Apps that claim you can earn money or crypto just by running them on your phone are always interesting. And that’s exactly what Silencio claims to offer.
According to the platform, you can earn rewards simply by measuring noise levels around you with your smartphone and by doing voice recordings. The idea sounds appealing, but as with many platforms that promise passive rewards, it’s important to understand exactly how it works and what you can realistically earn.
So, in this Silencio review, I will go over how it works, how you can earn, and whether it is actually worth joining.
What is Silencio, and what does it offer?
Silencio Network is a mobile platform that collects environmental sound data from users around the world through its app, and by making voice recordings. The data gathered is then used to help train artificial intelligence and map out noise levels around the globe.
And yes, it is indeed legit because you can really earn passively from it. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean it is the right opportunity for you. To find out if you should sign up for it, you must first understand how it works.
The best way to do that is to examine the earning opportunities it offers, so you will have a clear understanding of how good it really is
I have made a video that explains exactly how it works. You can also read the full details below the video.

Option 1 – Recording Projects
One way to earn from Silencio is by working on recording projects. All you have to do is log in to the member dashboard of Silencio and click the “Train AI” link to see all the projects that are a match to your profile.

Then, click the “Join Opportunity” button to see the full details of the project. Most of the time, these projects will require recording text-to-speech, commands, conversational audio, and more. The data collected from these projects will be used to help train AI models to recognize speech across languages and accents.
When you are ready to record, just click the “Join” button to get to the recording screen. When you get to this screen, you can click the microphone button to start recording.
Now, keep in mind that you will have to be in a quiet room when you record the audio. Silencio is very particular about background noise, and you must always use a good microphone to ensure a high-quality submission.
After you submit your recording, Silencio will review it, and if it is approved, you will earn the specified reward. As long as the total number of hours for the project hasn’t been met, you can keep submitting recordings.
Now, keep in mind that each project will pay you a set hourly rate, and compensation will be paid in USDC. So, the amount you will receive will be the total length of your submissions.
For example, if a project pays 10 USDC per hour, and you submitted a total of 30 minutes, you will earn 5 USDC. Now, most of the projects will also reward you with raffle tickets. Later, I will discuss how their raffle works.
As for how many projects are available at any given time, that entirely depends on your profile and location. When I was testing it, around 5 to 8 projects were running at any given time. That’s a decent number, but in other countries, you might not find a lot of projects.
Option 2 – Using the App
Another way you can earn from Silencio is by using its app, which is mainly designed to capture ambient sounds. You will essentially be contributing noise data by using the app.
You simply open the app and allow it to measure sound levels in your environment. The system maps noise levels across geographic areas and rewards users for filling in missing data.
The more locations you measure, the more in-app coins you earn. Later, I will discuss what these coins are for.
You can let the app run in the background while walking or commuting, so it collects more data. Then, after the end of each month, you will receive a certain number of Silencio tokens ($SLC) as a reward according to your ranking as a contributor (through its league system).
It’s a relatively simple process, but you must keep in mind that your mobile device’s battery will be drained a lot faster if you keep using the app. And you also need to feel comfortable about letting it record sounds in your surroundings.
Option 3 – Monthly Raffle
As mentioned above, Silencio has a monthly raffle. This is another way of distributing their tokens ($SLC). Every time you earn in-app coins, they automatically become raffle tickets. So, the more coins you earn during the month, the more tickets you have in the raffle.

At the end of each month, the system takes a snapshot of your total tickets. Then, a blockchain-based raffle distributes rewards to users. If you win something, you will see mystery cubes in the app.
When you open them, they reveal various prizes in the form of $SLC. Later, I will discuss what you can do with the $SLC you’ve accumulated.
Now, remember that you have only 21 days to claim your reward, so make sure to check whether you’ve won something at the end of each month. If you don’t claim it within that time, the tokens can be burned or returned to the reward pool.
Option 4 – Referral Program
Silencio also has a referral program that lets you earn rewards by inviting others to join the platform. All you have to do is share your referral code with the person you want to invite and remind them to input it when they register as a member.
When they do that, they will become your referral. You will then both receive in-app coins as a reward (200 coins). You will also receive a 20% commission every time your referral earns from the platform.
Its referral program also works with the recording projects. You can invite other people to join the project by sharing your invite link for that project with the person you want to invite.
You will earn 2 USDC for every accepted hour your referrals complete. Just take note that not all projects have a referral program.
In my opinion, its referral program is quite profitable, but you must make sure you invite people who are genuinely interested in earning on the platform. Otherwise, this opportunity will be quite useless.

How do you get paid?
The Silencio payout system is different from most earning apps. You don’t usually get paid directly for each task. Instead, the platform converts your activity into coins. It serves as your contribution to the network and will be used to determine how many $SLC tokens you receive at the end of each month through the raffle and league airdrop.
Its league system will determine how many $SLC tokens you will receive at the end of each month. As for the USDC you will earn from projects, it’s a bit more straightforward.
The USDC you earn will be stored in your Silencio wallet. You can then withdraw your USDC to a crypto wallet that supports the Peaq network, which isn’t very common. You also need a minimum of 1 USDC to make a withdrawal.

Also, you must keep in mind that 20% of the USDC you withdraw will be converted into $SLC tokens and will be locked (refer to the photo above). So, don’t expect to receive the full amount when you withdraw your USDC earnings.
After 90 days, the locked $SLC tokens will be unlocked and can now be transferred into a crypto wallet that supports the token. So, as you can see, a portion of your earnings will always be stored in the Silencio platform for a certain period.
That’s why you need to be patient. If you prefer sites that let you withdraw the full amount of your earnings, this is not an ideal option, in my opinion. I suggest you check out the top sites that let you earn Bitcoin instead.
How much money can you make?
It’s quite hard to determine how much you can really earn from Silencio. It will all depend on your profile/location, as well as how often you use the app.
From what I’ve observed while testing, it’s quite hard to get your recordings approved, so earning a significant amount from the recording projects won’t be that easy. The only thing you can control is how often you use the app to earn passively.
But again, there’s a limit to how long you can use the app because it will drain your phone’s battery a lot faster if you let it run in the background. This is why I would say its earning potential isn’t that great.
It also doesn’t help that it is very selective with the crypto wallets you can use to withdraw your earnings. So, keep these things in mind when you decide if it is worth it.
Can you use it on mobile?
As mentioned above, Silencio has a mobile app you can download. However, the app can only be used to capture ambient sounds and measure noise. If you want to earn from recording projects, you’ll need to use the web-based platform.

As for the app, it works on both Android and iOS devices, so compatibility won’t be a problem. Its user interface is also quite intuitive, so you can navigate it with ease.
The overall user experience is quite decent, but keep in mind that the app can drain more battery because it relies on background audio monitoring and location tracking.
Who can join Silencio?
Silencio is available more or less worldwide, or at least in countries where crypto is not banned. This, in my opinion, is the best thing about the platform. You won’t have a hard time signing up as a member.

If you join through the web-based platform, you’ll need to use your Google account to sign in. If you sign up through the app, you can use your Google or Apple account (depending on the device you use).
Once you are logged in, you’ll need to set up your profile, so Silencio can determine the type of projects that are a good match for you. Once you are done with this step, you can start working on recording projects. Take note that this can only be done on the web-based platform.
For the app, you can just follow the tutorial on how you can enable it to measure noise and record ambient sounds to earn.
Can you get support?
Silencio has specific FAQ sections for the earning opportunities it offers. They discuss most of the basic topics you need to know. But if you can’t find the answers you need, you must contact its support team instead.
You can use the contact form on the app or website, or email them at support@silencio.network. They are both convenient ways to ask for help, which is why I would say they provide decent support.
Final Verdict
Silencio is a platform that lets you earn passively by measuring noise and recording audio. It has some interesting features, but it also has certain limitations you must take into account.
To help you with your decision, here’s a summary of its pros and cons, so you can clearly see an overview of what it offers.

Pros:
- Available more or less worldwide
- Offers a passive way to earn rewards
- The app is user-friendly

Cons:
- Only supports a few crypto wallets
- Low rewards
- When withdrawing, it locks some of your earnings
In my opinion, Silencio is not for everyone. If your goal is to find ways to earn extra cash or even crypto, this is not the most ideal option. It will take a lot of time to earn a significant amount from it because of the low rewards it offers.
It also doesn’t help that there aren't a lot of popular crypto wallets that support its payment system, so withdrawing your crypto earnings won’t be very convenient. I would only suggest you join this platform if you believe in the future of its $SLC tokens.
But if you are looking for great ways to earn extra cash (or even crypto), I suggest you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites and apps on this list all have good earning potential, so you can quickly earn a decent amount.
Plus, all of the sites and apps on this list offer convenient payout options.
