Fair Opinions Review – Worth It or Not? (What to Expect)

If you're looking for a way to earn extra cash by simply sharing your opinions, Fair Opinions might be one of the options you’re considering. It promises a chance for you to share your opinion about certain products, services, and trends, and get rewarded in return.

But is it truly worth it?

In this Fair Opinions review, I’ll give you an honest look at what to expect: how it works, how much you can really make, the payout options, and a few more things.

By the end, you’ll know whether it is a good fit for you or if there are better survey sites out there. So, let’s get cracking, shall we?

What is Fair Opinions, and what does it offer?

Fair Opinions is a market research site that rewards you for answering surveys. And yes, it does look like it is a legit site, since you can really earn from it.

However, that doesn’t mean you should immediately sign up for it. To find out if it is even worth your time, you must first understand how it works. The best way to do so is to examine the earning opportunities it offers, so you will have a clear idea of how much time and effort are needed to earn from it.

So, here’s how to earn from Fair Opinions.

Option 1 – Paid Surveys

The primary way to earn from Fair Opinions is by answering paid surveys. Once you become a member of the panel, you must log in to the member dashboard to view all the surveys available.

You will also receive an email notification if there are surveys available, so you don’t have to keep logging in to the dashboard to check if there are available surveys.

The first thing you must do to start the earning process is select the category of the survey you want to answer. As you can see in the photo above, there are three categories available, and they are all based on the length of the survey you prefer (5 to 10 minutes, 10 to 20 minutes, and 20 plus minutes).

Now, if there are no surveys for a category, you won’t be able to choose it.

When I tested the site, there were only short surveys available (see image above).

Once you select a category, if it is your first time doing so, you’ll have to answer a set of profiling questions, so Fair Opinions can determine which sites fit your profile.

After answering the questions, you’ll receive a small number of points. Then, it will show you all the surveys for that category that fit your profile.

Simply pick one and click it. Then, you’ll go through the qualifying process. This is done to determine if you are the right person for the survey. If you qualify, you get to answer the actual survey. If you don’t, then the earning process stops there. You just have to move on to the next available survey if there are any.

What’s great about Fair Opinions is that even if you get disqualified for a survey, you will still earn a small number of points. This is to compensate for the time you took to qualify for the survey.

As shown in the photo above, you can earn up to 15 points if you get disqualified from a survey. It’s not much, but at least you get something for your time.

If you are able to complete a survey, you will receive the promised reward, which will also be a certain number of points. Later, I will discuss what you can do with the points you’ve earned.

When I tested the site, there were not a lot of surveys available, but keep in mind that the availability of surveys will mostly depend on your location.

Option 2 – Referral Program

Fair Opinions also has a referral program that offers rewards. However, they are not exactly clear on the rewards you will get for inviting people to join. To be honest, I never had the chance to find out because it is not something I would recommend to my friends, and later, you will know why.

I was a bit surprised when I saw this opportunity, because normally, survey sites usually tell you immediately what you will get for promoting the site. So, it’s very surprising that Fair Opinions chose not to reveal immediately what the referral rewards are.

It’s almost like they don’t really want you to invite people to join. Otherwise, they would make it sound more enticing. At least, that’s what most other survey sites do, based on my experience.

How do you get paid?

The points you’ve earned from answering surveys can be used to redeem various rewards. The exact rewards available will depend on the country you live in, but the most common option is PayPal.

To redeem PayPal cash, you’ll need to earn at least 1,000 points, which is equivalent to $10. You can also redeem various gift cards. The threshold for these gift cards will vary, but the lowest is 250 points ($2.50).

You can also get paid via direct bank transfer ($25 threshold) or Venmo ($10 threshold) if you live in the US.

How much money can you make?

The amount you can earn from Fair Opinions will mostly depend on how many surveys you can complete. As explained earlier, the availability of surveys mainly depends on your location. If you live in countries like the US, UK, or Canada, then there will be more surveys available for you to answer.

As for how much you can earn per survey, that would also depend on your location. On average, as the website says, most users earn around $0.50 to $3 per survey. That’s not a bad rate, in my opinion, but you must keep in mind that you will not always qualify for the surveys you answer.

So, it can take a bit of patience to earn enough points to cash out a reward.

Fair Opinions does offer a joining bonus, but it doesn't do a good job of explaining how it works. As you can see in the photo above, you can choose the type of joining bonus you get. The features shown for each option are a bit vague.

But based on my experience, choosing a higher one usually means a higher payout threshold or something similar, like getting additional benefits when you cash out. Sometimes, it can also mean it will take longer for you to claim the bonus because you'll have to fulfill a certain condition to claim it.

Again, it's not quite clear how it works, and the site does a poor job of explaining exactly how it works. If you are new to these types of sites, it will take a while before you can figure it out, which isn't good, in my opinion.

That being said, they do offer a fairly generous joining bonus, in my opinion, because you can receive up to $5. This will make it easier for you to reach the threshold the first time. But after that, it will take quite a while before you can cash out again, because of the limited earning opportunities it offers.

This is why it’s not something I would recommend to my friends. The earning potential of the site is relatively low, in my opinion. It will take a while before you can earn a significant amount.

Can you use it on mobile?

Fair Opinions doesn’t have a mobile app you can download, but the website is optimized for mobile use, so you can answer surveys on your mobile phone conveniently. This is quite helpful because you can get to the surveys quickly, even if you are not in front of your computer.

This matters because all surveys have a maximum number of respondents allowed. If that number is reached, anyone who attempts to answer the survey will automatically be disqualified. This is the main reason for survey disqualifications, based on my experience.

You also won’t encounter any annoying pop-up ads while working on the site, which is a good thing. This makes the overall user experience quite decent, in my opinion.

Who can join Fair Opinions?

Fair Opinions is only available in certain countries (refer to the photo below), specifically, the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

If you don’t live in any of the countries mentioned, then this site is not for you. If you do, then signing up as a member of the panel is easy. You can use your Google account or email address to do so.

Once you are done registering, you’ll be asked to confirm your registration by sharing your mobile number, because Fair Opinions will send a confirmation code to the number to complete your registration.

There’s no way around this step, so if you are not comfortable sharing your mobile number, this is not for you.

Can you get support?

Fair Opinions has an FAQ section you can check out if you have questions, but it only discusses a few basic topics. So, if you can’t find the answers you need or if you’ve experienced an issue while using the site, you must contact support instead.

To do so, you must log in to the member dashboard and click the Support link. Then, fill out all the necessary fields and submit your inquiry.

Overall, I would say it does provide the minimum required support to its members since there’s a convenient way to contact support.

Final Verdict

Fair Opinions is a legit survey site that rewards you for answering surveys. It has a couple of good features, but it also has some disadvantages you need to be aware of.

In my opinion, Fair Opinions is not a bad survey site. It pays a decent amount per survey, but the earning opportunities are quite limited. So, it will take quite a while before you can earn a significant amount from it.

Personally, it’s not something I would recommend to my friends because there are better options out there. Plus, not telling you what you will earn from their referral program rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t like websites that are not transparent with the earning opportunities they offer.
