Is Survey Squad Legit? – Full Review (Not the Best Choice)

Survey Squad Rating

Survey Squad was a legit survey panel. However, it seems it no longer exists and has been rebranded as FF Focus Group.

A good way to earn a bit of extra money is to become a member of an online survey panel. One of the said panels is Survey Squad. It is a survey site that promises to pay you for completing their surveys.

But is Survey Squad legit though? This is one of the most important questions you need to ask.

So, I will answer it right away. Yes, it is a legit survey panel. It does pay you for completing the surveys they offer.

This doesn't mean though that you should sign up right away and become a member. You have to evaluate first if the site is worth your time.

This Survey Squad review will tell you everything you need to know about the site. That way, you can make an informed decision on whether you should join their panel or not.

So, let's take full stock of what this site has to offer.

Important update: Survey Squad rebranded!

It seems Survey Squad no longer exists and has been rebranded as FF Focus Group.

You can learn more about this panel in this FF Focus Group review.

What is Survey Squad, and what does it offer?

Survey Squad is a survey site that is owned by Focus Forward, a company that focuses on qualitative and quantitative recruitment for marketing research studies.

The site caters to consumers, business, and medical professionals. But for the purpose of this review, we will look at the consumer side of the site because that is where you will be able to earn from Survey Squad.

So, how do you earn from this survey panel?

I have created a video that will give you an inside look so you can see exactly how it works. You can also read all the details below the video:

Option 1 – Paid surveys

The bulk of the rewards you will get from Survey Squad will come from completing paid surveys. Once you are registered as a member, you will have to complete your profile.

survey squad profile
You have to complete your profile to receive survey invites.

This is an important part of becoming a member of Survey Squad's panel.

Before you can hope to receive an invitation to answer a survey or study (another earning opportunity which I will discuss next), you will have to complete your profile.

As you can see in the photo above, completing your profile is a bit of a long process, one for which you won't get rewarded with.

However, as mentioned, it is absolutely necessary to do this because this is the only way you will receive any survey invitation.

Speaking of survey invitations, all survey invites will be done via email. You won't see any survey invites when you log in to their website. So, you have to check your email inbox regularly to see if there are any surveys you can answer.

The invite email will contain the link to the survey, as well as the reward you will get when you complete it. To complete a survey, you will have to answer a set of pre-qualifying questions.

This is to determine if you really belong to the demographic the survey is targeting. If you qualify, you can then answer the actual survey. Once you finish answering the survey and submit your answers, you will then receive the reward promised.

However, if you don't qualify, you won't receive any compensation.

It would have been better, in my opinion, if they also offered a small compensation in the event you don't qualify. That way, you would not have completely wasted your time.

Option 2 – In-Person interviews

Aside from survey invites, you might also receive an invitation to participate in in-person interviews. This is another way to earn rewards from Survey Squad.

The interview will either take place in their office or over the phone. One thing to note about this type of opportunity is, it isn't very common.

But, long-time members say the reward you will receive for participating in any of these interviews is pretty significant.

Survey Squad says the reward you will receive from doing an interview will range from around $100 to $300.

That's a really high amount, in my opinion. So, if you ever get an invitation to participate in that activity, I suggest you take advantage of it right away.

How do you get paid?

Another important factor you need to consider when deciding which survey site to join is the mode of payment that the survey site offers.

Ideally, the more choices you have when withdrawing your earnings, the better. This, in my opinion, is where Survey Squad falls short.

survey squad payment
You can only get paid by check.

The only way for you to receive payment is to request a check.

Of course, as shown in the photo above, you can also donate your earnings to any of the two charities, Michael J Fox Parkinson's Foundation or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Although you will earn real money from Survey Squad, the fact that you will have to wait to receive your check in the mail is a little inconvenient.

In my opinion, it would have been better if they also offered an online payment gateway option like PayPal. That way, you will receive your earnings a lot faster.

Another drawback to Survey Squad's payment system is its relatively high payout threshold. Let me explain.

When you complete a survey, you will be rewarded with points. When you accumulate 20,000 points (equivalent to $20), you can then request payment via check.

It's a pretty high amount to reach. That means you will have to answer several surveys before you can hope to request payment. This makes the earning process a bit slow, in my opinion.

If you prefer to earn quickly from survey sites, I suggest you check out the fastest paying survey sites. The survey sites on this list all have a very low payout threshold.

How much money can you make?

This is probably the most important factor to consider when deciding which survey site to join. Of course, you will want a site that will allow you to earn a decent amount.

With Survey Squad, the amount you earn will purely depend on how often you will receive invites to participate in surveys or interviews. Because logically, the more invites you get, the more surveys and interviews you complete.

And based on feedback from long-time members, you won't receive invites quite often. However, you will be able to earn a significant amount ($1-$5) from each survey you complete. That's a pretty decent amount.

So, even though you don't really receive survey invites too often, you still get paid pretty well. So, it kind of balances each other out.

But overall, though, the earning potential of Survey Squad still pales in comparison to other survey sites.

Can you use it on mobile?

survey squad mobile site

Survey sites that will allow you to work on surveys on your mobile device are more favored simply because it allows you to be more efficient.

With Survey Squad, you will be able to do exactly just that. But, if you were expecting to download a Survey Squad app, unfortunately, that isn't the case.

However, you will be able to answer surveys on your mobile device since all the invitations will be sent to your email. You just have to open the app for your email client (which is typically a default app on your mobile device).

You can then just click the link to the survey, and it will open a browser window. If you want to check your reward balance, you will be able to do that as well on your mobile device.

You can log in to their website pretty conveniently since their site is optimized for mobile use. You won't have to zoom in or scroll left and right just to read all the content.

Being able to access their site conveniently on a mobile is also a sign that the site is keeping up with the times since most good survey sites nowadays make that possible.

Who can join Survey Squad?

They don't mention specifically on their website which is eligible to become a member of their panel. But when you go through their registration process, you will clearly know that it is only available to residents of the US.

survey squad registration
Complete the registration form to become a member.

As you can see in the photo above, the registration form will ask you which state you live in, and the only options available are states of the US. That means you will only be able to join if you live in the US.

It also makes sense since, remember, they will have to mail you the check. It would be very impractical for them if they allowed members outside of the US, and the only way for them to pay is via check.

It would take a very long time for the member to receive their payment, not to mention it would be a bit expensive on Survey Squad's part to mail the check overseas.

You also have to be at least 18 years of age in order to join their panel. They do not mention this specifically on their site, but this is the age requirement to cash a check. So, if you ever want to receive your earnings, you have to be at least 18 years old to register.

One thing I noticed, though, in their registration form, when you select your date of birth, the year you can choose is only up to 2009 and higher, which doesn't make sense. I'm not sure if it's just an error on their part or it is by design.

Anyway, it's a small thing which really doesn't affect the site in any way. I just thought it was pretty weird.

But overall, there are so many great survey sites in the US, so Survey Squad has a lot of competition, and, in my opinion, it just cannot keep up with its competitors.

Can you get support?

When you encounter issues or have any questions about your compensation or the site, it is invaluable that you are able to get assistance from their support team.

survey squad contact form
You can use the contact form to send in your questions to their support team.

Survey Squad provides a way for you to do that. You can use their contact form to send in your inquiry. You can also use their FAQ section to try and find the answers you are looking for.

If you want to contact them via their social media pages, you can find the link at the top of their homepage. They are more active on Twitter rather than on Facebook.

So, I suggest you contact them via Twitter if you plan to do it on a social media platform. There's a higher chance you will get a reply.

All in all, they have a decent support system in place for their members.

Final Verdict

Survey Squad is a legit survey site that pays you for completing the surveys and interviews they offer. But it doesn't quite measure up to the best survey sites out there, in my experience.

But let's finish this review with a summary of Survey Squad's pros and cons so you can get a full overview before deciding if it is really a good fit for you or not.

pros

Pros:

  • Relatively high reward for each survey completed
  • Good support system
cons

Cons:

  • Low earning potential
  • High payout threshold
  • Limited payment options

Even though you stand to earn a decent amount from the surveys you complete, the earning potential of Survey Squad just doesn't measure up with the top survey sites today.

The fact that you can only request payment via check is what makes this survey site a less-than-ideal choice, in my opinion. Plus, it also has a high payout threshold, which isn't helping.

If you are fine with receiving checks as payment, this can be a good site to earn a bit of extra money, though. Plus, if you get lucky and receive an interview invite, you can earn quite a bit of money.

But if you are looking to earn on a regular basis, I recommend you check out the top survey sites in your country instead.

The survey sites on this list all have good earning potential. Plus, you will be able to find a survey site for you regardless of where you live.
