If you are trying to earn extra cash online, you have probably realized that there are many scams, and sometimes you end up wasting time without ever getting paid.
One site you might have come across that claims it is a way to earn extra cash is CrowdTap.
But is CrowdTap legit and really a way to earn, or is it one of the scam sites you need to stay away from?
I have joined and tested it myself and have compared it to the hundreds of other free online earning methods I have tested.
And let me just reveal right away that it is a legit survey site that does reward you for participating. But this doesn't necessarily mean this site is a good site to join if you want to earn extra cash.
This CrowdTap review will reveal all the details you need to know about the site so you know exactly what to expect and can figure out if it is indeed worth your time or not.
What is CrowdTap, and what does it offer?
CrowdTap, as mentioned above, is a survey site that offers to pay you for participating in their surveys and other earning opportunities.
It is a market research company. So, if you want your opinion to matter, this is definitely a site you can join.
But, in order to get a clear picture of its earning potential, we have to take a closer look at how you will be able to earn from this site. So, here's how you can earn from this site.
The earning opportunity – Short Surveys
What's different about CrowdTap is that it's a bit different from the other survey sites on the internet today.
If you've been a member of other survey sites, normally, the surveys you have to answer are relatively long.
But with CrowdTap, it's a bit different. The surveys they offer are actually quite short. Here's an example.
As you can see in the photo above, each survey is pretty short. It's almost like a poll and not a survey. Most survey offers are in multiple-choice form. So, it really doesn't take a lot of time to answer a survey offer.
The only other survey site I have seen that offers short surveys on a regular basis is PaidViewpoint.
And the good thing is that every question you answer will earn you points (usually 3 points for short questions). And since the surveys are pretty short, you won't really have to spend a lot of time on the site just to earn points.
On average, you will run out of surveys to answer after 10 to 15 minutes of answering surveys. So, it's not really a huge commitment.
And there are usually surveys available on a daily basis. That means you will be able to accumulate points and redeem rewards (which I will talk about next).

How do you get paid?
Every survey you answer will earn you a certain number of points. You can then use the points you've accumulated and redeem rewards.
You will be able to choose from various gift cards available. You can, for example, choose between Amazon, Target, Walmart gift cards (and others) from their rewards catalog. All you have to do is exchange the points you've earned for any gift you like.
When you redeem a gift card, what happens is that you won't actually be sent a physical gift card but an electronic one instead. It will be sent to you via email. You can expect to receive the gift card within 2 business days after redemption.
However, the downside is that if you were expecting to earn cash from this site, you will be disappointed. CrowdTap does not offer PayPal as a payout option.
The only rewards they offer are gift cards. But you can say that gift cards are really a lot like cash since you can use them for purchasing products.
But if you really prefer to earn cash instead, I suggest you check out the top survey sites that pay via PayPal.
One thing you just need to be aware of is that the points you earn on CrowdTap will expire after 1 year, so make sure you redeem a gift card for your points before that, as you will otherwise lose your points.
How much money can you make?
As already mentioned, you won't be able to earn actual money from CrowdTap. You will be earning gift cards instead.
And as for how many gift cards you earn, it will entirely depend on how much time you will spend on the site and how well they pay.
As you can see in the photo above, the minimum amount you can redeem is $5. That is worth 1000 points. There are other gift cards worth more, but they also cost more points to redeem. For example, a $10 Amazon gift card will cost 2000 points (and so on and so forth).
Now, as for how well they pay, since the surveys are actually quite short, don't expect to earn a lot of points per survey you answer. Usually, you will earn 3 points per short survey you complete.
So, you can see it will take a lot of surveys to reach the payout threshold.
Overall, don't expect to earn a lot from this site since the rewards are pretty low, in my opinion.
However, it doesn't really take too much time to complete the surveys. So, there won't be a significant time investment needed for this site.
Can you use it on mobile?
One of the things CrowdTap has improved since I tested it the first time is that it now has an app you can download.
This makes it easy to take surveys on the go.
It is available for both iOS and Android devices.
You just need to be aware that there are certain other features that are not yet available inside the app, so it is still a good idea to use it through the website once in a while.
Who can join CrowdTap?
The one downside about CrowdTap, in my opinion, is that it isn't available globally. In fact, it is only available in the US.
So, if you are not a US resident, you won't be able to participate. If you are though, just fill out their registration form to become a member.
However, there are many great survey sites in the US so even if you live here, you might want to join other sites instead.
One unique thing about CrowdTap is, they allow multiple people from one household to become a member. Usually, on other survey sites, they only allow one person per household to become a member.
When you first log in to the member dashboard of CrowdTap, you will see a lot of questions pertaining to your preferences (refer to photo above). These questions are actually for building your profile.
You need to answer these questions because they will the information you've provided to qualify you for more surveys in the future.
The good thing is that your time won't be wasted answering these questions since you will still receive reward points for them.
Can you get support?
Another thing I like about CrowdTap is how they handle their support. They have a detailed FAQ section that covers most of the important topics about the site.
One thing about their support page though, as shown in the photo above, it says check out our new video series. But when you click on it, you won't really see any videos. So, it's a bit misleading.
If you have an inquiry or you want to contact their support team, you can submit a request. You will be taken to a contact form where you can elaborate on your inquiry.
Overall, they do have a decent way of providing support for their members, which is a good sign because it shows they do care about providing the best user experience possible.
Final Verdict
CrowdTap is a legit survey site that does reward you for participating in their surveys. It has some nice qualities and a couple of drawbacks as well.
Here's a summary of its pros and cons to help you decide if you should become a member of their panel or not.
Pros:
- Their site is user-friendly
- Won't take up a lot of your time
- Low payout threshold
Cons:
- Limited earning opportunities
- No cash rewards
- Only available in the US
What really makes CrowdTap a good site to join is that their surveys won't eat up much of your time. So, there won't be a significant time investment needed.
However, you won't be able to earn cash from this site. So, temper your expectations. But it does have a decent number of gift cards you can choose from as a reward.
So, all is not lost. It can still serve as a good secondary site to earn gift cards. That is, of course, if you live in the US.
If you are looking for sites that will allow you to earn cash on a regular basis, I suggest you check out the top survey sites in your country instead.
The sites on this list all offer good earning potential since they have several earning opportunities available on a regular basis.
Plus, you will be able to find a site that will fit your needs regardless of where you live.
If you have any comments, questions, or have any experiences with CrowdTap yourself, I would love to hear from you in a comment below.
Don’t waste your time and effort. They will disabled your account due to violation of term. When you’ve done nothing wrong. Poor service.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Yea, they did me dirty. I was only on for 20 minutes and got flagged n banned for no reason. I appealed it but that was no use. Oh well off to find better
I used to like this AP until our of the blue they blocked my account for NO REASON. I had just redeemed my points for an Amazon Gift Card and Never received my Gift Card. I have tried to get an answer as to why my account is blocked and there is NO reasonable explanation for it. Not Right. It is Also Hard to get Customer Support to get back with you.
Maybe you have used VPN? If that is the case, all survey sites will block you without warning.
