I recently encountered an app called Quest that claims you can earn extra cash by working on various jobs. So, if you are looking for a side hustle, you might be interested in using it.
However, I urge you to keep reading this Quest app review because it will give you an inside look at what it offers. Then, you will know exactly what to expect from it before installing it.
It’s the best way to figure out if Quest is worth it or not. So, let’s begin, shall we?
What is Quest, and what does it offer?
Quest is a gig economy app that lets you earn by working on various quests as a “hero”. And yes, it is legitimate, based on my testing, as you can actually earn money from the jobs found inside the app.
However, that doesn’t automatically mean it is an app worth using. To find out if it is worth it, you must first understand how it works. The best way to do so is to examine the earning opportunity it offers, so you will know exactly how much time and effort are needed to earn.
So, here’s how to earn from Quest.
The earning opportunity – Quests
The only way to earn from Quest is by taking on “Quests”, which are just jobs you can do to earn money.
After you register as a “Hero”, which is what the app calls its workers, you will be asked to indicate the skills you have (refer to the photo below).

Once you’ve set your profile, the app uses its AI technology to match you with the quests that match your skills and location. Then, all you have to do is choose the quest you want to work on.
Each quest will indicate the potential amount you can earn. You can contact the “Citizen”, which is what the app refers to as its members who are seeking assistance from others. As a Hero, you can negotiate the fee for doing the said Quest.
If both parties agree to the terms, then all that’s left is to do what the Citizen is asking you to do.

The types of jobs you can do on Quest are quite varied. You can work on errands like helping the citizen look for specific items. You can even teach certain subjects like Math, coding, or even sports.
When I tested the app, I found quests that asked for help finding buyers for specific items, such as shoes, dresses, concert tickets, and vehicles, among others. There were also quests for website development, creative writing, household chores, and many more.
So, there’s really a wide variety of quests to choose from, which is quite good, in my opinion, because you will definitely find something you can do.
Now, the most important thing you must remember when accepting quests is that if you somehow need to cancel, you must provide a reason for the cancellation.
If you are responsible for the cancellation, a cancellation fee of 10% of the quest price will be deducted from your next payment payout. So, cancelling quests is not a good idea, unless it is really an emergency.
This is why you must always accept quests that you are sure you can do. Otherwise, you will end up losing money.

How do you get paid?
When you work on a quest, the payment will be held in escrow by Quest. Once it is completed, the citizen will approve the payment. Quest will then release the payment to you, and it will be stored in your Quest wallet.
Then, you can withdraw your earnings anytime you want. This will be done via direct bank transfer, so you’ll be asked to link your bank account to your Quest account.
You will receive the full payment because Quest will not deduct anything from your earnings. The way the app earns is from the Citizens who post quests. There is a 5% plus $0.50 processing fee every time a citizen pays for a quest they post.
Overall, I would say its payout system is quite convenient. I like the fact that it uses a convenient payout method like direct bank transfer. If you are interested in more sites that use a convenient payout method, I recommend you also check out the top sites that pay via direct bank transfer.
How much money can you make?
The amount you can earn from Quest will mostly depend on your location, since you can negotiate the price for each quest you do, which means there’s a good chance you won’t be underpaid.
When I tested the app, I noticed that most of the quests were located in major cities in the countries where it is available (more on this later).
So, if you live in a small town, you will hardly find opportunities to earn. As for how much you can earn per quest, it’s hard to indicate an exact amount since it all depends on the type of quest you are looking for.
For example, errand-type quests pay around $5 to $10, while quests that usually involve special skills like coding, graphics design, etc., pay significantly more. But overall, I would say its earning potential is quite decent, but only if you live in a major city of a country it is available in.
Can you use it on a desktop?
Quest is a mobile-only platform, so you will need to use your phone to earn from it. The good thing is that it is available for both Android and iOS users, so compatibility won’t be an issue.

As for the app, it’s quite easy to use, so you won’t have a hard time navigating it even if it is your first time using the app. However, you will encounter pop-up ads from time to time while browsing the app.
If it weren’t for this, I would say the overall user experience it provides is quite pleasant. But as it is now, it’s just decent, in my opinion.
Who can join Quest?
Now, if you browse Quest’s website, you’ll get the impression that it is only available in Singapore. However, according to its Wikipedia page, it has already established a user base in the Philippines and the US.
So, if you live in a major city in any of the countries mentioned above, you will definitely find opportunities to earn.

To sign up as a member, you’ll have to install the app first. When you open it for the first time, you’ll have to go through the registration process. As shown in the photo above, you can sign up using your Google account, email address, or phone number.
Now, during sign-up, make sure to select the Hero option so you can earn. Then, you’ll be asked to complete your profile, where you’ll have to indicate your skills. This is necessary because, as explained earlier, Quest will need it to determine which quests to show you.
Once you are done setting up your profile, you’ll be logged in to the app. You can then start accepting quests to earn.
Can you get support?
Quest’s website has an FAQ section you can check out. It is also accessible inside the app. It discusses most of the basic topics you need to know about the platform. If you can’t find the answers you need or if you have technical concerns regarding the app, you can contact its support team instead.
You can do so by logging in to the app and clicking the Support link under the Account Settings. Simply fill out the form and hit Submit.
Final Verdict
Quest is a legit gig economy platform that lets you earn by taking on various jobs/quests. It has a couple of good features, but it also has certain limitations you need to know.
To help you with your decision, I have summarized its pros and cons, so you can see a clear overview of what it offers.

Pros:
- Uses a convenient payout method
- No payout threshold
- Offers an interesting way to earn

Cons:
- Limited earning opportunities
- You’ll encounter pop-up ads while browsing the app
In my opinion, Quest is a decent app to use if you are looking for a side hustle. However, I would only recommend you join if you live in a major city in one of the countries where it is available, because that’s where most (if not all) of the earning opportunities are located.
If you live somewhere else, you are better off finding other ways to earn because you will hardly find opportunities to earn. If that’s the case, I recommend you check out the best gig economy sites instead.
