threshold and certainly an achievable one.
This is probably what I like best about this app. It lets you withdraw your earnings quickly and conveniently. If you are interested in more sites that have a low payout threshold, I suggest you also check out the fastest paying sites.
How much money can you make?
The amount of money you can make depends on how many tasks you complete. The problem with Premise, in my opinion, is that the availability of earning opportunities won’t be equal in every location. At least, that's what I noticed when I was testing it.
Some locations have more offers, while some only have a few. If you are fortunate enough to live in an area where there are plenty of earning opportunities, then you can earn a significant amount.
However, if you live in a city where the offers are scarce, you can’t expect to earn much from it. So, you will have a hard time reaching the threshold. They do, however, pay relatively well.
That is to be expected since their tasks will involve you having to go to a certain location to complete them. In my experience, most sites/apps that offer this type of earning opportunity do pay rather decently.
The only thing you need to factor in is the time/money ratio. And if I were to say something about the time/money ratio of this app, it’s not that good since it will take a lot of time to complete a task. You will only earn efficiently if you are already in the offer's location.
Otherwise, going to a certain location just to earn a few bucks defeats the purpose, in my opinion. So, overall, I would say that the earning potential of this app is not that good.
Can you use it on a desktop?
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, this is a mobile-only platform. So you can only use it on a mobile device. So, to answer the question, no, you can’t use it on a desktop.
The good thing about this app is that it is available in both the Google and Apple app stores. So, compatibility won’t really be an issue.
The app is also very user-friendly. You won’t have a hard time navigating through it since the user interface is intuitive. You do have to make sure that your mobile device has an internet connection and GPS enabled when performing tasks.
Who can join Premise?
Their website says Premise is available in over 70 countries. However, they don’t elaborate on which countries are included.
So, the best way to find out if the app is available in your country is to go to your app store and see if you can download it. If it is, then you are eligible to join.
Signing up as a member will be pretty simple. As you can see in the photo above, you can use either your Google or Facebook account to sign up as a member.
You do not need to confirm or activate your registration like on most other sites or apps. Once you’re finished with the registration process, you will be taken directly to the app’s dashboard.
Can you get support?
The Premise website has an FAQ page that covers the site's basic topics. But in my opinion, it could have covered more, especially the part about how you will take surveys.
If you have no prior experience answering surveys, you will have to go through your first survey without any knowledge of what to do, since they don’t really explain thoroughly what you need to do.
Now, if you have any questions or are experiencing any issues with your account, you can contact their support team through the app. You will be able to submit a support ticket by using their support panel.
You can get to the ticket submission form by clicking on the Settings icon in the app and clicking Report A Problem. You then have to click Start a Conversation to open the contact form.
Overall, I would say that they do provide decent support for their members. They just need to put more effort into explaining what their survey process involves, in my opinion.
Final Verdict
Premise is a legit survey and micro-task app that does pay you for participating in their survey tasks. It poses some good advantages and some glaring drawbacks as well, in my opinion.
Here’s a summary of its pros and cons to give you a full idea of what the site has to offer so you can decide if you should give this a try or not.

Its main drawback, though, is that you will not be able to earn efficiently. The nature of its earning opportunity will involve you going to certain locations to gather data to complete the survey. Time-wise, it isn’t really the best use of your time.
You will only be able to earn efficiently if you frequently go to the area where there are plenty of offers available. There are far better ways to earn from a mobile app, in my opinion. So, I can say that this app is not for everyone.
If you prefer to earn conveniently on a mobile app, I recommend you check out the top paid survey apps instead. The apps on this list will allow you to earn without having to go to a certain location.
You can earn anytime, anywhere. Plus, most of the apps offer other earning opportunities as well.

When you come close to the minimum payout which is Paypal you receive a message stating a problem with paypal & to cash out another way & your earnings go “reserved.” When you change platforms then ironically theres a payment issue with premise itself! If this is a legitimate app then this should not be taking place multiple times!

I also experience the same problem.last year 2019 the minimum amount to withdraw is only 50PHP but today the minimum amount to withdraw is 750 php which is too high,and it always says they have a problem about withdrawal process.hope they can fix this issue because the platform itself is good and unique

Premise is scam..they do not pay..i contacted their support and every time they say they have a payment problem and that lasted for a month..dont waste your time with this!

This company Premise is a scam. This how they operate: First when you use the app everything works and as the days go by, they start rejecting your tasks completed for flimsy reasons. And cashing out is outrageous as they often don’t work but they will always say it is Paypal’s fault week in and week out. And when they thru skimming you they will ban your account and delete all your earned cash. How do I know? I was one of their victims! DO NOT USE THIS APP!!!

Fully agree with you. I have also have the same experience. They is also a danger that you might con into taking pictures sensitive to your country and get yourself into trouble with your country law. They have no approval from any country to take pictures.

Very few of the find an item with a specific UPC item are correct so you waste your time going to different locations looking because the exact item is on the shelf but the code doesn’t match. Time after time. If the object is to see if databases are correct then the users should be reporting back the code that is on the item and update. I did enjoy the different tasks within the community to find such as rentals, new construction, statues etc. and surveys but those have been eliminated leaving only the unsatisfying financially UPC tasks. Why bother? With smaller venues such as Sally Beauty Supply you are extremely visible taking pictures because of the requirement that no other products can be visible plus you submit pics off all 6 sides, hang tags, ingredients, nutrition label, small print so you are easily seen by staff and customers. This has lead to staff telling me to leave and complains to higher management.

Premise is BULLSHIT!
I tried it one day, chose about 7 tasks, finding 7 products in stores. Each task supposed to take “3-5 minutes” and pay 5 or 6 dollars.
Spent three hours (after which the tasks expire) in 5 different stores (including the ones directed to for each product) didn’t find ONE, a few times I found the item but the bar codes have to match exactly with the one in the app for your task product and they were always one or two digits off.
Apparently they’re only sending you after extra rare, seasonal and discontinued items that they couldn’t find themselves and know probably aren’t in stock anymore but they want suckers like you to go looking for them, just in case the impossible happens and you actually find it. So they want you to look for them like a fool when they couldn’t find it themselves, dangling 5 bucks in front of you that they know you’ll never collect because they know you’ll probably never find the items if they couldn’t themselves, so it’s just abuse of your time, hope and expectation.
You’ll make about a dollar a day doing surveys that take 20 minutes each for 20 cents a survey.
They’re looking for idiots. Good luck.

It is a dumb app and totally unreasonable. They suspended my account and confiscated my earnings ($13) which were accumulated over a VERY LONG time just because i used two devices but it was the same account. Don’t use it. It is a waste of the time.
They are getting worst! They are rejecting surveys (not assignment) for no reason. Many others are complaining that their account is being closed without notice or reason. The customer support copy and paste their response or they don’t resolve the situation at all.

If you run their UPC codes through a UPC database you will quickly discover that none of the products you are asked to look for actually exist. Premise is nothing more than a scam.

this is true, I got the money 1 1/2 years, as long as you don’t break their rules, because they will detect that you are doing something modus. I got P1,100, it’s just a hobby, it doesn’t really make me rich. I don’t do the task because I can’t, I can only do surveys. The process when I transferred the money was fast by linking to my gcash account, it was transferred immediately in seconds and I transferred it immediately to my bank account.

I’ve contacted support for this same issue over a dozen times in over a month now and I get the same excuse of their working on fixing their payment providers. But nothing happens and I’m never able to cash out. I don’t want to think negatively about this app or give any other review anywhere other than this one but im on edge of thinking this app is a complete scam. Please help me with this issue if you can? I just want the money I earned which is nearly $60 so that’s why i haven’t completely given up on premise yet. I definitely understand it is frustrating. But there is nothing I can do as I have nothing to do with the company. All we can hope is that they will fix it soon and hope they will start paying out again.

As I clearly explain in comments here, there currently are some payment issues, and I am keeping an eye on it. But the fact is that they have paid many people in the past but there are some issues the last few months and we have to see how it turns out.
But no matter what, I clearly mention in the review that there are many better and faster ways to earn.
scam currently in Mexico, they no longer pay, they have been rejecting any payment request for about a month, by whatever means.
I contact technical support (there are only tickets) and they say that they have problems paying, but they do not solve anything else.
I have seen them say they have problems paying, and it is very strange it has taken so long for them to fix it. For now, we will have to wait and see if they manage to fix it soon. Let’s hope they will. At least their support still replies to questions, so there is still hope.
Well, after criticism was rained on them from all sides for not paying, they are finally releasing the payments, my pending payment has already arrived.
