WalkTask App Review – Worth It? (An Inside Look)

WalkTask is one of those apps that immediately sounds appealing. After all, getting rewarded for walking is something many people would love. It promises users the chance to earn rewards simply by staying active and completing tasks inside the app.

But while the concept sounds simple, there are a few important things you need to know before joining.

WalkTask is a mobile rewards app that tracks your walking activity and converts your steps into in-app rewards. And in case you are wondering, yes, it is indeed legit, because you can really earn rewards from it.

However, that fact doesn’t automatically make it worth your while. The only way to find out if you should install it is to understand how it works. And to do so, we must take a closer look at the earning opportunities it offers, so you can properly gauge how good it is.

So, here’s how you can earn from WalkTask.

Option 1 – Walking

One way you can earn rewards from WalkTask, as the name suggests, is by walking. Once you install the app, it will ask you to allow it to track your movements. Once you’ve permitted it, it can track the number of steps you’ve taken per day.

Then, once you’ve taken a certain number of steps, you can open a gift box to claim a random number of coins, which is the currency the app is using. Later, I will discuss what you can do with the coins you’ve earned.

When I tested the app, the first checkpoint to claim a gift box was 300 steps. Now, when I clicked the box, I had to watch a video ad to claim the reward. This is the annoying part of the app, in my opinion, but I understand why they do this. It’s their way of earning ad revenue to pay their members.

It’s a very simple process, and if you do a lot of walking every day, you’ll earn a decent number of coins.

Option 2 – Daily Tasks

Another way you can earn more rewards is by completing daily tasks. These tasks are just the things you can do in the app.

They are fairly limited, so the coins you can earn from them are quite small. Just think of it as a bonus for being an active member of the app.

Option 3 – Playing Games

Another way you can earn rewards is by playing mobile games. Once you are on the dashboard, just go to the Play section to get started.

You’ll then see all the games you can play to earn coins. However, I recommend avoiding some of these games because they are quite spammy. And to be honest, they all look like get-rich-quick schemes.

Instead, click on the offerwalls like PlayTime or Torox. When you do, you’ll see all the legit games you can play to earn rewards.

Just pick a game you want to play and permit the app to track data usage. Then, you’ll have to install the game on your device.

The most important thing to remember is to open the game from WalkTask, not directly from your phone’s menu. That way, the app can track your progress.

Each game has a set of tasks you must complete to earn rewards. Most of the time, these tasks will just ask you to hit a certain milestone or level in the game. You don’t have to complete all the tasks to receive your rewards.

As long as you’ve completed the requirement for a task, you’ll receive the reward. Based on my testing, there is a decent number of games available, and most of them are fun to play. However, the rewards you will earn will be quite low compared to other apps or sites that offer the same type of earning opportunity.

Lastly, you can earn additional rewards through its referral program. All you have to do is invite people to join the app by sharing your referral code.

Then, when the person installs the app, they must enter your referral code, so make sure to remind them. When that happens, you’ll receive a random number of coins (20 to 150 coins) as a reward. Although I’m not sure why the reward will be random, most referral programs have a fixed reward.

Aside from this, you’ll also receive a random number of coins (1 to 30 coins) per day when your referral logs in to the app. This will last up to the seventh day since becoming a member of the app.

In my opinion, the way the referral rewards are structured is not very beneficial to the referee. The fact that you’ll get a random reward makes it a less-than-ideal referral program. You see, most referral programs will let you earn a commission every time your referral earns.

For others who don’t use this kind of system, you’ll usually receive a fixed amount as a reward. So, I don’t understand why WalkTask designed it this way. It just doesn’t make it very appealing, in my opinion.

How do you get paid?

The app uses coins as its currency. But what can you do with the coins you’ve earned? Well, you can use them to redeem various rewards (refer to the photo below).

As you can see in the photo above, you can convert your coins to PayPal once you’ve earned at least 3,000 coins. This will be worth $5. You can also redeem various gift cards using the coins you’ve earned.

The amount you can earn from WalkTask will mostly depend on how many steps you take per day and how much time you are willing to invest in the app.

So, if you wish to maximize your earnings, you’ll have to participate in the other earning opportunities it offers, like playing mobile games and completing daily tasks.

I can’t give you an exact amount of what you can earn from the games you play, but if I were to compare them to other sites and apps that offer the same earning opportunities, it would be a bit lower.

This is why I would say its earning potential is low. It will take quite a bit of time to earn a decent amount from it.

Can you use it on a desktop?

WalkTask is a mobile-only platform, so you’ll need to use a mobile phone to earn. It makes sense, since it was primarily designed as a step-counter app.

As for the app, it works on both Android and iOS devices, so you won’t encounter any issues installing it. It is also relatively easy to use because the interface is intuitive.

The only downside is that, as mentioned earlier, you’ll be dealing with ads from time to time. This negatively impacts the user experience, in my opinion.

Who can join WalkTask?

The app doesn’t tell you exactly which countries it is available in, but as far as I can tell, it is available more or less worldwide. To sign up as a member, you must install the app first.
