I recently saw an ad about an app called Step Fitness Journey. The ad claims the app will let you earn good money simply by walking.
Naturally, I got curious because I’m always looking for great ways to earn extra cash online.
So, I decided to take a look at what the app offers. In this Step Fitness Journey review, I will show you the truth so you will know exactly what to expect from it before installing it. Then, you can identify if it is an app that is worth using or not.
And let me just tell you now that there are a few important details you need to know about the app. So, let’s dive in, shall we?
What is Step Fitness Journey, and what does it offer?
Step Fitness Journey is a walk-and-earn app that will supposedly let you earn money by walking. At first glance, it looks like a great way to earn extra cash. But in reality, there are a couple of things you need to know about it.
Now, to find out if it is worth using, you must understand how it works. The only way to do so is to examine the earning opportunities it offers, so you will have a good idea of how much time and effort you must invest in this app.
For that, I have made a video that gives you an inside look and shows exactly what Step Fitness Journey offers. You can also read all the details below the video.

Option 1 – Walking
You can supposedly earn rewards by walking. As you can probably tell, the app can count the steps you’ve taken. You just need to allow it to track your physical activities.

The way it works is that you’ll be able to collect rewards from the app every time you’ve taken 50 steps. However, there’s a maximum number of steps you can take to earn rewards. From what I can see, you’ll only be rewarded for a maximum of 3,000 steps per day.
The reward will be in the form of coins. Later, I will discuss what you can do with the coins you’ve earned. When collecting rewards, you’ll be asked to view an ad, which typically lasts 30 seconds to a minute.
This is the annoying part of using the app, in my opinion. You’ll have to deal with a lot of annoying video ads. Plus, most of the ads shown are also promoting get-rich-quick schemes that you should be wary of. So, in the end, it’s a bit spammy, in my opinion.
Option 2 – Playing Simple Games
You can earn more rewards by playing simple games found inside the app. These are games of chance where you can supposedly win more rewards just by scratching digital cards or playing the spin-the-wheel game.

They are quite easy to play and you are given free chances to play each game per day. Most of the time, you’ll win additional coins by playing these games.
However, just like the first opportunity, you’ll also be bombarded with video ads while playing. When collecting your winnings, you will have to watch a video ad from time to time. These are the same ads that will appear when claiming rewards for walking.
In the end, you’ll have to spend more time viewing ads than working on the app, and later, you will understand why.

How do you get paid?
Both earning opportunities Step Fitness Journey offers will reward you with coins. Now, the question is, what can you do with the coins you’ve earned?

Well, as shown in the photo above, you can supposedly convert the coins you’ve earned to PayPal cash or various other gift cards. The conversion rate is 10 coins to $1.
The problem with Step Fitness Journey’s payout method, as you can see in the photo above, is that the payout threshold is insanely high. You’ll need to earn at least 5,000 coins to withdraw your earnings. That will be worth $500.
It’s a very unusual and high threshold, in my opinion, and to me, it almost looks like the app is saying you won’t get paid. In my experience, apps or websites with an insanely high payout threshold almost always don’t intend to pay their members.
In the next section, you will find out if you will indeed be able to withdraw your earnings from the app. Now, if you are looking for apps or websites with a low threshold, I recommend you check out the fastest paying sites instead.
Red flags you need to be aware of
If you’ve noticed, I have been mentioning the word “supposedly” throughout this review. The reason for this is that I regard Step Fitness Journey as a suspicious app because of the several red flags I’ve encountered while testing it.
So, let me discuss these red flags so that you’ll understand why I deem it a suspicious app and so that you will know how to spot these red flags on other apps and sites in the future.
Red Flag #1 – Unrealistic Payout Threshold
As I’ve mentioned earlier, Step Fitness Journey has an unrealistic payout threshold of $500. I say unrealistic because most reward apps or sites usually don’t have this high of a threshold. They are usually within the $10 to $20 range, so having a threshold this high will really cause problems when withdrawing your earnings.
First, it’s almost impossible to reach this threshold in just a short time, especially since the app doesn’t offer high rewards. Aside from that, when you get close to the threshold, the app will suddenly drastically decrease the rewards you can earn from the opportunities it offers.
All the while, they will be earning from all the ads you’ve watched. In the end, you’ll just lose interest and stop trying to reach the threshold. And even if, by some miracle, you manage to reach the threshold, the app will then just add another hurdle you’ll need to clear to withdraw your earnings.
This is how it usually works with apps and websites with an unusually high payout threshold, based on my years of experience testing reward apps and sites. This leads me to conclude that Step Fitness Journey is no different.
Red Flag #2 – The App is in Early Access Mode
The developers of the app have set it to early access mode. Now, why is this a red flag?
Well, sometimes, an app is set this way because it is really on a trial run. But most of the time, developers tend to do this to avoid getting negative reviews from users.
You see, if people see that the app has a lot of negative reviews or a very low rating on the app store, then chances are they won’t download the app and sign up as a member. As a result, the developer won’t be able to earn since no one will be using the app to watch the ads.
It’s an effective strategy to avoid negative reviews, and I have seen it a hundred times over. Most (if not all) of the earning apps that are in early access are problematic apps. You’ll seldom find one that is on a real trial run. At least, that’s what I’ve observed over the years.
Red Flag #3 – Showing Spammy Ads
As mentioned earlier, the app keeps showing spammy ads. These ads are usually get-rich-quick schemes that you are supposed to avoid.
Now, based on my experience, only problematic ads and sites show these kinds of ads. As the saying goes, “birds of the same feather flock together”. This is why I consider this feature as a red flag because most of the time, apps or sites that show these types of ads won’t pay you.
Only unethical developers agree to show ads that are spammy and scam-like, in my opinion and experience. That’s why every time you encounter an app or website that keeps showing get-rich-quick ads, you should be wary of them and avoid using them further. Nothing good will ever happen if you keep using those sites and apps.
Final Verdict
Step Fitness Journey is an app that will supposedly reward you for walking. It doesn’t have good features, only certain red flags you need to be aware of.
Let me summarize its pros and cons to give you an overview of what it truly offers. Then, you will understand why it’s not something I recommend you use.

Pros:
- N/A

Cons:
- Has a very unrealistic payout threshold
- Very spammy
- You can’t see any reviews about it on its app store page
If it’s not clear to you yet, I don’t recommend you use Step Fitness Journey. Totally agree with all you have said. It doesn’t work if you want to earn money. You might as well go to work and do a real job. I am an o.a.p and am appalled that these apps are still going.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Hello, how do you get money from me? ID He asks where I can find it.
Sorry but I do not understand what you mean?
Hello how long to get money while you withdraw it doesn’t come directly why?
It usually takes some time to process payments. If you have issues, you should contact their support.
Well I sat there this evening and took my brain out and left it on the kitchen counter while going through 50 ads. I finally got to the £500 reward and chose the amazon gift card which then said ill get paid in 3 days….lol
We shall see and I will report again on my findings
Did they finally pay you after 3days
I also reached the 5000 goal and I chose the PayPal option. Did you ever get paid?
Did you?? Also opted for the PP and after watching another 50 ads to verify, they want me to watch 120 ads in 5 days, even though pay out is supposed to be in 19 hrs ( was 3 days)
Did they finally pay you after the three days?
I’ve managed to reach every goal with the PayPal option and after watching tons of ad videos and a month later still no payout. Once you’ve watched the 150+ ads to verify you get put into a queue and you can improve your position in the queue by watching ads. Only problem is that once you stop watching those ads your position falls down the queue again.
Thanks for sharing. Keep me updated.
it is a big scam.It doesnt pay you. I worked there from my phone. It says you have to be nb 1 in the queue for the payment (which is not the procedue for paypal, bank trasfer etc), and you never get to be nb 1 no matterhow many videos you watch. I want to sue them and to report them. They owe me 8000 ron. SO, Step Fitness Journey is a big scam.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I completely agree it is an app to stay away from.
