MoneyTime App Review – Worth It? (Details Explained)

Play games, earn cash, and get paid via PayPal or gift cards. That’s the pitch behind MoneyTime. On paper, it sounds tempting, but is it worth it?

I decided to spend some time testing this app to find out if it is an app worth using or not. In this MoneyTime app review, I will explain in detail what it offers, what you can earn, where it struggles, and whether it’s truly worth your time or just a waste of effort.

What is MoneyTime, and what does it offer?

MoneyTime is a mobile app that rewards you for playing the mobile games it features. And yes, based on my testing, it is a legit app because you can really earn rewards.

However, that doesn’t exactly mean it is worth your time. To find out if you should install MoneyTime, we must take a look at the earning opportunity it offers, so you will have a clear understanding of how it works and how good it is.

The earning opportunity – Playing the featured games

The only way to earn from MoneyTime is by playing the mobile games it features. To do so, you must log in to the app.

Once you are inside the app, you will immediately see all the available games you can play. When I tested the app, most of the games that were featured were puzzle games, so if you like those types of games, you will enjoy this earning opportunity.

To start earning, just pick a game you want to play and click it. Then, it will ask you to install the game on your device. Once it is installed, it will appear under the “My Games” section.

This is what you need to remember when trying to earn from MoneyTime. You must always open the game you want to play from the “My Games” section of the app and not directly from your device’s menu.

This is the only way MoneyTime can track how long you’ve been playing the game. But why is this important? That’s because you will earn monies (the term they use for points) while you are playing the game.

The progress bar (refer to the photo above) will show the total monies you’ve earned for the past three hours. Then, after three hours, the app will convert the monies you’ve earned while playing the game to cash that you can withdraw (more on this later).

Take note that there’s a maximum number of monies you can earn in a span of three hours, which significantly impacts the amount you can earn. Aside from that, the number of monies you can earn is totally random, which is not ideal, in my opinion.

Usually, on other similar apps, you will know how much you will earn per minute of playing the game. Other apps also implement a mission/task system where you will earn specific rewards for completing the mission or task. These are more user-friendly systems, in my opinion.

So, the fact that you won’t have any idea how much you are earning while playing makes it a less-than-ideal way to earn, in my opinion. And to make it worse, you will encounter a lot of ads while playing the featured games, which can be quite annoying to deal with.

I did expect this, though, because this is how these types of apps are able to generate income to pay their players. Be that as it may, the user experience is still quite bad, in my opinion.

How do you get paid?

As explained above, MoneyTime will convert your rewards to cash every three hours. The question now is, how can you withdraw your earnings?

You can withdraw your earnings via PayPal or convert them to gift cards instead. You’ll need to earn at least $0.01 to make a withdrawal, which is quite a low threshold, in my opinion.

As for the type of gift cards you can redeem, that will entirely depend on where you live, but the most common option is an Amazon gift card, based on my testing.

Overall, I would say its payout system is relatively straightforward. I like the fact that it has a low threshold. If you are interested in more sites that have a low threshold, I suggest you also check out the fastest-paying sites.

How much money can you make?

As explained earlier, you won’t exactly know how much you’ve earned from MoneyTime because it does look like the number of monies you will receive when playing the featured games is purely random. But if I were to base it on my testing, I would say its earning potential is very low.

When I tested the app, I was able to earn around $0.005 for playing a game for 15 minutes or so. That’s a very low rate, in my opinion, which means you will have to invest a lot of time just to earn $1, which is, honestly, a bad use of your time.

Aside from the low rewards, there’s a limit to how much you can earn in three hours, which, in my opinion, severely impacts its already very low earning potential.

Can you use it on a desktop?

MoneyTime is a mobile-only platform, so you will need to use a mobile device to earn from it. As for the app, only Android users can use it, so if you are an iOS user, I recommend you check out the best money-making apps for iOS instead

The app is fairly easy to navigate, but the overall user experience isn’t that great, because, as explained earlier, you will encounter a lot of pop-up ads while trying to earn. This is to be expected, though, because apps like MoneyTime tend to have a lot of ads, based on my experience.

Who can join MoneyTime?

The app or its website doesn’t tell you exactly which countries it is available in, but from what I can see, it is available in many countries. The best way to find out if it is available in your region is to search for it on Google Play.

If it appears among the results, then that means it is available in your country. If it doesn’t, then you cannot join.

To register as a member, you must first install the app. Then, when you open the app for the first time, it will ask you to go through the sign-up process. Once you are done signing up, you can log in and start playing the featured games.

It’s a fairly simple sign-up process, in my opinion.

Can you get support?

You can check out the FAQ or Loyalty Program Rules sections of the website if you have questions about the app. These sections discuss some of the basic topics you need to know about the app.

But on the other hand, I understand the reason they do not explain this clearly because with their current system, people do not necessarily notice how much time they spend on tiny rewards. If they were completely transparent about the earning potential, most people would likely not spend much time playing.

MoneyTime is a mobile app that will reward you for playing mobile games. It has some decent features, but it also comes with some pretty noticeable downsides.

MoneyTime is not something I would recommend you use. In my opinion, you will just be wasting your time because it has a very low earning potential. Aside from that, its user experience isn’t very good.

You are better off spending your time on sites or apps with higher earning potential. That way, you can easily earn a significant amount.
