Vans Product Testing – Does it Exist? (The Alternative)

Most top shoe brands like Nike and Adidas have product testing programs where people can try out unreleased shoes for free. So, you might be wondering if Vans offers the same thing.

Can you become a Vans product tester?

As mentioned above, becoming a product tester is a great way to get free stuff. Plus, you get to influence the future products the brand you are testing for will release.

Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a Vans product testing program.

They do all their testing in-house, so they don’t recruit people outside the company to try out their products, which is a shame because a product testing program is a great way to get valuable feedback directly from your customers about the products you release.

But I’m here to offer an alternative where you can still get a chance to score free Vans shoes. It’s called the Vans Family program. In this guide, I’ll explain what this program offers, so you will know what to expect from it.

What is Vans Family?

Vans Family is a loyalty program where you can earn points and use them to redeem various rewards or have a chance at winning free shoes.

All you have to do is go to the Vans Family website and sign up for the Vans Family program. Later, I will explain how you can sign up.

Once you become a member of the program, you can start earning points that you can use to redeem various rewards. In the next section, I will explain how you can earn points.

How to earn points on Vans Family?

There used to be a couple of ways to earn points from the Vans Family program. First, you can shop from any of their local stores and earn points. You can also earn points if you shop from the website.

Next, you can earn points by completing short tasks. However, this method is not available anymore. So, the only way you can earn points is to buy Vans products from its online store or any Vans physical store.

How many points can you earn?

The points you can earn will vary depending on the method you use. If you buy a Vans product from a local Vans store or online store, you will earn 10 points for every dollar you spend.

Take note that you won’t earn any points if you buy the Vans product from a store that just sells Vans products.

But if you completed tasks from the site, the points you will earn will vary depending on the tasks you completed. The simpler tasks that will usually take only a couple of minutes to complete will reward you with around 25 to 50 points.

The more complicated tasks will give you around 50 to 100 points. But as explained earlier, this appears to be unavailable anymore.

It’s not surprising because, after all, Vans Family is a loyalty program. And loyalty programs are designed to incentivize members who keep buying products. So, the more products you buy, the more points you will earn. That’s just how loyalty programs work.

What can you redeem with the points you’ve earned?

The bad news is that if you were expecting that this is a guaranteed way to get free Vans shoes, you would be disappointed. The closest thing you can get is to have a chance of winning Vans shoes for your family.

As you can see in the photo above, all you have to do to get a chance at winning Vans shoes is to confirm your email. As soon as you’ve done that, you will be given one entry to their Free Vans shoe contest. The draw for the Free Vans shoes will be indicated once you’ve met the requirement (which is to confirm your email).

Now, for the points you’ve earned, you can redeem them for various Vans accessories like face masks, pet bowls, Vans utensils, and more. Just keep in mind that you can only redeem a type of reward twice. Once you’ve redeemed a type of reward twice, it won’t be available for redemption anymore. You will have to choose other reward items.

How to join the Vans Family program?

The registration process for Vans Family is relatively straightforward. First, you have to go to the Vans website and scroll down. Then, choose the country you live in.

Once you’ve done that, you can now log in to the app and start earning points.

Does Vans Family have an app?

The answer is YES. Vans Family has a mobile app you can download. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

It is very user-friendly, so you will easily get used to navigating it. That’s a good thing because you will need to use the app to earn points when you are buying Vans products from a Vans store.

Are the other ways to earn from Vans?

Vans used to have an affiliate program you could apply for. This is the only other way you can earn from Vans.

But let me just tell you right now that it was pretty hard to get into their affiliate program, so it’s kind of a long shot, in my opinion.

However, as of updating this review, it seems the affiliate program for Vans Family has been discontinued. So, you can no longer earn rewards from this type of earning opportunity.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, Vans product testing is non-existent. The company likes to keep its product development in-house, so you, as a consumer, won’t get a chance to provide input for their future products.

However, as explained above, you can join the Vans Family program to get a chance to win free Vans shoes as well as other Vans accessories.

If you love this brand, I highly recommend you join this loyalty program because you can get some pretty cool stuff (provided it is available in your country, of course).
