UserInput.io sounds appealing at first. You give feedback, companies listen, and you get paid for your time. That’s the promise.
But as with any online earning platform, you should never join just because it sounds good. You need to understand how it works, how much you can realistically earn, and whether it is actually worth your time.
So, I took the time to test it, and in this UserInput.io review, I’ll break down exactly what it offers, how you can earn from it, and the potential downsides you should know before signing up.

UserInput.io is a user feedback and research platform. Its main purpose is to connect companies with real users who can test products, websites, apps, or ideas and provide feedback.

However, don’t go signing up for it just yet. To find out if it is worth it, you must first understand how it works, so you can gauge how good it is. To do so, we must take a closer look at the earning opportunity it offers.

The earning opportunity – Testing opportunities
The only way to earn from UserInput is to participate in testing opportunities. The way it works is that the site will send you notifications via email. This email will include the instructions, the amount you will earn, and the deadline.
Each testing opportunity will require you to record your screen. Aside from that, you’ll also need a microphone because you’ll have to explain what you are doing and provide feedback at the same time. The site will tell you which screen recording software to download.
So, this means you’ll need a quiet room to work in as well. On average, you’ll be recording 5 to 15-minute videos. When I did the only testing opportunity I received, the video I recorded was around 10 minutes long.
After you finish recording the video, you’ll have to submit it for review. If everything is in order, UserTesting will approve the payment for the testing project. In the next section, I will discuss how you will receive the reward for the testing project.
It’s a fairly straightforward earning process, but as you can see, it will require you to speak out your thoughts. So, if you are not comfortable doing that, then this is not for you.

How do you get paid?
As explained above, every time you complete a testing opportunity, you’ll earn a specific amount. Now, the question is, how will UserInput.io pay you?
The good news is that it uses a convenient payout method. As shown in the photo above, you will get paid via PayPal, which is one of the more convenient payment methods available, in my opinion.
Aside from that, since UserInput doesn’t have a member dashboard, it also means you don’t have to reach a threshold to withdraw your earnings. This is to be expected because that’s how platforms without any member dashboard usually work, based on my experience.
The only thing that is unclear about UserInput’s payout system is the waiting period to receive your earnings. The website doesn’t tell you exactly how long you have to wait before the amount will be credited to your PayPal account.
I can tell you, though, that it is not instant. You’ll have to wait a few days before it will be credited to your PayPal account. At least, that’s how it was when I was testing it.
But overall, I would consider its payout system to be quite straightforward and convenient. I like the fact that it offers payment via PayPal because it is a convenient option. The amount you can earn from UserInput will depend on how many testing projects you can complete. However, based on my testing and feedback from other users, testing opportunities are quite few and far between. You can consider yourself lucky if you get to work on one testing opportunity per month.
As for how much you can earn per opportunity, the average is around $5 to $15, which is not a bad rate, in my opinion. However, it’s also not that good, considering you’ll have to put a bit of effort and time when testing apps and sites.
There are testing projects that pay more, but they are quite rare, and they take up more of your time. This is why I would consider its earning potential to be very low. There are a few opportunities to earn, and you don’t get paid a significant amount per project.
Can you use it on mobile?
As explained earlier, the website doesn’t have a member dashboard you can use. Everything will be through email.
That being said, you’ll need to use your mobile phone if you are asked to test a mobile app. When that happens, you’ll be asked to record your phone screen while testing the app. So, to answer the question above, YES, from time to time.
Who can join UserInput.io?
The website doesn’t tell you exactly which countries it is available in, but from what I saw when I was testing it, it is available more or less worldwide. So, you should be able to apply as a tester regardless of where you live. You just have to be at least 18 years of age to be eligible, and you must have a verified PayPal account to get paid.
To apply as a tester, you must fill out the registration form. After submitting the form, you will be told that you will only be contacted if there are testing opportunities that fit your profile. After that happens, you will automatically be emailed notifications about new project opportunities.
It’s a simple sign-up process, which is good, but I’m not a fan of not hearing back from them unless there are earning opportunities available. It would be better, in my opinion, if they would at least acknowledge that you have been accepted into their pool of testers.
Can you get support?
The website doesn’t have a Help or FAQ section for testers. So, if you have questions about the site or the project you are working on, you must contact its support department instead.
You can only do so via email. You can submit your inquiries via email to hello@userinput.io. Overall, I would say the website does provide the minimum required support since it offers an easy way to ask for help.
However, I do wish the website would provide at least a Help or FAQ section to reduce the instances of having to contact support. That would improve the overall user experience, in my opinion.
Final Verdict
UserInput.io is a legit user testing site that lets you earn by working on testing projects. It has some decent features, but it also has quite a few drawbacks you must consider.

So, its earning potential is quite low. That’s why I would only recommend you join this site if you need an additional user testing site to earn from. And even then, you shouldn’t expect to earn regularly from it. You can treat your earnings from this site as a bonus. That’s the best way to approach it, in my opinion.
