I have recently come across an app called GeoSmile that offers something interesting. It claims to reward you for moving.
As you can see, it is a very tempting offer, but the big question is, is it worth it?
In this GeoSmile app review, I will give you a detailed inside look so you will know what to expect from it. Then, you can properly evaluate if it is an app worth using or not.
So, let’s go ahead and check out everything GeoSmile has to offer, shall we?
What is GeoSmile, and what does it offer?
GeoSmile is a mobile app that will reward you for moving. And yes, it does look like it is a legit app because you will really be rewarded for basically moving around. However, that doesn’t automatically make GeoSmile an app worth using.
To find out if it is worth it, you must first understand how it works. The only way to do so is to check out the earning opportunities it offers, so you will have a good idea of how much time and effort is needed to earn from it.
So, here’s how to earn from GeoSmile.
Option 1 – Moving Around
You can earn rewards by moving around. All you have to do is bring your mobile device with you whenever you go out. Once the app is installed, it will be able to count the steps you’ve taken or the distance you’ve traveled.

For the steps you take every day, you’ll earn 1 mile (the currency the app is using) for every 1,000 steps. However, you can only earn a maximum of 10 miles per day. Now, if you are riding a train, car, or bike, you’ll also earn miles.
For every 10 km of travel via train, car, or bike, you can fill up GeoSmile’s tank. When the tank is full, it can be claimed for miles. When claiming miles from tanks, the app will ask you to watch a video ad to increase the miles you will receive.
It’s not mandatory, but it’s a way to earn more miles. And believe me, you will need all the miles you can get, and you will understand why later.
What GeoSmile offers is essentially a passive way to earn because you can just let it run in the background while moving around to earn. You don’t have to do anything special apart from claiming the rewards. Unfortunately, you’ll be bombarded with a lot of ads while using the app.
Option 2 – Paid Surveys
You can earn more rewards from the surveys it offers. From time to time, you’ll be asked to answer a short survey. If you manage to finish the survey, you’ll earn a certain number of miles.
However, you need to get through the qualifying process first to do so. If you’ve been a member of survey sites before, then the process will be pretty much the same.
There are not a lot of surveys available, so it’s not something you can regularly earn from.
Option 3 – Slot Machine Game
You can play its slot machine game to earn additional rewards. To do so, you’ll need to spend a coin, which can be earned from moving around or from surveys.
It’s a very easy way to potentially win rewards, but it’s a game of chance, so it’s not something you can reliably earn from. Aside from that, you’ll have to deal with a lot of ads while you are playing the game.
Option 4 – Referral Program
Lastly, you can earn rewards from its referral program. The app’s website is not quite clear on how the referral program works, and honestly, I didn’t bother to dig deeper into how it works, and later, you will understand why.
But from what I could gather, you’ll earn additional rewards by inviting people to join GeoSmile. To do so, you must share your invite code. When they sign up as a member of the app and input your code, they will become your referral.
However, based on my experience, your referral must meet a certain requirement before you will earn the referral reward. While this may sound like an easy way to earn, GeoSmile is really not something I would recommend to my friends, and later, you will find out why.

How do you get paid?
All the earning opportunities GeoSmile offers will reward you with miles. Now, you might be thinking that these miles can be used for travel like in an airline loyalty program. However, you will be disappointed because the only thing you can do with the miles you’ve earned is use them to redeem rewards.

The rewards you can redeem will depend on the country you live in, but most of the time, the options will be gift cards for Amazon, Starbucks, Apple Pay, and more. In the photo above, you’ll see PayPal’s logo, but when I tested the app, PayPal was not available.
I’m not exactly sure which countries it is available in, so it’s not something you should expect to see as a payout option. Plus, the payout options available are subject to change without prior notice. The payment system of GeoSmile is powered by XOXODay, which is an enterprise-grade loyalty, rewards, and incentive solution.
As for the threshold you must reach to redeem a reward, you’ll need to earn 50,000 miles to redeem a $5 gift card. The threshold is quite low but the number of miles needed seems like a lot, which makes the low payout threshold irrelevant, in my opinion.
So, if you are interested in sites or apps that have a low payout threshold, I suggest you check out the fastest paying sites instead.
How much money can you make?
While the app will essentially let you earn passively, you can’t expect to earn a lot from it. As explained above, you’ll need to earn 50,000 miles just to redeem a $5 reward. The problem with this is that you can only earn a maximum of 10 miles per day from your daily steps.
And even if you add the miles you can earn from traveling or answering surveys, it will still take quite a long time to accumulate 50,000 miles. So, in the end, it will take a significant amount of time to earn a small amount ($5) from GeoSmile.
This is why I would consider its earning potential to be very low. This is the main reason why it’s not an app I would recommend to my friends and also the reason why I never even bothered to figure out the full details of its referral program.
Can you use it on a desktop?
GeoSmile is a mobile-only platform, so you can’t use it on a desktop. This is understandable due to the nature of the earning opportunities it offers. As for the app, it is available to both Android and iOS users, so compatibility won’t be a problem.

The app is easy to use, but as I’ve mentioned earlier, you’ll be dealing with a lot of pop-up ads while using it. So, the user experience it provides is quite bad. If it weren’t for the multitude of ads you have to view, then the user experience would have been more favorable, in my opinion.
Who can join GeoSmile?
The app and its website don’t really tell you exactly which countries it is available in. But from what I can tell, it is only available in select countries. The best way to find out if it is available in your country is to search for it on your app store.
If it appears among the results, then that means it is available in your country. If it doesn’t, you are out of luck.
To sign up, you must install the app first. Then, when you open the app for the first time, just go through the sign-up process, which should only take less than a minute to do. Once you are done signing up, you can log in to the app and start earning.
Can you get support?
If you have questions about the app, you can check out the Help section on the website. It discusses most of the important topics you need to know about GeoSmile.
But if you can’t find the answers you need, then you can contact support instead. You can do so by using the contact form provided by the website or app. You can also email your inquiry to support@geosmile.zendesk.com.
Overall, I would say the app does provide the minimum required support to its members since it offers a couple of convenient ways for you to ask for help.
Final Verdict
GeoSmile is a legit app that will let you earn by moving around. It has a couple of decent features, but it has a few drawbacks you need to know.
To help you with your decision, I have summarized its pros and cons so you can see a clear overview of what it offers.

Pros:
- Offers a passive form of earning

Cons:
- Offers very low rewards
- The app is very spammy
In my opinion, GeoSmile is not worth your time. The main reason why I say this is because of the very low rewards it offers. It will take you quite a long time to reach the threshold to redeem a reward. So, even though it offers a passive form of earning, you’ll still be better off finding more efficient ways to earn.
And speaking of more efficient ways to earn, I recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites and apps on this list all have good earning potential, so you can earn a decent amount quickly.
Plus, all of them provide a good user experience because you won’t be bombarded with ads.
