Bulbshare is an app that is kind of a social media platform and a survey site all rolled into one. To earn from this app, you just have to share your ideas.

This can be done through what they call briefs. You’ll have to answer a few questions, but it will also ask you to upload photos or even videos from time to time. The questions you need to answer will usually ask you for your opinion regarding certain topics.

The commenting comes in because you can comment on other briefs, and to get a better chance at getting access to paid tasks, you will need to be active on the platform and comment.

So, you will not directly get paid to comment, but it is more or less a requirement to comment to get access to paid tasks.

And speaking of rewards, you will be compensated a certain amount when you share your ideas on paid briefs. You will get paid via PayPal every time you complete a paid brief.

Reddit is the one place on this list I use every day. But I don’t actually use it to earn money. I use it to help people, both in my own subreddit, r/SideCashHub, and by replying to questions in other communities.

Reddit does, however, also pay you through its Contributor Program. When other users give your posts or comments paid awards, you can earn money from it. As you can see in my screenshot below, I have close to 9,500 karma, so I qualify, but I have earned almost nothing so far. Most comments never get a paid award, so I would not count on it.

Steemit is a social site built on a blockchain, where you earn the crypto STEEM when other users upvote your posts and comments. I have looked into how it works, but I have not tested it properly, because I did not find it worth my time.

It is free to post and comment, but you have to verify your email and phone number, and after that, Steemit puts you on a waiting list before you get your account. Your posts and comments can earn for 7 days, and how much you get depends on who upvotes you. Also, save your password somewhere safe, because Steemit cannot recover it if you lose it.

Hive works much like Steemit. Ecency is an app on the Hive blockchain where you can post and comment, and you earn HIVE crypto when other users upvote you. Like with Steemit, I have only looked into it and not tested it properly.

Your posts and comments earn for 7 days, and after that, your earnings are ready to collect. Ecency also gives you Points for being active, but you use them inside Ecency, for example to promote your posts, so they are not the same as the crypto you earn.

Why I made this list (and why I have not tested every site)

People often ask me about ways to get paid to comment, and that is why I made this list. But to be honest, it is not an earning method I recommend, because it is not very effective. With so many different ways to earn online, I prioritize my time, and commenting is not high on that list.

I have tested Timebucks and Bulbshare, and I use Reddit every day. Steemit and Hive I have researched and looked into, but I have not tested them properly, simply because I did not find them worth it. But if getting paid to comment is what you want, these are your options, and now you know what to expect.

How much can you earn from commenting?

Getting paid to comment is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme. What you earn will not compare to a full-time job. At best, it is a way to earn a bit on the side.

Good for beginners

You do not need any special skills. All you invest is a bit of your time and some effort. If you are new to online earning, it is a good way to get your feet wet.

Low earnings

Commenting will not earn you a lot. There are many better ways to earn for free online.
