Spider.com Review – Scam or Legit? (An Honest Look)

Spider.com Rating

The major disadvantage of this site, in my opinion, is that its software only works with Windows computers, and there seem to be some privacy concerns.

If you are looking for a passive way to earn online, there’s a site called Spider.com that claims you can earn money just by installing their program. It’s a very convenient way to earn, I must admit. So, you might be worried that it sounds too good to be true.

That’s actually the right frame of mind to have. You always have to be suspicious of every site that claims you will be able to earn something. That way, you can approach it with caution. So, is Spider a scam or is it legit?

This Spider.com review will address that concern and it will also give an honest look at everything the site has to offer. That way, you’ll know exactly what to expect before you even sign-up. Then you can decide if it is really worth using or not.

What is Spider.com and what does it offer?

Spider.com at its core is a GPT (Get-Paid-To) site that will pay you for sharing your unused internet connection. It is a lot similar to Honeygain which offers the same kind of opportunity but it also has some differences as you will learn in this review.

So, let’s now examine the earning opportunities this site offers so you will understand exactly how it works and you can get an idea of how well you can earn from it. So, here’s how to earn from Spider.com.

Option 1 – Sharing your internet connection

The primary way to earn from this site is to install their program and let it share your unused internet connection. As mentioned earlier, this will be a passive form of earning.

software for earning on spider
Their software will only work with Windows computers.

All you have to do is to install their program and go through the setup process. Their software will only work with Windows computers, so if you are using a Mac computer, then this opportunity is not for you.

Then you can, for example, use Honeygain instead as it is available for more or less all devices.

But what does the software do exactly? Well, the software will allow you to share your internet connection with their clients. Most of these clients work in the travel, e-commerce, advertising, and web intelligence industry and they employ Spider.com’s proxy services.

Now, if you are worried that their software is invading your privacy, they do explain that they will never gather any private information from you. All they really need from you is your excess data from your internet connection.

However, as I will explain later, I do not fully trust what Spider Earn says.

But speaking of data, you will earn $1.50 for every 10 GB of data you are able to share. It’s not the best rate, in my opinion, but considering you don’t have to do anything special to earn it, I would say it’s just a fair rate.

Plus, they do say that when you are sharing data through their program, your connection speed will not be affected. So, you will never really notice that it’s running. This is a good thing really because it will not hamper you from using your internet connection like you normally would.

So, once you’ve installed their program and finished setting it up, you can just sit back and wait to earn enough money so you can withdraw it (I will talk about how to do this later).

Option 2 – Referral program

The other way to earn from this site is through its referral program. If you’ve been a member of GPT sites before, this will be very familiar to you. But if you haven’t yet, then let me explain to you how it works.

spider referral program
You can earn additional rewards by inviting other people to join the site.

The idea is, you invite people to join the site by sharing your invite link. Once they click your link and sign up to the website, they will become your level 1 referral. But in order for you to earn from your referrals, they must install the software and share their connection as well.

When they’ve earned at least $3 for the month, you will then receive a 25% commission of whatever they earn for the month. But as you can see in the photo above, their referral program is actually 10 levels deep.

That means you will still be earning passively when your referral also invites other people to the site and so on and so forth until it reaches 10 levels. The only difference is, the commission rate will gradually be lower the higher the level of the referral.

But the thing with their referral program is, you have to make sure the people you invite are really interested in earning because as you can see, you won’t earn anything if your referrals won’t install and set up their program.

How do you get paid?

As explained above, you will earn $1.50 for every 10 GB of data you share. But in order to withdraw your earnings, you will actually have to earn at least $20.

When you’ve reached their threshold, you can then withdraw your earnings via PayPal. That’s the only payment option they offer, so if you are really interested in this site, you have to make sure you have a PayPal account before you sign up.

Their payment system is relatively simple but their threshold is quite high compared to most GPT sites. So, you need a bit of patience before you can withdraw your earnings. However, there’s one thing that strikes me as odd.

If you look at their website, there’s a bit there that says it has 2,330 5-star reviews on Trustpilot. But it doesn’t really link you to their actual Trustpilot page. So, I went ahead and checked their actual Trustpilot page.

complaints about spider
There are a few complaints on their TrustPilot page which is a bit contradicting to what they say on their website.

To my surprise, there were only four reviews and all of them were poor reviews. Plus, the reviews were actually alarming. As shown in the photo above, their program is allegedly taking over your accounts.

This does sound alarming because, for a company that says people should trust them with access to their internet, it is a big issue that they are not transparent with their reviews and seem to make up a number of reviews and just use Truspilot's logo to create trust.

It’s actually a deal-breaker, in my opinion, and whether it pays or not becomes a bit irrelevant as well as I would not personally trust a site that uses tricks like this.

That’s why you should go for a safer way to earn, in my opinion. And I would recommend you check out the fastest paying sites instead.

How much money can you make?

As explained earlier, you will get paid $1.50 for every 10 GB you share. That would mean you will have to share around 130 GB of data before you can withdraw your earnings.

And as I’ve mentioned earlier, their rate is pretty decent. It’s not the best, but it’s not bad either. But the thing with their software is, if you have a fast network connection, then their AI will detect that and use your connection more. Then you earn more.

So, to answer the question above, it will depend on how fast your connection is. Naturally, the faster the connection, the more data you can share and the faster you can reach their threshold to withdraw your earnings.

Overall, I would say the site has a decent earning potential even though their rate isn’t that high. And considering you really don’t have to put in any effort to earn, I would say it’s still a good deal.

mobile site of spider

Can you use it on mobile?

Spider.com doesn’t have a mobile app you can download. And as mentioned earlier, their software only works for Windows computers. So, to answer the question, no, you can’t.

You can actually log in to their member dashboard from a mobile device, but all you can really do there is check your earnings. The actual earning process needs to be done from a Windows laptop or desktop.

But the mobile version of their site is actually pretty clean. You can navigate through the dashboard with relative ease.

Who can join Spider.com?

The best thing about this site is it is available globally. That means you can register as a member regardless of where you live. But you do have to be at least 18 years of age to sign up. And as explained above, you have to have a PayPal account.

registration for spider
To become a member, you just have to fill out their registration form.

To register as a member, you just have to fill out their sign-up form. Then, the site will send a verification email. Just click the verification link in the email to complete the registration process. Once you’ve done that, you have to download and install their software on your computer.

Then, just follow the setup process of the software. Once it is completed, you can just sit back, relax and wait until you’ve earned enough to withdraw your earnings.

Can you get support?

If you have any questions about their website, you can check out their FAQ page. It discusses the basic topics you need to know about the site.

But if you are experiencing technical issues with their software, you will definitely have to contact their support team. You can do that by emailing them at support@spider.com.

Overall, I would say the site has a decent support system in place for their members since they offer a convenient way for you to get in touch with their support team.

Final Verdict

Spider.com is a GPT site that will pay you for sharing your unused internet bandwidth. It certainly has a couple of interesting features but it also has a couple of limitations you need to consider.

Let me wrap up this review by summarizing its pros and cons so you can get an overview of what the site has to offer. Then you can decide if it is really worth it or not.

pros

Pros:

  • You can earn passively
  • Offers payment via PayPal
cons

Cons:

  • Limited earning opportunities offered
  • Relatively high payout threshold
  • Their software only works with Windows computers
  • Has some privacy concerns you should be aware of
  • They are not being transparent about their true ratings from reviewers

The major disadvantage of this site, in my opinion, is that its software only works with Windows computers, and there seem to be some privacy concerns. And as I’ve said earlier, for a site that claims you should trust them, your privacy shouldn’t be compromised it's just a deal-breaker for me that they are not transparent about important details.

That’s why I would recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites on this list all have good earning potential and they offer safe ways for you to earn without compromising your privacy.
