Optimity App Review – Legit or Scam? (A Detailed Look)

Optimity Rating

Optimity is not a bad app to earn rewards because it offers a passive form of earning. However, it’s also far from the most rewarding app out there as it claims to be.

Optimity is a mobile app that claims it is the most rewarding app for reaching your fitness and health goals. It’s certainly a bold statement to make, so it got me curious, which is why I decided to take a closer look at the app to see what it is all about.

In this Optimity app review, I will not only check if the app is legit or a scam but will also give you a detailed look at what it offers. That’s the best way to know exactly what to expect from it.

Then, you can properly identify if it is an app that lives up to its claim or not. So, let’s dive in, shall we?

What is Optimity, and what does it offer?

Optimity is an app designed to track health metrics and provide incentives for healthy activities like walking. And yes, it is legit because you can potentially earn rewards from it.

However, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is worth using or what it claims is true. To find out if it is worth your time, you must first understand how it works. The best way to do so is to examine the earning opportunity it offers so you will have a good idea of how much time and effort is needed to earn from it.

So, here’s how to earn from Optimity.

The earning opportunity – Steps and quizzes

Optimity classifies its earning opportunity as Steps and Quizzes. For you to earn rewards, you must answer quizzes in the app or reach the maximum daily steps required. For the latter, you will have to set your daily steps goal, so you can adjust it according to your preference.

how to earn from optimity
You must reach your daily steps goal or answer quizzes to earn rewards.

When you answer quizzes, you’ll receive gems if you pass the quiz. It’s a relatively straightforward process where you must answer the questions correctly to receive the reward.

For your daily steps goal, the app will be able to track the number of steps you’ve taken as long as you bring your mobile phone with you when you are walking. It’s not as advanced as some of the pedometer apps, where you can connect your fitness watch to the app and let it count the steps you’ve taken.

It only tracks your steps using your phone's built-in sensors. It’s a bit inconvenient, especially if you are going out for a run since you’ll have to bring your phone with you if you want the steps to be counted.

This is why it’s not an ideal app to use, in my opinion, for counting your steps. There are better options out there if your goal is to accurately measure the steps you’ve taken and even the distance you’ve walked.

Now, if the app sees that you were able to hit your daily steps goal, it will give you a certain number of gems as a reward. In the next section, I will discuss what you can do with the gems you’ve earned.

My impression while testing the app was that it’s not as comprehensive and sophisticated as it makes it appear to be on its website. There’s definitely a lot of room for improvement, and I don’t consider it the most rewarding app for reaching your fitness and health goals. Later, you will understand why.

How do you get paid?

The earning opportunity Optimity offers will let you earn gems. Now, the question is, what can you do with the gems you’ve earned? Well, this is where it gets a bit tricky.

payout options of optimity
You can use your rewards to bid for gift cards.

Normally, with other walk-and-earn apps, you’ll use the rewards you’ve earned to redeem various gift cards, or you can also convert them to cash via PayPal. But with Optimity, all you can do with the gems you’ve earned is use them to bid for gift cards from its reward section.

This system is a bit frustrating, in my opinion, because you don’t exactly know the value of the gems you’ve earned and you won’t be able to maximize the value of your gems. It also doesn’t help that there will only be a limited number of gift cards you can bid on every month.

This is why I would consider its payout system to be a bit complicated and less than ideal. If you prefer a site or app that uses a convenient payout method, I recommend you check out the top sites that pay via PayPal instead.

How much money can you make?

The website doesn’t give a breakdown of how much you will earn from answering quizzes and hitting your daily steps goal. And as explained above, you can’t determine the exact value of the gems you’ve earned, which is why it’s very hard to indicate how much you can earn from the app.

One thing I’m sure of, though, is that it will take quite a bit of time before you can earn enough gems to bid on gift cards. This is why I would consider Optimity’s earning potential to be very low, which also makes it not the most rewarding app as it claims to be.

Can you use it on a desktop?

Optimity is a mobile-only platform, so you will need to use your phone to earn from it, which also makes sense since the earning opportunity involves you having to walk around. So, to answer the question above, NO, you can’t.

optimity app
The app works on both Android and iOS devices.

As for the app, it is available to both Android and iOS users, and the user interface is relatively user-friendly. However, it is a bit buggy. You’ll encounter a lot of errors while using it.

A lot of users also say the same thing. When I tested the app, it took a while before I could actually register. So, the user experience it provides isn’t that great, in my opinion.

Who can join Optimity?

The site or the app doesn’t tell you which countries it is available in, but from what I can see, it is only available in Canada. So, if you live somewhere else, then this is not for you.

how to join optimity
You can sign up using your email address.

The registration process is relatively straightforward. You just sign up using your email address. However, I do have to warn you that the app can get a bit buggy at times, so you might experience problems registering.

You just have to be patient if you really want to use the app.

Can you get support?

The app’s website doesn’t have a lot of useful information. So, you will most likely have questions. The problem is that the website also doesn’t have a FAQ section you can check out. Plus, the “How it works” page also doesn’t work.

So, to resolve your questions or concerns, you must contact their support team by emailing them at support@myoptimity.com. This is why I would consider the support it offers as not that good even though it offers a convenient way to ask for help.

It would have been better if the website would at least have a Support or Help section you can check out to reduce the instances of having to contact support. It also doesn’t help that the “How it works” section of the website doesn’t work.

Final Verdict

Optimity is a mobile app that will let you earn rewards by walking and answering quizzes. It doesn’t have a lot of upside, only a few drawbacks.

Let me wrap up this review by summarizing its pros and cons so you can see a clear overview of what it offers. Then, you can decide if it is truly worth it or not.

pros

Pros:

  • Offers a passive form of earning
cons

Cons:

  • The payout system isn’t very convenient
  • Low rewards
  • The app is a bit buggy
  • Doesn’t offer cash rewards

In my opinion, Optimity is not a bad app to earn rewards because it offers a passive form of earning. However, it’s also far from the most rewarding app out there as it claims to be.  So, you should only use this app if you live in Canada and you are okay with the payout system it offers.

Now, if you are looking for a better way to earn cash or gift cards, then I suggest you check out the top survey and GPT sites in your country instead. The sites and apps on this list all have good earning potential, so you can earn a decent amount in a short period.

Plus, you will definitely find a site or app you can join regardless of where you live.
