There’s an app called Gold Town that claims you can earn money by reading the news and taking quizzes.

It sounds like a fairly easy way to earn extra cash, but the question is, is it legit?

I have tested hundreds of apps like this over the years, so I know, based on experience, that not all of them offer a good way to earn extra cash. So, should you invest your time in this app?

In this Gold Town app review, I will not only address its legitimacy but also reveal the full details of what it offers, so you know what you can realistically expect from it. Then, you can decide if it is worth it or not. So, let’s proceed.

What is Gold Town, and what does it offer?

Gold Town is a Get-Paid-To (GPT) app that will reward you for reading the news, answering quizzes, playing games, and more. And yes, it is legit because the earning opportunities it offers are real.

That being said, even though it is legit, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s worth your time. So, before signing up for it, you must understand how it works. And the only way to do that is to take a look at the earning opportunities it offers.

Option 1 – Reading News Articles

One way to earn from Gold Town is to read news articles. When you log in to the app, just click the section that says “News Express” to see all the news articles you can read.

The thing with this opportunity is that you are not actually required to read the article to earn. You just need to keep scrolling until you earn the reward.

When you are in this section, you’ll see a small gift icon that will load a progress bar while you are scrolling down an article. It will load slower and slower the longer you stay on an article, so it’s a good idea to switch to a different article when you notice the progress bar slow down.

When the progress bar reaches its full rotation, you will receive a certain number of coins as a reward, and start back from scratch again. This is the whole process of earning from this opportunity. Now, what you might not know is that, from time to time, you’ll have to deal with pop-up ads while working on this opportunity.

This is the annoying part of the app, and it’s not just in this section. You’ll encounter a lot of ads in general while working in the app.

The worst part is that these ads are quite long (around 30 to 40 seconds usually), so you’ll have to be very patient.

Option 2 – Quizzes

You can also earn additional rewards by answering quizzes. When you log in to the app, you must click on the “Quiz Challenge” section to access the quizzes you must answer. The earning process for this opportunity is quite simple.

All you have to do is answer the quizzes correctly to earn rewards. Each correct answer will let you earn a certain number of coins (usually around 70 to 90 coins per question). Then, when you’ve given five consecutive correct answers, you can open a treasure chest to earn additional rewards.

Now, when you claim a treasure chest, you’ll need to watch a video ad again before you can claim it. Once the video ad is done playing, you can claim the reward, which will be a certain number of coins, and continue answering questions.

There’s a limit to how many coins you can earn from this opportunity per day, so if you’ve reached the limit, you must move on to the other earning opportunities to keep earning. The questions are quite easy, so you won’t have a hard time choosing the correct answer.

You will even encounter recurring questions. It happened to me several times while I was testing the app.

Option 3 – Playing Games

You can also play games to earn. When you log in to the app, you must click the “Game Center” section to access the games you can play to earn rewards.

What’s good about this option is that you won’t have to install a third-party game. All the games you can play are inside the Gold Town app.

However, just like reading the news, the only way to earn from this opportunity is to let the progress bar of the Gift icon reach one rotation. When that happens, you’ll earn a certain number of coins.

The progress bar will keep loading if you keep playing a game. Then, you will reach a certain point where you will receive a bonus reward by watching a video ad. After you finish watching the ad, you can continue playing the game or move on to the next game available to earn more.

It’s not quite clear if there’s a limit to how many coins you can earn from this opportunity, but I would expect that there will be. So, you can’t earn an unlimited number of coins by playing games.

Option 4 – Referral Program

Lastly, you can earn coins passively through its referral program. All you have to do is share your referral link or code with the person you want to invite, and when they install the app and start using it, they will become your referral.

As a reward, you will receive a 20% commission every time your referral earns. It’s a decent reward rate, in my opinion, however, you must make sure to invite people who really want to earn from Gold Town, and that will be quite hard to do (more on this later).

How do you get paid?

All the earning opportunities Gold Town offers will reward you with coins. But what can you do with the coins you’ve earned, exactly?

Well, you can convert all your coins to cash via PayPal. As you can see in the photo above, the threshold you need to reach to redeem PayPal cash is $3. It’s a relatively low threshold, in my opinion, but the problem is that you’ll need to earn 1,670,000 coins just to earn that kind of amount.

That’s a lot of coins to earn just to redeem a small amount. This is why, even though it has a low payout threshold, it will still take quite a lot of time to redeem any reward.

So, if you prefer apps or sites that let you withdraw your earnings quickly, I recommend you check out the fastest-paying sites instead.

How much money can you make?

I will tell you right now that you will not be able to earn a decent amount quickly from Gold Town because of the low rewards it offers. The rewards from the opportunities it offers can vary depending on your location, but they are still significantly lower than most other GPT sites and apps.

So, you’ll have to spend a lot of hours (possibly even months) just to reach the threshold to redeem a reward. This is why I consider its earning potential to be very low. You’ll have to wait a long time and spend a lot of effort earning enough coins to redeem a reward.

You are better off investing your time in sites or apps with better earning potential, in my opinion. This is the main reason why it’s not something you should recommend to your friends or family, in my opinion.

Can you use it on a desktop?

Gold Town is a mobile-only platform, so you will need to use your phone to earn from it. As for the app, it is only available to Android users, so if you are an iOS user, this is not for you. You should check out the best money-making apps for iOS instead.

The app is easy to navigate, but as explained earlier, you will encounter a lot of annoying video ads while working on it. Plus, these ads are mainly all about apps that offer unrealistic earning opportunities, so you also have to be wary of them.

This makes the overall user experience unpleasant, in my opinion. Half the time, you’ll be dealing with pop-up ads, which is not something you want from a reward app like this. I can understand why apps do this because it’s a way to earn money, but they should also be careful about how they do it.

They shouldn’t do it to the detriment of the user experience the app provides. There are better ways to incorporate ads in an app, in my opinion.

Who can join Gold Town?

The app doesn’t tell you exactly which countries it is available in, but as far as I can tell, it is available more or less worldwide. So, you should be able to sign up as a member anywhere in the world.

To start using Gold Town, you must install it first. Then, when you open the app for the first time, it will walk you through a short tutorial. After the tutorial, you can start earning rewards.

You don’t need to go through a registration process, which only means one thing: your account will be locked to one device. If you somehow uninstalled the app or switched to a different mobile device, you’ll lose all your earnings and will have to start from scratch again. It’s not an ideal system, in my opinion.

Can you get support?

The app doesn’t have a Help or FAQ section you can check out. It doesn’t even have a contact form you can use to contact support. I had to check its Google Play page just to get its contact information. So, apparently, if you have questions or concerns about the app, you can email your question to buttonpteltd@hotmail.com.

This is why I would say it doesn’t provide good support to its members. It’s one thing not to provide any Help page, but the lack of a contact form or contact information inside the app is what led me to this conclusion.

Gold Town is an app that will reward you for reading the news, answering questions, and playing games. It has a couple of decent features, but it also has certain limitations you must keep in mind.
