Methinks is an app that claims you can earn by sharing your insights about specific products and services. If you are looking to earn extra cash and want your opinion to be heard at the same time, you might think this sounds like a great deal.
But is the Methinks app legit and a way to earn, or is it a waste of time? I have tested it thoroughly myself and have compared it to the hundreds of other free online earning methods I have tested over the last many years.
This Methinks app review will give you an inside look and reveal all the details about the app including the pros and the cons. After reading it, you will know exactly what to expect and can decide if you should join or not.
So, let’s go ahead and take a closer look at this app.
What is Methinks, and what does it offer?
Methinks is an app that allows you to participate in different market research activities. They have clients who are willing to pay for information and feedback from real consumers, and that is why we can earn.
And let me just reveal right away that it is indeed a legit app since it really will pay you if you successfully complete a project. So now, we have to take a closer look at the earning opportunities it offers so you will understand how the app works.
It will give you an idea of how much you can earn from it and how much effort it requires, so you can easily see if it is the right opportunity for you or not. So, here’s how to earn from Methinks.
Option 1 – Projects
The bulk of your earnings from this app will come from completing projects. These are essentially paid market research activities where you will get paid when you fulfill all the requirements.

But before you can work on projects, you have to build your Methinks profile. The first time you log in to the app, you will immediately be asked to complete this. There are 8 sections for your profile, but the most important section is the Core Profile.
So, if you are in a hurry, I would suggest you complete this first and work on the other sections later. Once you complete the Core Profile, you can apply for projects.

To view the projects available, just press the Paid Projects option at the bottom of the app. You will then see something similar to the photo shown above. As you can see, you will immediately see how much money you will earn for completing a specific project.
Now, to view the full details of the project, just press it. You will then see what the project is asking you to do. It will also show you which region it is available in. So, if you don’t belong to the required region, then don’t apply for it.
often, the projects will involve answering a survey. The surveys are a bit different because you will have to apply for them before you can answer them. Usually, on other survey sites, you will just have to answer a set of qualifying questions, and if you qualify, you get to answer the survey.
But with Methinks, you will have to wait for approval from Methinks before you can answer the survey. It usually takes around 24 to 48 hours for your application to be approved. When I was doing my testing, it didn’t take more than 24 hours before I heard back from them. Methinks will notify you via push notification if you get accepted for the project.
There are also sometimes projects where you need to participate in online interviews, test websites or apps, or multi-day studies. Usually, the longer and more involved a project is, the higher the reward you will get for participating.
Once you get accepted, you can complete the project. If everything goes well, you will receive the compensation indicated in the project description. Now, if the company who ordered the project likes your work, you may get invited for follow-up earning opportunities like an online interview.
Consider yourself lucky when this happens because their follow-up earning opportunities usually pay more than the original project. So, that’s a great chance to earn more. So, always do your best when working on projects.
Option 2 – Referral Program
The other way to earn from Methinks is by participating in their referral program. If you haven’t encountered a referral program before, it’s a form of earning opportunity where you will be rewarded for inviting other people to join the app. In other words, you get paid to promote it.
In Methinks’ case, all you have to do is share your referral code with the person you want to invite. Then, they have to install and sign up as a member of Methinks. Once they are logged in to the app, they have to press the menu option on the upper left-hand corner and select “Invitation Code”.
Then, they have to input your referral code. Once they’ve done that, they will become your referral. But, to receive the reward, your referral must complete a project. When this happens, both you and the person you invited will receive a bonus at the value of 50% of their first gig’s compensation (up to $10).
It’s a fair condition, and it is great that both you and your referral will get a bonus, in my opinion. However, the earning potential is quite limited as you can earn a maximum of $5 bonus per person you invite.
Some other referral programs will give you a continuous commission as long as the person you invite stays active. But it can still be a nice way to earn some extra money and also give a bonus to people you know who might want to join.

How do you get paid?
Every time you complete a project, you will receive compensation, which will be credited to your Methinks account balance. Now, the good thing about Methinks is that it doesn’t have a payout threshold you need to reach to withdraw your earnings. You will get paid right away.

Now, the app offers two reward options – PayPal and Amazon gift cards. As mentioned earlier, each project will have a set payment method. It will usually be via PayPal, but from time to time, you will encounter projects that will be paid in Amazon gift cards.
When you complete a project, it usually takes one week (at most) for the payment to be credited to your account. When that happens, you will receive the payment within 24 hours. So, it’s a pretty decent turnaround, in my opinion.
I also like that you don’t need to reach a payout threshold to withdraw your earnings. So, withdrawing your earnings will be quite fast. If you are interested in more sites that will allow you to withdraw your earnings quickly, I recommend you also check out the fastest paying sites.
How much money can you make?
The amount you can earn from this app will mostly depend on how often you can complete a project.
Methinks pays a decent amount for every project it offers, in my opinion. So, the factor that will mostly affect your earnings is how often you can participate in a project.
This is where Methinks is lacking, in my opinion. It has limited earning opportunities offered, and if there aren’t any projects available in your region, you won’t earn a lot. You will have to rely on their referral program.
Plus, most of the projects offered are usually for people who live in Canada and the US. So, if you don’t live in any of the two countries, there’s little opportunity for you to earn from this app. Sure, you will encounter projects that are available in your region from time to time, but that’s few and far between.
The best thing you can do to maximize your chances of earning from Methinks is to complete your profile. Make sure you fill out all the eight sections on your profile page. When you do that, you will get a higher chance of receiving more project offers.
But overall, I would still say the earning potential of this app isn’t that good even though it pays well.
Can you use it on a desktop?
You can log in to the Methinks dashboard from your desktop or laptop, but you won’t be able to work on projects. All you can do on the web version of their dashboard is check the status of the projects you’ve done and the payments that you will be receiving.
So, you will need to use a mobile device to earn from this app.

Fortunately, their app is available for both iOS and Android devices. So you won’t have any problems with compatibility. As for their app, it is also very user-friendly. You will easily get used to how to navigate it.
Who can join Methinks?
Methinks is available globally, so you can register as a member regardless of where you live. But you have to be at least 18 years of age to register. If you are below 18 and want to participate you have to have consent from your parents and guardian.

To sign up as a member, you have to first install the app on your mobile device. Then, when you open the app for the first time, you will have the choice to sign up using your own email address and password, or you can use your Facebook or Google account.
Once you are done with that, you will be logged in to the app, and you will be asked to complete your profile. I would suggest you do this first since you won’t be able to apply for projects if you don’t have a complete Core Profile.
When you are done with building your profile, you can start applying for projects if there are any available.
Can you get support?
If you have any questions about the app or your account, you can first refer to their FAQ page. It is not available inside the app, so you will have to go to their website to view it. Their FAQ page discusses most of the basic topics you need to know about the app.
But if you can’t find the answers you are looking for, you can send your inquiry to their support team using the contact form you can find inside the app. You can also use the contact form on their website for your inquiries.
Overall, I would say the app has a decent support system in place for its members since it offers a convenient way for you to get assistance. But I do wish their FAQ page was also available in their app.
Final Verdict
Methinks is a legit survey app that will reward you for completing projects and inviting other people to use the app. It has a couple of good features to offer, but it also has a couple of limitations you need to consider.
Let’s end this review with a summary of its pros and cons so you can get an overview of what the app has to offer. Then you can decide if it is really an app you should use or not.

Pros:
- Offers a simple way to earn
- Pays rather well
- No payout threshold

Cons:
- Limited earning opportunities
- Building your profile will take time, and you won’t get paid for it
Overall, I would say Methinks is a decent app, but mainly if you live in Canada or the US.
While it is available globally, it is only really profitable if you live in the countries mentioned because these regions have more projects available.
If you live somewhere else, you will struggle to earn from this app. Then you are better off joining other apps or sites that have opportunities available globally. That’s why I mainly recommend you use this app if you are in Canada or the US.
If you live elsewhere, I recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites and apps on this list all have good earning potential, and you will be able to find a site you can earn from regularly, regardless of where you live.
