Do you want to try new products and earn at the same time?
Then product testing sites can be a great option.
They will usually pay you to test unreleased products. Some sites will even let you keep the products you’ve tested.
If this sounds interesting to you, this can be a good opportunity to earn some cash and get free products at the same time.
Now, the question is, which sites offer this kind of opportunity? And how do you find the worthwhile options?
This is where this guide will come in – it will help you find the best legit product testing sites. I have tested these sites myself, so I can provide honest insight into what they offer.
I will include a summary of each site, so you can easily determine which ones suit you best.
All the sites I will include are legit and free to join. You just need to invest a bit of time and some effort to earn.
Are all product testing sites safe?
If you do a Google search on product testing, you’ll find a lot of product testing companies. The problem is that most of them are either spammy or scam sites. There are only a few select sites that are truly worth your time, in my experience.
By reading this article, you won’t have to go through the painstaking process of trying out every product testing website you can find to determine which ones are worth it and which ones aren’t. Just choose which ones are a good fit for you on the list below.
How are the earning opportunities on product testing websites?
Some of the sites I will include in this guide are also paid survey sites or offer other ways to earn as well.
This is a good thing because you will then still have ways to earn even if there aren’t any product testing opportunities available. However, I will also include pure product testing sites, so you can still join sites that are guaranteed to let you test out products.
And yes, you will be able to earn a decent amount from these sites because they have decent earning potential. However, it’s really hard to say if you can test out products often, so you can earn regularly.
Several factors will affect how often you can test products, and the main one is usually your location. If you live in a city or country where plenty of companies are doing market research, then chances are, you’ll be able to test products pretty often.
But just to be clear, testing products is not a way to make a living. You won’t get rich from joining these sites. Instead, it can just be a good supplementary source of extra income and can be a way to get free products.
Also, the real value this kind of site offers is that you can help shape companies' products through the feedback you provide.
Now, if you want to maximize your earnings, I would recommend you join around 5 to 7 sites to gain access to more opportunities. You can always join more later when you feel like you can handle more product testing.
13 best product testing sites
As mentioned above, all the sites in this guide are legit and free to join. So, you can just sign up and be eligible to test products immediately. These are all the sites that I have found to be truly worth your time.
I will keep updating this guide if I find new product testing sites that are worth it. So, make sure to bookmark this page and visit it from time to time for new opportunities.
#1 – Survey Junkie
Survey Junkie is mainly known as a paid survey site, but you can also once in a while, get access to testing products here.
The great thing about the product tests on Survey Junkie is that you will get paid to do them, unlike some other sites where you just get free products but no other payment.
But you should make sure to also use some of the other earning methods it offers.
You can get paid in cash via PayPal, bank transfer, or choose between different gift cards. Just be aware that it is only available in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK.
#2 – PineCone Research
PineCone Research is mainly a survey site that offers paid surveys as its primary earning opportunity. But, from time to time, it will invite you to test out new products and provide feedback.
PineCone Research will pay you via direct bank transfer, or you can convert your rewards to a prepaid VISA card, products, or gift cards. Their payout threshold is only $3, which is quite low. So you can withdraw your earnings quite quickly.
The only downside is that PineCone Research is an invite-only site. So, you will need an invitation to actually join this site. And they only open slots for certain countries at specific times. If you want to check if you can join this site, you can join PineCone Research here.
With luck, you might be able to squeeze in and join their site.
#3 – Ipsos i-Say
Ipsos i-Say is mainly a survey site. So, the primary way of earning from this site is by answering their paid surveys. But, sometimes, they might invite you to participate in product testing opportunities as well.
When you earn rewards on this site, you can exchange them for cash via PayPal, or you can redeem various gift cards instead. However, the reward options, as well as the payout threshold, will vary from country to country (the threshold is usually $10 for most countries). Fortunately, Ipsos i-Say is available in more than 100 countries.
So, you can more or less register as a member regardless of where you live. Just be aware that their product testing opportunity will only be available in a few select countries like the US or the UK.
#4 – Product Report Card
Product Report Card is a platform where you can earn in several ways.
You can join from 17 different countries, and one of the opportunities is to test products.
In addition to this, you can also earn by taking paid surveys, participating in paid studies, and doing product reviews.
The exact payout options will depend on the task you do, but you can always see the reward you will et before taking part in a task.
#5 – Sephora
Sephora is a bit more unique than the other sites listed on this list. It’s a site that sells cosmetic products. So, you can’t earn anything from it.
But if you like receiving free beauty products, Sephora gives out free samples from time to time. You can check out their free samples section here. They usually have a high volume of orders being placed, though.
So, their samples are going out of stock quite fast. So, sometimes, if you have selected a product and it goes out of stock, you may receive different samples. So, don’t be alarmed when you receive a different product. Anyway, it’s still free stuff, right?
#6 – Ripple Street
Ripple Street is a product-testing app. If you want to become a product tester for them, you need to live in the US or Canada.
You can find quite a lot of events here (what they call the testing opportunities). Most of the products you will receive are a variety of perishable goods like beverages, food, and pet food. But from time to time, there are events that will hand out electronic gadgets.
Just be aware that you will not get paid to test the products. The reward will be the free products you get.
#7 – Friends & Neighbors
Friends & Neighbors is a platform owned by Johnson and Johnson. When you become a member of this platform, you will be invited to participate in product tests, focus groups, discussion forums, and online surveys.
The products you will be testing and discussing in their focus groups will be products from Johnson and Johnson. So, if you like J&J products, this is a platform that you should join. After you finish a product testing opportunity or other research activities, you may receive an honorarium through their JP Morgan Chase Payment System.
#8 – Nike product testing
Nike is one of the most popular sports brands, and it is possible to become a Nike Product Tester.
You just need to be aware that they do not always accept new members, and even if you get accepted, there is no guarantee of how often you will get to test products.
Also, you will not get paid to test the products, and you will also not get to keep the products after testing.
Therefore, this is only a good option if you love Nike and want to help shape future products and get to test them before they are released.
#9 – American Consumer Opinion
American Consumer Opinion is mainly a paid survey site where you can primarily earn from answering paid surveys. But, from time to time, you will be invited to test out products and earn rewards.
You can then convert your rewards from surveys, product testing, and other research activities into cash via PayPal or Hyperwallet once you’ve earned at least $10. Aside from that, you can also redeem other rewards from time to time, depending on the country you live in.
And even though its name is American Consumer Opinion, it is available worldwide. So, you can register as a member regardless of where you live.
#10 – Reebok Product Testing
If you are a sneakerhead or you just simply love shoes, one option many have asked me about is Reebok Product Testing.
However, at the time of updating this article, Reebok no longer offers this option. The website is down but still wanted to mention it here as many people keep asking me about it.
You used to be able to get invited to test out unreleased Reebok products.
If they, at some point, open this program again, I will update this article with more info.
For now, you need to use some of the other options on the list.
#11 – Adidas product testing
If you love Adidas, you will be happy to know it is possible to become an Adidas product tester.
You just need to do it with the right expectations. Just like their competitors, they offer product testing where you do not get paid, and you also cannot keep the products after finishing your tasks.
It is only relevant if you love the brand and want to improve their products and get to test products before they are released.
If you are mainly looking for a way to earn by testing, you should go for some of the other options on this list instead.
#12 – Alba Volunteers
Alba Volunteers is a product testing site that mainly offers product testing as its mode of earning. Aside from product testing, you can also participate in clinical studies to earn more rewards.
It’s a little bit more specific since it focuses more on medical and some cosmetics products. However, this platform is only available if you live near Edinburgh, Scotland. So, the requirement to join is a bit narrow.
But if you qualify, then you will have the chance to participate in unique product testing opportunities.
#13 – InStyle Trendsetters
InStyle Trendsetters is the exclusive online community of InStyle magazine. For you to potentially earn rewards, you must participate in their research activities. These research activities will usually ask you to answer surveys, while sometimes, you’ll have to review products.
It doesn't pay you to test products, but you get to keep them. Aside from that, after completing a research activity, you’ll get an entry to their quarterly prize draw, where you can potentially win a prize.
It is only available in the US and is only recommended for fashion and style enthusiasts.
