Zap Surveys Review – Legit and Worth It? (Full Details)

Zap Surveys is a survey app and website that supposedly makes it possible for you to earn by sharing your opinion on the go.

But is Zap Surveys legit and worth it or should you go for alternatives instead?

Let me reveal right away that it is a legit app – however, it also has some big downsides you need to be aware of before joining, as it is not the best way to earn by taking surveys for all.

In this Zap Surveys review, I will share all the details, my experiences with the app, and what I like and dislike about it so it will be easy for you to see if it is an app you want to download or not.

What is Zap Surveys, and what does it offer?

Zap Survey used to only have an app (both for Android and iOS). However, it has gone through a lot of updates since I first tested it, and you can now also join and earn on the website.

In fact, I have had some issues with logging in through the app and kept getting errors, but I can easily get access to the website. So, if you have the same issues, it might be best to just use the website.

It used to be owned by the company “Apps that pay” which also owns other survey apps and survey sites. However, after they have completely updated the website, they no longer have any info about who is behind it, which is a bit strange, in my opinion.

You can mainly earn by doing surveys, but there are also a few other ways to earn a bit extra.

Option 1 – Paid surveys:

Paid surveys is what Zap Surveys app and website are mostly about, and it is the way you can make the most money.

The surveys are offered through different third-party portals.

Where I am located, it only has one provider, at the time of updating this review. That might be different in other countries but only having one survey provider means you will find limited number of opportunities to earn.

If you are using survey sites already, you have probably seen the survey provider/providers before as these portals are used by many other survey sites like, for example PrizeRebel and ySense. These sites do, however, offer a number of other earning methods as well, and overall, have better opportunities than Zap Surveys, in my opinion.

Be aware that the first time you want to take a survey through one of these portals, you will be asked to fill out your basic demographic info again (age, where you live, gender, income, etc.), and you have to do it for each portal (if you have access to more than one).

It can be a bit annoying, but at least it is only the first time you are using them, you have to fill it out. After that, it will be remembered by the app.

Option 2 – Joining bonus survey:

If you have seen any of the previous ads for Zap Surveys, you have probably seen that one of the big claims is that you are guaranteed to get $6.25 for your first survey.

This used to give you a great start, but they have now changed it, so you only get $2 for the welcome survey. It is still a great reward as it takes less than 1 minute to complete.

But be aware that it will NOT be this easy to earn with the surveys you will have access to after that.

This is just a joining survey with an extra high reward and very quick and easy questions to get you started. So, do not expect that you will be able to continue making money this fast and easily through the app.

In general, the rewards for the surveys are a lot lower than this.

Option 3 – Refer people:

You can earn a bit extra by referring people to Zap Surveys. When you are logged in, you can find a referral link. If you share this with somebody, and they join through it, you will earn a 10% everytime they earn.

However, make sure to read the full conditions of the referral program as you will only earn 10% for the first 10 people you invite.

As you can see in the image above, if you click to see the full conditions, you can read that after you have invited 10 people, you will only earn 5% for any additional people you invite.

This is a very poor referral program compared to many other survey sites. First of all, 10% is not much to start with. And that you then have to click to read the full conditions to find out that it will quickly be lowered is not very transparent, in my opinion.

Zap Surveys also used to offer a joining bonus to anyone who used a Zap Surveys invitation code when joining, but they have also removed this. So overall, it is a very poor referral program now, in my opinion.

Option 6 – Daily login bonus and survey streak:

The Zap Surveys app used to have a quite good daily bonus opportunity. They have also changed this – even though it still exists, it is not a way to earn a lot, but if you like using the site/app anyway, it can be a way to earn a bit extra.

You just have to log in and then click a button, and then you will get a small bonus.

It pays you $0.01-$0.03, depending on your country for every day you do this. So, it's not huge earnings, but it also only takes a second, so if you are in the app anyway, why not just click the bonus button?

In addition to the log in bonus, you can also earn an extra daily bonus if you complete a certain number of surveys per day. This bonus will be a bit bigger ($0.25) but will also require you to earn at least $1 with surveys, which can take some time because of the low rewards you get on Zap Surveys.

How do you get paid?

You earn cash in dollars on Zap Surveys app. Once you have reached the payout threshold, you will supposedly be able to cash out through PayPal, Amazon gift cards, Visa e-cards, and more.

However, inside my account, I only have Amazon gift cards and prepaid MasterCards as a reward option, so it seems they do not offer the same rewards in all countries.

The payout threshold is $10, so you have to make this before you can get the money out.

This used to be $25, so this is one aspect they have improved since I first joined it, as earning $25 on Zap Surveys would take A LOT of patience. $10 is a fairly low threshold, but just be aware that it can still take some patience to reach.

There are fast paying survey sites where you can get your earnings out a lot faster and personally I prefer using these.

How much money can you make?

Zap Surveys will be able to make you a little extra money but do not expect more than that.

The portals that it offers surveys through have some opportunities, but it very much depends on the country you live in. Where I live, they do not give a lot of options, and therefore, the app and website is not great for me.

Also, the same surveys are offered through many other Get-Paid-To sites for higher rewards in many cases.

In general, it does not offer very many options. To do surveys on the go, I instead prefer using some of the big survey sites that have apps as they have many more options and, therefore also better earning opportunities.

Who can join?

You can download and join Zap Surveys app from both iOS and Android devices, and you can also join through the website.

They do not have any info about which countries it is available in, but from what I have been able to find out, it seems like it is available in more or less all countries.

But if you want to know for sure if it is available in your country, you have to try to go to Google Play or the App Store and see if it is available to download. Or just try to sign up via the website.

And you are then welcome to share in a comment below which country you are in and if it is available for you or not as this can help others to find out if it is available for them or not.

Can you get support?

It is important to know whether a platform offers support or not so you know if you can expect to get help if you should ever have any problems.

And this is the biggest issue when it comes to Zap Surveys, in my experience.

They do have a support email address, but in my experience, they rarely reply.

At some point, I lost access to my account when I got a new phone and had forgotten my password. I then wanted to reset my password, but that function did not work.

Therefore, I tried contacting their support to get access to my account again and to let them know the reset password function did not work.

However, I never heard back from them, and it has been several years at the time of updating this review. Since then, I have tried contacting their support again about another issue but again did not hear back from them.

This is definitely something to consider before you join and invest time there. If you should run into problems, you should not expect any help, and this is a huge minus, in my opinion.

Final verdict

Zap Surveys app has some potential, but I am not impressed by it. It is, however, legit and you can potentially earn on it.

But it is definitely not a good option for all.

So, let's finish this review by summing up the pros and cons so you can get a better overview before you decide if you should download it or not.

Pros:

• Easy to use
• Decent joining bonus

Cons:

• Limited earning opportunities
• Has a fairly high payout threshold
• Does not have a lot of info available until after you join
• Terrible support

As you can see, the app has both some good and not-so-good sides.

Personally, I prefer taking surveys through other sites, as there are many better survey sites that offer more opportunities and lower payout thresholds.

And Zap Surveys is just too risky, in my opinion, as they have terrible support so if you should ever have any issues, you can end up losing your earnings as I did.

Therefore, it is NOT a survey site I recommend. There just are many better options (you can click the link below to see some of the best).
