PlaybookUX Rating

PlaybookUX is a decent user testing site to earn from. You just have to set your expectations in terms of earning potential properly. It pays a good amount per test, but it is not something you can consider as a full-time income.

PlaybookUX is a website that offers a way for you to earn money by testing websites.

If you are looking for a way to earn extra cash and you are interested in joining this site, I suggest you keep reading this PlaybookUX review.

It will give you an inside look, so you will know exactly what to expect from it before you even sign up. Then, by the end of this review, I will give you some recommendations that can help you with your decision on whether or not this site is truly worth it.

So, let’s go ahead and check out PlaybookUX, shall we?

What is PlaybookUX, and what does it offer?

PlaybookUX is a user-testing site that will pay you for testing websites. And yes, it is legit since you will really get paid to test websites. However, that doesn’t automatically mean the site is worth your time.

To find out if it is worth it, you must first understand how it works. The best way to do that is to take a look at the earning opportunities it offers so you will properly gauge the amount of time and effort needed to earn from it.

For that, I have made a video that shows exactly how you can earn from PlaybookUX. You can also read all the details below the video.

The earning opportunity – Tests

When you become a PlaybookUX tester, you will gain access to testing opportunities.

There are four types of tests you can do – unmoderated, moderated, card sort, and tree sort. The video below explains exactly what the types of tests are.

To view the available tests, you must log in to the member dashboard. Before you can take a test, you must first answer a screener survey. This survey is designed to check if you are eligible to do the test. You will not be compensated for this survey, but you must always answer the questions truthfully.

If a company reports that you did not answer the screener truthfully, you will not be compensated for the study. And believe me, they will find out if you are telling the truth or not. If you pass the screener, you get to do the test.

Now, as for the type of tests you can do, the unmoderated tests are tests that will ask you to record your screen and audio while answering questions. For this test, the presence of a researcher is not required. This kind of test usually only takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

A moderated test, on the other hand, will require the presence of a researcher. You’ll have to hop into a Zoom conference call with the researcher for this. You’ll basically have a one-on-one testing session with the researcher, where he/she will ask you several questions.

This test takes around 30 to 90 minutes to complete. So, if you decide to take this kind of test, make sure your schedule is clear because, as you can see, it can take a while.

If you will work on a card sort test, you will be asked to sort cards that make sense to you. I’ll be honest; I’m not really sure what this is because I never got to do this when I tested the site.

As for the last type – tree sort, researchers will ask you questions on where to find content on a website.

These last two test types aren’t very common, but they are quite easy to do. But the bulk of your earnings will come from the unmoderated and moderated tests because they pay significantly more.

After a test is completed and the researcher is satisfied with your work, you will receive compensation. In the next section, I will discuss how you will get paid.

What you need to keep in mind when taking on testing opportunities is that you must do it in a quiet room because you will be speaking your thoughts out loud. A noisy background will make it harder for the researchers to understand what you are saying.  The worst-case scenario is that they will get annoyed and reject your submission.

Another thing you need to remember is that you’ll need to use screen-recorder software as well as a headset and microphone to conduct moderated and unmoderated tests.

How do you get paid?

After completing a test, if the researcher approves your submission, you will get paid via PayPal. The payment will be sent within 8 days of completion.

You don’t have to earn a specific amount to receive your earnings, and the payment will be processed automatically. That’s why I would say the payment system of PlaybookUX is quite straightforward.

I like the fact that it offers a convenient payment system like PayPal. If you are interested in more sites that use a convenient payment system, I suggest you check out the top sites that pay via PayPal as well.

How much money can you make?

The amount you can earn from PlaybookUX will depend on how many tests you can complete as well as the type of tests you work on. Keep in mind, though, that you don’t have control over how many tests will be offered to you.

Based on my experience, the availability of tests will usually depend on your country. The countries with the most opportunities available are usually the US, Canada, and major countries in Western Europe.

You will earn a minimum of $2 from the tests.

As for how much you can earn per test, that will also depend on the type of test you work on. As you can see in the photo above, the highest-paying tests are the moderated ones because they take a significant amount of time to finish. For these tests, you’ll earn $30 for a 30-minute moderated test and $60 for a 60-minute one.

Unmoderated tests will only pay you $10, while card and tree sort tests will only pay you $2. The rates are quite decent, in my opinion, which is why I would say the earning potential of PlaybookUX is relatively good (as long as you get invited to testing projects, of course).

Can you use it on mobile?

The earning opportunity the site offers will require you to use a computer because the screen recorder software will only work with computers. So, to answer the question above, NO, you can’t. You’ll need to use a laptop or a desktop to perform tests.

Who can join PlaybookUX?

The site is available more or less worldwide, so you can sign up as a tester regardless of where you live. But keep in mind that the opportunities available will depend on where you live.

To sign up, you must use your Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn account. Then, you’ll have to go through a practice test, which will ask you to install the screen recorder software. You must follow the instructions of the practice test down to the letter.

You must use your Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn account to sign up.

If you fail this test, you will not be accepted as a tester. The test will take about 10 minutes to complete, so make sure you have ample time if you decide to sign up as a member. After you’ve submitted your work for the practice test, PlaybookUX will review your work to see if you are eligible to become one of their testers.

You’ll find out the result of the practice test within 7 days, and it will be sent via email. So, make sure to check your email from time to time after you’ve submitted your work. If you get accepted as a tester, you can log in to the member dashboard and start earning.

Can you get support?

PlaybookUX has a Help Center page you can check out, and it discusses most of the basic topics you need to know about the site. If you can’t find the answers you need, you can get in touch with the support team instead.

To do so, you can click the Message icon found on the lower right-hand side of the site. Then, click on the Send Us a Message option and fill out the form.

Overall, I would say the site provides decent support to its members since it offers a convenient way for you to get in touch with the support team.

Final Verdict

PlaybookUX is a legit user-testing site that will reward you for testing websites. It has a couple of decent features, but it also has a few limitations you need to consider.

To help you with your decision, here’s a summary of its pros and cons. It will give you a clear overview of what the site has to offer.

pros

Pros:

  • Offers a convenient payment method
  • Pays a good amount per test
  • No payout threshold
cons

Cons:

  • Limited earning opportunities
  • Sign-up process takes a bit of time to finish

In my opinion, PlaybookUX is a decent user testing site to earn from. You just have to set your expectations in terms of earning potential properly. It pays a good amount per test, but it is not something you would consider as a full-time income.

So, it can serve as a decent secondary site to earn some extra cash, in my opinion. Just be prepared to set aside some time for testing, especially if you take on the moderated testing opportunities.

Now, if you are looking for a simpler and quicker way to earn some extra cash, I recommend you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites and apps on this list all have good earning potential, so you can earn a decent amount regularly.

Plus, most (if not all) of the earning opportunities offered won’t take a lot of time to complete.
