LiveTribe Review – Yay or Nay? (All Details + Rating)

LiveTribe Rating

LiveTribe is only worth joining if you are looking for additional sites to earn from. It’s not a great primary site to earn from, but it can still be worth joining simply because of the high cash prize for their quarterly prize draw.

LiveTribe is a site that claims you can earn by answering surveys. It’s a simple enough way to earn extra money. So, I understand if you are interested in this site.

But, before you join, it would be best to read this LiveTribe review first so you’ll know if it is legit or if it is just a scam. I have signed up as a member of the site and I have compared it with hundreds of other sites I have tested that offer the same kind of opportunity.

In this review, I will share all my findings so you will know exactly what to expect if you become a member. Then, you will be able to make an informed decision on whether or not this site is worth your time. So, let’s go ahead and take a closer look at LiveTribe, shall we?

What is LiveTribe and what does it offer?

LiveTribe is a survey site that will reward you for answering their surveys. It is indeed a legit site since you will receive rewards for completing the surveys they offer. Now, the question is, is it worth it?

To answer that question, we first have to examine the earning opportunities the site offers so you will understand how it works. So, here’s how to earn from LiveTribe.

Option 1 – Market Research Activities

The primary way of earning from this site is by participating in their market research activities. When you become a member of LiveTribe, you will now be eligible to work on various market research activities.

Usually, these activities will ask you to answer surveys. During my testing, this was the most common opportunity available.

They also say that you can get invited to participate in shopping diaries and online panel discussions, but I haven’t personally tried those activities. So, I can’t comment on these activities fully.

All I can say is, based on my experience, shopping diaries, and online panel discussions pay more than surveys since they require more time and effort on your end. As for their paid surveys, the process of answering them is pretty much the same as the surveys you encounter on most survey sites.

You will first have to go through the qualifying process. This part will involve answering a set of qualifying questions. And no, this isn’t the actual survey yet. Survey sites do this to figure out if you belong to the group the survey is intended for.

If you qualify, you get to answer the actual survey. If you fail to qualify, you just have to move on to the opportunity (if there are any, of course). When you complete the actual survey, you will receive the reward stated in the invitation. Aside from that, you will also automatically earn an entry to their quarterly prize draw (which I will discuss in the next section).

You will receive the market research activity invite via email. So, make sure to check your email inbox regularly so you won’t miss any opportunity to earn.

The email, as mentioned, will tell you the reward you will earn for completing it. It also contains the full details of what you need to do and the link to the survey or online discussion panel and then you can decide on a case-to-case basis if you want to participate or not.

Option 2 – Competitions

LiveTribe also holds free competitions you can join. They’re more of a prize draw rather than a competition. So, technically speaking, there’s no guarantee you can earn from this opportunity. That being said, you stand to win a pretty significant amount of cash if you ever get lucky.

livetribe competitions
You can join their monthly and quarterly prize draws to have a chance at winning a significant amount of cash.

LiveTribe has two types of prize draws you can enter. The first one is their monthly prize draw. This competition has a $100 grand prize, and all you need to do to join is answer the monthly competition question.

The other competition they offer is their quarterly prize draw. The prize for this draw is quite significant. If you win the grand prize, you will receive $5,000. To gain entry to their prize draw, all you have to do is participate in one of their market research activities (paid surveys, shopping diaries, and online panel discussions).

You are not limited to only one entry for their quarterly prize draw. As long as you continue to participate in their market research activities before the prize draw, you will get an entry. But the same goes for the other members of the site. So, the chances of winning will still be very slim.

But as you can see, the grand prize is also a very significant amount, and if you ever get lucky, and you’ll earn more than what you can earn from other survey sites in a year. That’s the allure this opportunity offers, in my opinion.

It’s not something you can rely on because everything will be left to chance, but it’s a very nice bonus if you ever get to win any of their prize draws.

How do you get paid?

For every market research activity you complete, you will earn a certain number of points, which will be credited to your LiveTribe account balance. But what can you do with the points you’ve earned?

Well, LiveTribe offers a few different payment methods. You can exchange your points for various gift cards from Amazon, DealsDirect, oo.com.au, and more. For this kind of reward, you will need to earn at least 15,650 points, which is equivalent to $10 (Australian Dollars).

You can also convert your points to cash via PayPal. To do so, you will need to earn 42,000 points. That will be equivalent to $50. You can also get paid via EFTPOS money card. For this option, you will need to earn 44,000 points and it will be equivalent to $50 as well.

As you can see, the threshold you need to reach will vary depending on your choice of mode of payment. I prefer PayPal, but the threshold is quite high, in my opinion. So, you’ll have to wait a long time before you can withdraw any cash from this site.

If you prefer sites that allow you to withdraw your earnings quickly, I recommend you check out the fastest paying sites instead.

Their payment system is relatively straightforward, but it’s quite hard to figure out the monetary value of the points you’ve earned because the conversion rate will vary depending on the payment method you choose.

How much money can you make?

The money you can earn from LiveTribe will depend on how many market research activities you can complete. And the number 1 factor that affects that is the number of times you will receive invites from LiveTribe.

And unfortunately, this is something you have no control over. The best thing you can do to maximize your earnings from this site is to always accept the invites that LiveTribe will send your way.

As for how much you can earn, I can only personally attest to the amount you can earn from their surveys. Usually, the amount you will earn from their surveys will be around $1 to $1.5. It’s a decent amount, considering their surveys don’t take that long to complete.

For the other types of market research activities, as I’ve explained earlier, they usually pay more since they require more time and effort on your end. So, if you ever receive an invite to participate in those activities, make it a point to accept them if you want to earn more.

But overall, I would say their earning potential isn’t that good simply because they don’t offer a lot of earning opportunities. The prize for their competitions is pretty huge, but you can’t rely on it.

livetribe mobile

Can you use it on mobile?

LiveTribe doesn’t have a mobile app you can download. However, their site is accessible from a mobile device if you use a mobile web browser. And the good thing is that their site is mobile-friendly. So you can read all the content without zooming in.

You can also easily navigate their site. This can come in quite handy when you receive survey invites, and you are not in front of your computer because you can still answer their surveys immediately with relative ease.

Who can join LiveTribe?

LiveTribe is only available for people who live in Australia and New Zealand. So, if you live somewhere else, you may be able to register, but you will never receive an invite for their market research activities. So, I would say don’t even bother signing up if you don’t live in Australia or New Zealand.

If you are looking for more survey sites that are available in Australia, I would recommend you also check out the top survey sites in Australia.

If you live in New Zealand, you can check out the top survey sites in New Zealand instead.

how to sign up on livetribe
To become a member, you just have to fill out their registration form or use your Facebook account to join.

You also have to be at least 18 years of age to sign up as a member. And speaking of signing up, their registration process is relatively easy. You just fill out their registration form or use your Facebook account to log in.

Then, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Just click the link in the email to complete your registration. Once you are done, you can now log in to their member dashboard.

You will also receive 1,000 points as a sign-up bonus, which isn’t much, but at least it’s something. Some other sites don’t even bother giving any sign-up bonus.

Can you get support?

If you have any questions about their site, you can check out their Help Centre page. It discusses some of the basic topics you need to know.

But if you can’t find the answers you are looking for, you can contact their support team instead. Just click on the “Contact” link at the bottom of their website to access their contact form.

Just fill out the necessary fields and submit the form. Overall, I would say they have a decent support system in place for their member since you can easily get in touch with their support team. But I do wish they would put more information on their Help Centre page.

Final Verdict

LiveTribe is a legit survey site that will reward you for participating in their market research activities. It has a couple of good features, but it also has certain limitations you need to consider.

Let me wrap up this review by summarizing its pros and cons to give you a better overview of what it has to offer. Then, you can decide if it is really a great fit or not.

pros

Pros:

  • Offers payment via PayPal
  • Their site is mobile-friendly
cons

Cons:

  • Limited earning opportunities
  • High payout threshold for cash rewards

In my opinion, LiveTribe is only worth joining if you are looking for additional sites to earn from. It’s not a great primary site to earn from, but it can still be worth joining simply because of the high cash prize for their quarterly prize draw.

So, if you get lucky, you can win a pretty huge amount. Just don’t expect to earn a lot from this site since their earning opportunities are pretty limited. The threshold is also quite high for their cash rewards. So, you’ll have to be very patient since it will take a lot of time before you can withdraw your earnings.

That’s why if you are looking for primary sites to earn from, I would recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites on this list all have good earning potential and most of them have a relatively low payout threshold.

Plus, you will definitely find a site you can join regardless of where you live.

  1. Very slow to accumulate points and they do not pay a fair reward for the effort you put for surveys. It will take months/years for accumulating points for your first redemption. Even after redemption they are not going to send you the reward. I just deleted my account.

  2. Waste of time and effort for nothing. Almost all surveys are 15 minutes 700 points or less and mostly you will be screened out of some criteria and you will get just 160 bonus points. For a minimum redemption, $20 Giftpay Voucher you need @16000 points. So you need to attend a minimum of 40-50 surveys, which means you have to spend 20-25 Hrs. Tired of their poorly presented surveys you definitely stop doing their surveys without claiming any reward after completing many surveys. They want the same from each panelist then only they can make a good amount from them without paying a single penny. By chance if you could earn minimum points and make a redemption then it will take minimum 2 months to reach you the reward, that also not sure you may need to mail them frequently for their vague response. In between your account may be deleted without any proper reason. I stopped attending their surveys after completing more than 25 surveys and collected @9000 points.

    • Unlucky, I got 1500 points, checked the rewards page, did the maths and immediately said nope. A 15-20 min survey will give around 1000 points (less than $1). I can make the min payout on this survey site on another in less than 90 mins of doing surveys.

    • I am a verified member of LiveTribe. I honestly attended and completed more than 60 surveys, and I spent a minimum of 15 hours collecting enough points for a $50 PayPal cash credit. While selecting the PayPal cash option and clicking the redeem button, nothing happens. I complained to the support team but got no response. On other survey sites, the minimum PayPal payout is $5, and it will be credited to our account immediately once we redeem. For LiveTribe, the minimum PayPal cash payout is $50, and we have to wait 6–8 weeks before crediting the amount. Utterly disappointed.

  3. Useless and BS survey site. I wasted my time and effort for their rubbish surveys. They used me for their surveys and rejected my claim. It took more than 6 months for me to collect points for just a $50 PayPal cash. Over11 weeks back I made a claim and it’s still not credited. For PayPal credit the waiting time is 8 weeks that is not acceptable. I don’t know why they need like this customer support team; I send many emails but no response.

  4. I am a NZ resident joined this survey site 7 months ago but till now I haven’t got a single survey request. I think this company is collecting NZ residents personal data just for selling to other third party websites and making money. After registration with this website my inbox is filled with nonsense and useless ads.

  5. I joined this survey site 7 months ago by without considering the worst reviews on this company and started attending their surveys. Later, I experienced that it was very difficult to complete their surveys and collect points; in most of the surveys, you will be screened out and qualify for just 120 disqualification points same time you need a minimum of 15650 points for a minimum redemption of a $20 GiftPay voucher. Most of the surveys are 700 points 15 mins long. I attended not less than 30 surveys and completed 10 surveys for my first redemption. There is a huge difference in points required between eftpos, PayPal, and GiftPay cards ($50 GiftPay Voucher = 38650 points, but for the minimum $50 PayPal Deposit, you need 42000 points). The company itself confirms a long waiting period of 6–8 weeks to reach you with the reward.
I redeemed my hardly earned points for a $30 gift card two months ago. After the promised waiting period of 6–8 weeks they didn’t send me the voucher so I emailed their customer service, but they terminated my account, saying there was some illegal activity from my side. I honestly attended their surveys and redeemed points—I am sure nothing else I did; they didn’t say what illegal activity I was involved in. It was a complete waste of time and effort for me, but I am sure they made a good amount from the surveys I completed. They are just exploiting new members ignorance and innocence.

    • I have been with LiveTribe for many years, and now and then the value for members time is the same: 840 points = $1. Now payment options are very limited, and the minimum redemption has doubled to $20, so you have to complete a minimum of 25 surveys to collect points for your first redemption and wait 2-3 months. Before, even though the reward payment threshold was 2 months, they honored my claims at least within 3 months after my complaint to customer support. In the last two years, members’ claims have been ignored. I have been waiting for more than 2 months for my last 3 redemptions for $100. There has been no response to my emails from the support team, and this is the right time to boycott. Don’t go anywhere near them!

    • After 8 months of experience with LiveTribe, I can say this survey site is unprofessional, unlawful, unethical, useless, dishonest, and rubbish. I have already unsubscribed from LiveTribe and deleted my account. I don’t want their gift voucher that I claimed three months ago. In my opinion, just keep away from this BS survey site and save your valuable time.
