I recently discovered an app called THX that claims to offer rewards for sharing your opinions and media habits. Over the years, I have tested hundreds of apps like this, so I know, based on experience, that not all of them are worth it or even legit.
So, the big question is, is it legit or just another scam to stay away from?
In this THX app review, I will not only address that concern, but I will also show you the full details of what it offers. That way, you’ll know exactly what to expect from it before installing.
Then, you can decide if it is worth using or not. So, let’s begin.
What is THX, and what does it offer?
THX is a survey app that offers a slight twist to earn rewards. And yes, it is legit, since you can really earn rewards from it. However, that fact doesn’t automatically make it worth your while.
To find out if you should use it, you must first understand how it works. The only way to do so is to examine the earning opportunities it offers, so you will have a clear idea of how good it is.
So, here’s how to earn from THX.
Option 1 – Sharing Your Opinion
As mentioned, you can earn rewards by sharing your opinion. When you log in to the app, you must go to the Opinion section of the app to see all the opportunities.

Typically, you’ll be asked to answer microsurveys, which are just short surveys. From time to time, you’ll also be asked to rate video ads.
It’s a very straightforward way to earn. After answering microsurveys and rating video ads, you will receive a certain number of points as a reward. Later, I will explain what you can do with the points you’ve earned.
One thing I noticed while testing the app was that there were a decent number of opportunities in the beginning. But as you keep using the app, the opportunities to earn will keep dwindling. Later, I will explain what this implies.
Option 2 – Media Research
The other earning opportunity it offers will let you earn rewards passively. You just have to allow the app to track TV and radio ads using your phone’s microphone. In other words, the app will run in the background and will actively “listen” while you are watching TV or listening to the radio.
It also works when you are outdoors because it can listen to any outdoor advertising as well. Just make sure to enable the feature when you go out.
For every hour this feature is enabled, you’ll receive one point as a reward. It’s not much, in my opinion, but it requires no effort on your end.
Just be aware that it will drain your phone’s battery a lot faster, so only use it when your phone is fully charged. And, of course, you also need to be comfortable about letting the app listen to everything that is going on around you. Personally, that is something I am not too comfortable with, but that is a matter of personal preferences.
Option 3 – Prize Draws
You can automatically join its prize draws whenever you earn points from the earning opportunities the app offers. Each point will increase your chances of winning, so you could say every point matters.
These prize draws will last for a certain period, and as long as you’ve earned a point within that period, you will automatically be entered in the draw. The winner will be announced at the end of the prize draw, and typically, the prize will be some sort of electronic gadget, like GoPros, phones, and more.
It’s not a guaranteed way to earn, but I decided to include it since you don’t have to do anything special. You just have to be an active member of the app to join.

How do you get paid?
The points you earn from the opportunities offered by THX can be used to redeem various gift cards. The gift cards you can redeem will depend on where you live, but the most common options are Amazon and IKEA gift cards.
You also have the option to donate your earnings to various charities THX supports.

The conversion rate for points is 200 to £1. The threshold you must reach to redeem a gift card will depend on the gift card you choose. Usually, the threshold will be £10.
It’s a fairly straightforward payout system, but its biggest disadvantage is that it doesn’t offer cash rewards. So, if you prefer to earn cash instead of gift cards, I suggest you check out the top sites that pay via PayPal instead.
How much money can you make?
The amount you can earn from THX will depend on how often you use the app. The average that most members say they realistically can earn per month is between £10 and £20. It all depends on how many surveys you can answer and how often you enable the media research feature.

As for the points you can earn per earning opportunity, the photo above says you typically earn 1 point per hour for the media research feature, and five points per microsurvey/questionnaire. The app also has a bonus system where you can earn quite a number of points for completing your profile.
However, this bonus is a bit limited since you can only get it once. After you’ve finished answering all the profile questions, you won’t earn any points from them anymore. As a result, it can take a bit longer to reach the threshold after you’ve redeemed your first reward.
Overall, I would say its earning potential is not that high because of the low rewards it offers, which is to be expected, since most of the earning opportunities don’t require a lot of effort on your end. That’s how it usually is when we talk about online rewards apps and sites.
As a general rule, what you earn pretty much depends on how much time and effort you put in.
Can you use it on a desktop?
THX is a mobile-only platform, so you will need to use it on your phone to earn. Fortunately, the app works on both Android and iOS devices, so compatibility won’t be an issue.

As for the app, it is relatively easy to use, so you won’t have a hard time navigating it. But as explained earlier, you must be careful with enabling the Media Research feature because it can drain your phone’s battery a bit quicker than normal.
So, you should only enable that feature when your phone is fully charged. But overall, the user experience it provides is relatively pleasant, in my opinion.
Who can join THX?
The app’s website doesn’t tell you exactly which countries it is available in, but from what I can see, it is available in at least a few countries, namely France, the UK, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands. So, if you don’t live in any of the countries mentioned above, then this is not for you.
To sign up, you must install the app first. Then, when you open the app for the first time, you can simply follow the instructions, which will take you less than a minute to complete the registration.
Once you are done registering, you can log in to the app and start earning rewards.
Can you get support?
If you have questions about the app, you can check out the FAQ section of the website. It discusses most of the basic topics you need to know.
If you can’t find the answers you need, you can contact its support department via email instead. You can send your inquiries to support@thx.community.
Overall, I would say it does provide the minimum required support to its members since it offers a convenient way for you to ask for help.
Final Verdict
THX is a legit survey app that lets you earn by answering short surveys and enabling its passive earning feature. It has a couple of decent features, but it also has some limitations you must keep in mind.
To finish this review, I have summarized its pros and cons, so you can see a clear overview of what it offers. Then, you can decide if it is worth it or not.

Pros:
- Offers a passive form of earning
- Requires little effort to earn rewards

Cons:
- Low rewards
- Doesn’t offer cash rewards
- Its passive form of earning can drain your battery quickly
In my opinion, THX is not a bad app to earn rewards. However, it also doesn’t have a lot of upsides. What’s great about it is that it doesn’t take a lot of effort to earn. However, it can take a bit of time to earn a decent amount from it, so you have to be patient.
It also doesn’t offer cash rewards, which is why I would only recommend you join if you need an additional app to earn from and only if you are okay with earning gift cards instead of cash.
Otherwise, I recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites and apps on this list all have good earning potential, so you can earn a decent amount quickly. Aside from that, most (if not all) of them offer cash rewards.
Plus, you will definitely find a site or app you can join regardless of where you live.
